I never thought the new integra would be out of what I wanna spend on a car. Even the FK8's by me with 40k are going for MSRP in 2018. This car is exactly what I want though.
funny you said that. Back in the 90's, buying a manual car was supposed to be the cheaper alternative to buying an automatic. Now buying a manual is far more expensive/luxury than buying a car that is auto.
I'm glad you think it's murdered looks in a good way, but it's super subtle in my opinion. I saw one in town but I didn't even notice it at first, it even had those wheels, had to do a double take.

00:59 Sorry guys, you made a mistake. 1 kilowatt equals 1.34 HP or BHP in the UK and the US. But equals 1.36 PS in DIN or JIS standards. Officially the K20C1 in the Type-R was 316 HP (320 PS in DIN or JIS) in the US & Canada, the Integra Type S was 320 HP (324 PS in DIN or JIS). Regardless, you shouldn't use HP instead of metric horsepower (PS) measurements in this video. P.S.: The Japanese Spec Type-R was 243 kilowatts equals 330 PS (in DIN or JIS standards) and 326 HP in the US, UK and Canada.
@@TheStraightPipes No, the numbers are facts that HP (or BHP) is not equals to metric horsepower in DIN or JIS standard. 1 HP = 1.014 PS in DIN or JIS standard. (DIN means German Institute for Standardization, JIS means Japanese industrial Standards) The Honda Integra Type S is officially 239 kW, if you multiplies 1.34 is 320 HP. But if you multiplies 1.36 is 325 PS. In Canada, you should use 1 kW equals 1.34 BHP rather than 1.36 in DIN or JIS standards cuz in Canada it should be using Imperial Measurements. Again, regardless. You should not mix HP and metric horsepower.
@@TheStraightPipes What were you guys thinking? Imperial Measurements are not same as Metric Measurements. If you mixed them, no one will trust official numbers. You should stop doing this.
I think it's amazing that Acura did a manual ONLY model at ALL for one thing. I love the type-S I think it looks sexy, and it seems to perform great, but after watching Doug's video about some of the pretty significant features it's missing being a "luxury" variant, and given the price I just could never justify this car. If it were 10k cheaper maybe but for the 50k price tag, plus obvious dealer markups, there's no way I'd buy that over something from Mercedes, BMW, or Audi at that price range. I could get a late model S4 for very similar price with similar if not better performance and much better features

@@norwegianblue2017 The DC2 ITR and the new Integra Type S both deleted the sunroof for one reason: to increase body rigidity. Your $22k DC5's price tag would equate to $38k today accounting for inflation, or roughly the same as a brand new 6MT Integra A-Spec w/Technology. My 2003 3.2TL Type S was $35k brand new, but accounting for inflation would cost nearly $58k today accounting for inflation, or roughly the same as a new TLX Type S. All things considered, modern cars absolutely cost more on paper than the cars of the past, but you can't deny that we get a lot more car for the money nowadays.
@@tarlus12 Yes, cars are faster and more feature-laden than before. The problem is that, increasingly, only the upper classes can afford to buy them new. All I can say is that, as a reasonably young person with okay paying job, I was able to afford a brand new S-Class Acura without overextending myself. Can we say this today? The average American cannot afford even an average new car these days.
That transition at the start was dope
I had a Type-R back in the day.
It was blue.
Then it was stolen.
EMOTIONAL DAMAGE.
Blue ? Never seen a blue one - gotta go google it
Growing up in the southeast US, in high school and college there were a lot of Persian or yugoslavian or eastern european or central asian kids who moved there from Toronto or surrounding areas..they're dream car was always a modded out yellow M3 coupe with a huge wing and giant subwoofers w/upgraded sound system..this was from 1996 to 2004 era..the actual ballers (persian/eastern european kids/etc.) drove 140 chassis S class mercedes sedans or coupes with rims and a few mods, one drop lower ballers drove modded E38 BMW 7 series, then high school kids with well off parents drove used M3's with mods, then the kids with upper middle class parents made to with used integra type R's with mods or heavily modded civic type R's, then the kids w/middle class parents drove much older heavily used Civic SI's with mods, then the lower class kids just hitched rides with the wealthier kids cuz they usually didn't even have a car or had a car that was way too embarrassing for them to bring to the house parties, clubs (all the kids had fake ID's back then and everyone started going clubbing to the techno/house/trance/eurodance music night clubs starting at age 15), classy restaurants/lounges/bars in their very low rent cars..plus we all knew that a ton of good looking or slutty but sexy women were gonna be there, so everyone wanted to look cool with the cool late 90's George Clooney flip up haircuts, Gucci or Versace sunglasses, old used but still "baller" Rolex watches, gucci shoes, designer jeans and leather jackets and very cool designer shirts and rings/bracelets/necklaces etc.. everyone wanted to be seen as baller and as a future successful businessman since that's what the girls wanted...everyone blasted very loud 90's eurotechno/euro highenergy dance music from their cars and everyone street raced, almost never got caught...hardly any police around back then, no cameras anywhere, no cell phone cameras critically..different world...went partying and hanging out til 8am at least a couple times a week, every week, for many years...man those days like that will never return...

You might not see another Acura press car after that thumbnail 😂
It's amazing how much better it looks with those lights.
I’m buying a used NSX before I drop 65-70k on a FWD turbo car. Still love the new type s! Just not the price tag.
That drum and bass intro was BEAUTIFUL!
I thought that was real and my dreams were shattered
Glad I came to comments before the video started saved 18min 🙏
I love this car and everything about it. I'd take it over the CTR any day of the week! 😍 Definitely glad it DOESN'T have a big wing but damn, no sunroof??
No one likes sun roofs as a hardcore enthusiasts
@@lbcitylacounty90810 I'm asking for all the NON "hardcore enthusiasts"
Are the early 2020s the new renaissance of hot hatches/ manual 4 bangers? From this Acura Integra Type S to the Civic Type R to the Corolla GR to the Veloster N (not to mention Golf GTI or R & others I'm forgetting)! Yes the GR is a 3 cylinder but it's the exception. Good times for car enthusiasts looking for fun, relatively practical cars in/ around the $50K mark🚗
Acura TLX Type S owner here.. Acura quality and reliability is not where it seems to be. I owned the Aspec 2021 tlx and had a bunch of electrical issues (carplay, puddle lights, steering rack, speakers ect) Now i have the Type S and have TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. They already replaced one and the new one is acting up. Just letting everyone know.
Integra type s or TLX type s?
@ tlx
I see hints of the Legend in the rear around the brake lights and hatch lid. It's ok but the front end is great!
In the future, I wonder which one will hold its value more the Civic Type R or the Acura Integra type S
That was the single greatest thumbnail ever!
SWEET TRANSITION BETWEEN 3 CARS! 🎉
I never thought the new integra would be out of what I wanna spend on a car. Even the FK8's by me with 40k are going for MSRP in 2018. This car is exactly what I want though.
You just think you want it, save ya monies
The exhaust is on point! Only thing missing is adding in their in house dct
Disgusting. It should be illegal to give it an automatic.
LoL can't be that bad 😮
@fortheloveofnoise9298 An automatic is bad but not a DCT lol. Yall can row gears in southern ca traffic all yall want lol
Oh, that still image at the beginning of the video sold me out to be here salivating already 😂
They finally got an exhaust right, they did the civic type R dirty 😵💫😂
This channel is subpar , throttle house is way more enjoyable and informative and I'm not screamed at ...this is like teenagers reviewing cars
Little bit of a rude comment. What’s wrong with letting your inner teenager out when driving a fun car.
@@TheStraightPipes good thing it had CONTINENTAL CONTI CONTACTS FOR MAXIMUM GRIP REEEE
I’m not in Japan but we want the Type S in Japan! 😂
Intro edits had me scratching my head until I remembered who I’m dealing with. Pretty dope guys
Now, this requires a direct comparisson between the TLX Type S and the Integra Type S.
I am a big fan of Volkswagen Golf R. But, this car really changed my mind. Good work Acura motors.
Manual become a luxury feature these days, how time does fly!
funny you said that. Back in the 90's, buying a manual car was supposed to be the cheaper alternative to buying an automatic. Now buying a manual is far more expensive/luxury than buying a car that is auto.
Man that render looks so much better than the real one :D
The backend is drop-dead gorgeous
Looks great, still hate that they called it an Integra, but I'm with you guys, I'll take this over the CTR for sure. #mrgooseboughtthewronghonda
Would make a sick RSX
You nailed in the thumbnail. No pun.
The market adjustment on these and the Type R will be a complete non-starter.
Have a tuned focus ST. This is the first car that had me thinking about a new car in the last 5 years.
Someone is going to do this front end conversion. I can feel it.
If I owned it I would....but if I am buying a brand new car, I am gonna buy RWD and convertible.....so Miata or Mustang or Camaro.
Anything Acura it’s a must Like for me! Quality, reliability, comfort it’s all there
you guys are getting better at Photoshop 😅
I'm glad you think it's murdered looks in a good way, but it's super subtle in my opinion. I saw one in town but I didn't even notice it at first, it even had those wheels, had to do a double take.
It’s awesome, but for another $3 grand I’m in an M240i XDrive.
Wow! Seeing you two and Joe Raiti together is my Avengers: Endgame level of RUclips crossovers. Hope that you all do a video together one day.
I hate that I like this,lol.. the price is starting to make sense or I'm starting to make it make sense 😂 if they mark these up id stay away MSRP makes sense
Honestly am I wrong for saying that this is a grown up version of the type R, because this is looking awesome!!!

Sorry guys, you made a mistake.
Naw I don’t think we did
@@TheStraightPipes No, the numbers are facts that HP (or BHP) is not equals to metric horsepower in DIN or JIS standard.
1 HP = 1.014 PS in DIN or JIS standard. (DIN means German Institute for Standardization, JIS means Japanese industrial Standards)
The Honda Integra Type S is officially 239 kW, if you multiplies 1.34 is 320 HP.
We want to type S in Japan!!(Im Japanese)
I’ll take your word for it!
Best designed Acura ever 👏🏼
I think it's amazing that Acura did a manual ONLY model at ALL for one thing. I love the type-S I think it looks sexy, and it seems to perform great, but after watching Doug's video about some of the pretty significant features it's missing being a "luxury" variant, and given the price I just could never justify this car. If it were 10k cheaper maybe but for the 50k price tag, plus obvious dealer markups, there's no way I'd buy that over something from Mercedes, BMW, or Audi at that price range. I could get a late model S4 for very similar price with similar if not better performance and much better features
after the markups, i'd just go get a m3
Or build a sweet 90’s one for that price
This car looks so much better than the regular Integra! At the 0:02-0:04 mark it looks like the new integra is racing it’s ghost the original integra. Not sure if that was done on purpose, but I thought it was funny. Lol
we want the typeS in japan😂❤
I agree on the circular headlights. This is good, still wish they made a coupe version.
