    Who is Ron Spomer
    For 44 years I’ve had the good fortune to photograph and write about my passion - the outdoor life. Wild creatures and wild places have always stirred me - from the first flushing pheasant that frightened me out of my socks in grandpa’s cornfield to the last whitetail that dismissed me with a wag of its tail. In my attempts to connect with this natural wonder, to become an integral part of our ecosystem and capture a bit of its mystery, I’ve photographed, hiked, hunted, birded, and fished across much of this planet. I've seen the beauty that everyone should see, survived adventures that everyone should experience. I may not have climbed the highest mountains, canoed the wildest rivers, caught the largest fish or shot the biggest bucks, but I’ve tried. Perhaps you have, too. And that’s the essential thing. Being out there, an active participant in our outdoor world.

    I use the Axil GS 2.0 electronics. Man, they're so good. Used them for target shooting and raccoon hunting so far and they're mint. Can also play music on them while still using the enhancement as well.

      Can they connect to my pc and computer too 😂 I seen that some have microphones too is that like for a radio only or is it like an overall one

    I have electronic hearing protection and I was blown away the first time I used it. Very cool how it instantaneously activates to cancel out the noise from shooting a gun while also actively enhancing particular frequencies.

    Hearing Protection, I could give a presentation on this, the single loaders, bolt action, you will lose some hearing but the blow back the semis that use blow back gas is what damages, the semi autos.
    What people really need to know, ANYTHING above 80dB will damage your hearing, if anyone says different they are lying.

    • @Niilo2.2
      @Niilo2.2 Год назад +2

      "Anything above 80dB will damage hearing", yes, but it depends on the durarion. 120 decibels for example will damage your hearing even of its like 2 seconds. But you can listen to sound of 90decibels to about 15 minutes without any (permanent, atleast) damage to hearing.
      Anything under 50 decibels is considered completely safe.

    • @geraldblackburn4883
      @geraldblackburn4883 Год назад

      @@Niilo2.2 I believe in genetics, and certain people can take a few gun shots and not have any real loss, but others could run a vacuum at 75 dB and record hearing loss.

    Absolutely love, electronic noise, cancellation if it’s in earmuffs or hearing aids, you can talk to the people that you’re shooting with instead of yelling like you have to do with regular ear plugs are old school muffs

      ProEars gold muffs would help. They amplify sound 8x and have 29db protection. You can amplify each muff separately to compensate for weak hearing in either ear

      Tetra is one solid brand. Axil is another. Axil has a new wireless unit Model XCOR that is pretty effective. So is the wired unit, and that version you're less likely to loose during aggressive activity.

      @@GuitarGuy650 Nonsense. they make electrical comtacs (LITERALLY WHAT THE VIDEO IS ABOUT) that both protect your hearing and amplify sounds such as what you described. again, no point in hunting without ear protection unless you enjoy tinnitus and permanent hearing damage.

    How about just, you know, have those earplugs on a cord and plug them in right before taking the shot? Why spend so much money on a gadget?

    • @jaythus3181
      @jaythus3181 Год назад

      Sometimes you don't have the ability to. Say you're turkey hunting for example, you're going to be on the ground and the game might run off from the movement of putting the earplugs in or your ear muffs on, and if you're deer hunting on the ground good luck cause as soon as you go to put them in its likely going to run off, especially by the time you get you're gun or bow up, unless it's behind a tree when you do these. That's the sort of scenario these help with. You can get some on the cheaper side for like $30-$60 on sale and while they don't usually amplify the quiet sounds, they do let you hear roughly as well as you normally would up to a certain decimal, if you're comparing that to a pair of $20 non-electronic muffs or the better $10 non-electric ear plugs it's usually worth the money although the cheap ones are so so. If you feel being able to hear the lower sounds like turkey purring and stuff from farther away is worth the extra money for the ones that let you tune the sound then go for it. Some gadgets are a waste of money, but electronic ear pro is worth it imo.
