How and where you getting this info?? Car has been out for about 6 months and 100’s of videos made and you’re bringing info to the table no one has even mentioned… stamping of the sheet metal and it’s rigidity,seat height , firewalls, etc. 👍 great work and thank you!!

    Awesome review, I used to have a 2001 integra type r and this new one is pretty nice. After driving a boatload of cars, the one thing i cant get past is it being fwd. It is a fun car but for 55-60k there are other options i would rather have. Like the bmw m340i x drive is a monster (albeit no manual). I wish the type S had acuras SAWD.

Really excited for the car, Civic Type R everyone wanted more money so i Settled for TypeS since I got it on MSRP. I considered a ITS heavily but ultimately went with a CTR last month. The interior of the Type R just makes you feel like you’re sitting in something truly special compared to the Type S which is a bit underwhelming especially since MSRP starts at over $8k more. The seats, racing odometer, data log and I realized the R is going to have better resale value than the S years from now. The ITS is still a great car in its own right though.

    When i get my job coming up in the next couple of months, I'm still getting a Type-R. However, they are rare so at the same time im going to be searching for an Integra Type-S. Whichever i find first is what I'm getting. I don't really care about the luxury features of the Integra, but even if i end up with a Type-R, im gonna replace the suspension module with the Integra Type-S cause i hear its just overall better on both the street and track. Its not the same with an Acura badge, its the luxury Type-R.

    Maybe it's just me, the Type S seems like a waste and it is missing that $7k added price over the Type R. No electric trunk, only 5 added horsepower, maybe a weak HUD display, and non-aggressive changing gauge seems like it is lacking features that should be there for $7k. I'd get the Type R and save that money.

    • @vandrosia
      @vandrosia 9 месяцев назад +3

      The only problem is that dealers are marking up the Type R to the same price of, if not more than, the Type S so no cost savings in buying the Type R. I live in South Florida and the dealer markups for both cars are insane.

      I found an ITS for less than the typical CTR. 🤷🏻‍♂
      @daviddoan9447
      7K gives you
      -Rain Sensing wipers
      -Longer Warranty
      -Wider Powerband (Check Savagegeese review includes dyno of both cars)
      -Cooler Exhaust Note
      -Leatherette Interior
      -HUD
      -Door Sill Plates
      -Radar Sensors in the bumpers
      -Sound Deadening
      -Aggressive body kit
      -Premium Sound System
      -Powered Driver Seat with plenty of adjustments
      -Heated Front Seats
      Among other things.
      I don't know you but in my book, that upcharge isn't that crazy. In the end the CTR is more expensive anyway.

  • @zone47

    I like the Acura but the bottom line is actually $9,000 and some change over the type R. I like the looks of the Civic better, the seats are better, it's lighter, the Civic wide body is built into the body and doesn't look tacked on like the Acura, I might however like the softer Acura suspension module better. Even if they were the same price I think I'd still buy the type R. I'm glad Acura is back and it's a nice option for some people.

    Its a cool car but wouldn't say this carries the same amount of sreet cred that the Type R has.
    I've seen like 3 Type S' in Ontario so far but only seen 2 FL5 Type R here. 1 parked in front of a private hotel and another grounded in the dealership due to back order on its fuelpump
    And I'd also say the dealerships here are mostly family-owned and not directly linked to Honda Japan or whatever and so if they tell you they're not selling a Type R to you for anything less than $25K+ markup, there's nothing you can do to take it up with Honda HQ really. - Thought therebwas canadian regulation against markups by auto sellers though ?
    The Honda Motocompacto also released in the US 2 weeks ago, went to a Honda dealership in the GTA to ask if they had any and all the sales reps on the showroom floor were all stunned when i showed them the video of it, they said they hadn't received any communication from Honda on the release of it.
    I think it will make good content for you to cover what the purchase process of the Motocompacto for a Canadian enthusiast looks like and if folks should cop the Motocompacto for quick rides to places around their neighborhood. Cheers

      M240i xDrive if you want the faster, more comfortable luxury car, and if you want to slide it. Type S is the better handling in general for autocross and tracking, also more space. Personally I'd take the M240i

      I got mine at MSRP, and all of the CTR's I cross shopped it against had markups that brought it to the same price or higher. I waited several months until I found a dealer in driving distance of where I live that was willing to do a deal at MSRP. This was last September when I bought it, and I bet now you can find many more around MSRP.
      Full disclosure, I have an s2k that I track, but this car is so good I'm seriously considering taking it to the track this spring. It's that good!@@Sleepygarage

    • @lionary

      Road & Track PCOTY says otherwise (as far as price goes). Also, as I stated in response to another comment: The experts picked the ITS--better gearbox, better steering, better brakes, better chassis/weight/handling, better practicality, better reliability . . . Seems the BMW's only advantages are powerful engine and more luxurious interior (if you can afford to pay to equip it similarly to the ITS).

      One can argue why spend 65k on an unreliable vehicle, while the Acura Integra is 53k USD?
      Anyone can spend 8k on tuning and add ons on the base model Acura Integra starting at 31k to achieve the same features, level of performance, and more for a total of $39k.

      1. Physics; push vs pull - will always be a factor.
      2. Climate (I get snow here).
      3. Cheaper built, still an economy car at the end of the day.

      Wao, were people get this incorrect information?
      It doesn't pump fake exhaust noises. The sound is real. So real that you need to lower the windows to truly enjoy it.
      No module will make a CTR sound like an ITS. It needs an Hondata reflash with the ITS pops and bangs feature enabled. Plus needs to ditch a resonator.

    • @fidelj3025
      @fidelj3025 7 месяцев назад

      @Marbind yes there's a sound module to the left of the glove compartment, there's different part number for the CTR and ITS. There's also two different Active Damper Modules, one for the ITS and CTR. Reasons why I know is because I have a DE5 ITS
