Wow, you just changed the game for me!! I can't have regular condensed milk that I see in stores because the high sugar content makes me sick. I didn't realize I could so easily just make condensed milk at home and substitute in a no-sugar sweetener that is safe for me. Thank you so much for this!!

Made this using *low-fat milk*
RECIPE FOR LOW-FAT MILK: (adjust to needs)
- use 400ml milk (makes about 150ml condensed milk)
- 1 cup sugar
Then place on stove on high, takes about 30 minutes (depends on the amount of milk)
Wait till it puffs and rises 3 times and keep stirring during these times then after turn heat to medium
Remove when thick after the 3 ‘puffs’ (can check using a spatula swipe on pan)
Cool down till good consistency for you :))

Whaaaaaat. This is a game changer for the holidays. Never buying canned again.
I would highly recommend not doing that as all dessert recipe which include condensed milk are acc to the canned ones which have the same thickness and sugar for all companies so using home made could ruin the whole recipe,but if you just want to make something simple or use your own recipe then this should be good

but to be honest the canned stuff is cheap and convenient. and there are even keto condensed milk options.
Add a pinch of baking soda at the end for extra creamy n glassy texture.
One ingredient he forgot to mention is patience. It’s very important when making this 💀

Oh I love eating it on its own. Sadly, the price of condensed milk here has literally tripled in some stores and stores that sell cheaper, are out of stock for a fee months at a time.
I will have to resort to making my own.
You can buy evaporate milk which is the same thing except evaporate don't contain sugar.... However, you can mix sugar and the evaporate milk on the stove until sugar disappears and there you have sweet condensed milk
Both products the water is removed from the milk by heating it up

Condensed milk is so good one of my favourite childhood snacks was to spread condensed milk on plain white bread and eat just as it is so good

That's indeed quite simple! In Chile, we usually put cans of condensed milk in boiling water for a couple hours (around 4 hours, precisely) to turn it into "Manjar". It caramelize the sugar in the milk and make it even thicker!

I actually use it as syrup for my homemade pancake, well it's not really homemade considering Iput like Oreos in it but yeah, and here's how I make it..
1 - one cup of flour
2 - powdered milk
3 - crushed Oreos (5 of them)
4 - taste spoon of sugar
And you mix em all up
5 - egg
6 - cup of water
And you mix it all up as well
7 - butter the pan
And then you basically cook em like pancakes
And lastly, 8 - Iput em in a plate and put condenced milk on it, and that's it.. yep
