- Baked CHILE RELLENOS Mexican Dinner Idea with no meat. Love chile rellenos but hate the frying process? Check out my version baking these chile rellenos in the oven without losing any of the delicious flavor. This is a vegetarian dish. I even show you a one can ingredient for the red sauce for the chile rellenos to sit on while baking. I have a quick and easy way to roast these mild poblano peppers that I use for my Baked Chile Rellenos. Same here in San Diego. I’ve never heard them pronounced the way Ms. Catherine does😊 In Spanish when there are two L’s together, they are pronounced as a Y.

I love this idea. Making them the traditional way is a lot more work. Catherine just so that you know. 2 ll's together in Spanish are pronounced as a y. So like tortillas are pronounced tor te yas and rellenos is pronounced reyenos. Took me a while to learn this when I was learning Spanish.

You have no idea how much I appreciate recipes that allow you to bake instead of fry. I was in an accident which left me in a wheelchair. The first time I tried to fry something on the stove top after that, the grease popped me in the face since my face is at stove level in this wheelchair. So I decided I shouldn't do that. LOL I have had to adapt recipes to baking or air frying, but not everything can be air fried. I love chili rellenos, so thank you so much for sharing this! God bless you, I love your recipes!

Thanks for this one always wanted to know how to roast poblano peppers in the oven. I might add some Spanish rice or beans or corn to fill it out so that you don’t have to use so much cheese since it is a bit expensive right now.

I know someone had to have a video of baking whole chile rellenos. I love chile relleno burritos. I thought what if I make my chile rellenos in a casserole and then I can pop one out and put it in a wrap and smother it with green chile.

@Catherine’s Plates I am Deaf and use Closed Captions to read & know what you are saying. You said you added Clove Soda. I looked online to see where I can buy that near me. But it keeps saying things like Clove Powder, Cloves, Clove Extract. So I thought maybe there wasn’t one near me, so decided to get some from Amazon, and again can’t find Clove Soda. I was wondering what is the company brand that sells Clove Soda? So that I can buy them direct from the company. Thank you so much. Many of your dishes looks delicious. I’ve tried several already. Ps, btw, these look soooooo yummy if they really aren't hot. I can handle the heat of pepper jack cheese. In fact its probably just the right amount of heat for me. I like a litttle heat...just not steam coming out of my ears heat!!!

It all depends. On what I don’t know lol! I’ve had poblanos that were extremely mild and I’ve also had poblanos that were so dang spicy I couldn’t eat it. It’s a crapshoot 😂 Good luck🤞🏼

@@donnanichols6838 Oh sweetie, I don’t want to discourage you from trying this recipe. I absolutely LOVE spicy food, but unfortunately the older I get the less my stomach can handle it😣 I think you should give it a go - just make sure to remove all seeds and membranes from the chiles. If it turns out too spicy, you can always give it to family or a friend who can handle the heat👍🏼
I've never had a Poblano that I couldn't eat and I'm not into spicey food like my husband. But I do know that spicey is a personal thing.
@@CatherinesPlates You’ve been very lucky lol! Out here in San Diego it’s a gamble. Chile Rellenos are my favorite and there have been times that the poblanos were so hot my mouth was on fire🥵
Love it.. I use ANAHIEMS (i enjoy ROASTING those myself.. my PARENTS WERE from the SOUTHWEST ) Ive ADAPTED to POBLANOS as well as they're more widely used by Mexicans.
I can also help you with your PROUNCIATION of CHILE 'RELLENO' ❤😊 Thing is .. in another Comment it was pointed out how you did not pronounce RELLENO correctly..So, ill try to help with the pronounciation. Here's a SPELLING or "PHONETIC" or Speech sound..say, RE-YEN-NOS instead. Whenever there is a Double LL it should be pronounced as a Y sound. Nevertheless, Enjoy your accent and Videos! 😅 Lol. 🎉 thank you. ❤❤

Sounds good. Just an fyi - two "Ls" are pronounced like "y" in Spanish. This would be pronounced "ray-ahn-oh".

It’s pronounced Re yeno. The double ll is pronounced with a y in Spanish.

I've never had a hot Poblano, but some folks say they have.
