At number 20 the quote from Diablo is actually a reference for Diablo 1 when the character that you are playing enters the catacombs and says: "The smell of death surrounds me" Interesting one there...

Wow, that's really sad second expansion was cancelled.
Interestingly, A game from similiar time frame, Age of Empires 2, receives new updates every so often and got 2 new expansions, including the infamous Roberto Barbosa African Kingdoms and has a thriving community. It's not impossible to revitalize Diablo 2 since new content would be dirt-cheap to make and the game still has an active fan-base. Imagine a Diablo 2 Remaster, if you will, with new content, updated graphics, revitalized multiplayer and no microtransactions, lootboxes, DLC's, preorder bonuses, thus greatly improving Blizzard's image in the eyes of the public.
Ya .. only if, as a fan of diablo 2 that's my response to a remastered version Lol, That will happen before i win the lottery... Maybe
They should have worked on the second expansion instead of that Diablo 3 crap!

Sad thing is, the devs would likely make a great of a game without being constrained by publishers and shareholders nagging them into oblivion like a prime evil itself would to the holder of a soulstone.

Another secret. The Statues In The River Of Flame by the portal, they move their heads when you walk by. Never would of noticed it if a friend of my haven't told me about it.

#6 they're not trying to hit you, they're trying to climb out of the lava and are pulled back in. it's actualy really not rare at all and happens all around the river of flame map and it happens at fixed (short) intervals
My greatest deception in life is that i have like, 1 billion hours in diablo 2,both classic and lod, single and multi, and never, never, dropped a soj in my life

I have ~25k hours as a conservative estimate and got my first soj drop just last week.

I remember when I was new to D2 and traded 8 soj for a shako. In return I got a gemmed cap with an emerald. Yes I fell for it and I was pissed

Well, a Shako is nothing but a Leather Cap (in the highest tier).
What you mean is a Halequinns Crest (which is a unique version of Shako).
But nonetheless you've been screwed heavily

I found out about those hidden rooms in Act 1 like four years ago. I was very surprised. Lovely how you can still find new stuff in this game.

The skeletons in the lava is most likely tormented victims desperately but futily trying to get out of the torment that is the lava

About the sound, the sound feature of bob the robber game on hudgames is also a clear one to hear of as it really sounded much absolutely in a good way..
After playing Diablo II pretty much since it was originally launched, I have just recently noticed that at the end of the river of flame / entry to Diablo's sanctuary the statues would turn their heads to always face the character..! I know.. amazing huh? 😛

I do Remember that one of the items that also changed was the Stormshield, back in an earlier version was different, had different design and abilities
It's been forever since I've played D2. I did know about the stones of Jordan being used as currency though because that's how it was when I played it.
Wish I had that Azurewrath drop after 1.08 but with that unique look - worth it.

"an evil force" is not the actual name of the cathedral windows, it just means that the actual name couldn't be found by the game (like missingno).
I also think that the skeletons in act4 don't attack, but there is something similar in mephisto's room with critters that actually do attack (but I'm not sure I remember this one right).

I distinctly remember, prior to the D2 expansion, the forums were already saying Assassin would be a class because Natalya was a hint about it. I remember not being surprised about the class when it was announced formally. What *did* surprise me was them remaking the Necro for D3.

How can you put SoJ as currency under things people don't know. If you played the game on battle.net, that's a requirement to know.
Yeah. A lot of us that have played since classic know many of these.
Plus, I bet a lot of people started later on too when HRs took over as currency.
Remember trading 35 SoJs for a 915 Eth Ith CB. So they were still used as currency during .09 patch well into the Expansion.

2:21 Lava skeletons - I would say, that the skeleton is not trying to hit you, it is trying to climb out of the lava (out of his suffering). It is hell after all.
did anyone ever get a SUPERIOR horadric cube? lol because MrLlamaSC recently had it on his barbarian plugy speedrun and he was like wtf, nobody in chat has seen if before and google didn't help either

I'm not sure, he just opened his inventory at one point and noticed that its name is superior horadric cube, it was hilarious lol. you can see it on his channel, it's a barbarian plugy speedrun from few weeks ago I think. and agreed, that really is incredible.

it's just a plugy mod. I use it sometimes too, it shouldn't affect stuff like that. but I guess it's possible it has something to do with it. still, never heard of that happening ever.
Uchiha Madara PlugY doesn't change the game in itself, it just allows experiencing online content in singleplayer mode and it allows you to collect your items and share them between your characters. In my opinion it's the perfection of Diablo II but i understand if you want to play the game in its original state
Been playing d2 for so long and never had any clue about secret monastery compartments or skeletons floating out from River Of Flame.

Number 21 for you:Geed from rogue encampment is from diablo 1.he escaped tristram and came to rogue encampment.He was the travelling or just a merchant and still is :)

Soj’s were currency during LOD as well. I was like 13 but I remember them going for almost nothing then being the most wanted item over night. I think the rust storm it was called got rid of a bunch of them so the value went up. That was all during lod I never played before lod

Maybe most of you already knows but beside the barb only the assa has a unique animation for the skills leap and leap attack.
And the arctic blast skill uses the jumping animation as well therefore the amazon disappears during cast while the barb and the assa casts this skill mid-air. And the unique sword Frostwind gives you this bugged skill. What a shame.

Windforce is an expansion item. But soj were still currency even up til patch 1.09.
Then hrs replaced it. (And d2jsp of course.)
Windforce was good back then though.
Guild thing was a great idea, still is, I want it, like now.
somethings you didn't know. on uswest you could get hex charms. 90 STR, 90 sex, 90 vit. small charms. also came in an energy version. They were the trade value over sojs in 1.09. also had white gloves and boots. That gave 90 all stats 90 ias, 90 fhr, and run walk. on useast. They had occyrings. Which was an Oculus orb mixed with an soj ring. this was my favorite. also had ith blades and zephry bows. look them up for more info.

The second expansion named Salvation with the two extra classes and the guilds idea would be cool to be added to Diablo 2. Just like the idea of a remaster is great also.

Actually Blizzard North started Flagship Studios to work on Hellgate: London which was going to be D3 first/third person.
Please make more of these after the Remaster comes out
Here is something I don't think you know. I got the "Evil Force" glass to spawn in a game with a druid and noticed that while I was around the glass the spirit which took damage during a fight would not heal up. I stayed a while to make sure of this effect and sure enough that glass seems to prevent summons from being able to heal up.

This brings back memories. A unidentified Wind Force sells for 40 SoJ. If you id’ed and the stats weren’t good, it sold for 30 or 35. I used to bot farm for a bit and found a Wind Force. Sold it for 40 SoJ. My first Diablo 2 sales
Knew only about #17 here...found it out in one of my earliest runs by dumb luck.
Act 5.There are two Barbarians below Larzuk,one wandering about and the other cooking some meat.The one wandering about will follow you if you go down to that little area.
I am playing Path of Diablo mod and the 2nd barbarian seems missing so I wonder if he is removed in more recent patches or if it's just the mod.
