      I will say though, tom McCarthy is super super underrated. He just strikes me as a 100% Pennsy guy, you hear it in the annunciation. Plus he just comes across as a baseball guy. Seems like he would pull a chair up next to ya at a bar or restaurant. And talk baseball all night.

      The player who had the greatest amount of impact in the shortest amount of time to that franchise has to be Roy Halladay. Two no hitters in one season, and the only other postseason no-hitter ever thrown. The man was very clutch. It was Roy who was on the mound when the Phillies clinched the 2010 division title. And he was on the mound in the 9th inning finishing that game with a freaking shutout if I remember right.

    I know now that most people probably forget that Mat Stairs HR WAY back in 2008 but it was SOOOOOOO huge. Broxton the LA reliever was a beast. Stairs on the other hand was a nobody.

    All such great moments. Something about Stairs going deep in that game vs. the Dodgers, though. He crushed it.

    What an absolutely horrific call by Joe Buck on Matt Stairs. Wow.

    • @NothingifnotInconsistent
      @NothingifnotInconsistent  3 года назад

      Really? It widely considered one of the best calls in Phillies history, a lot of people hate on Joe Buck just for being Joe Buck and I did too for a long time but now that I’ve given him a chance I find that he’s a perfectly mediocre commentator who has his good moments, I think Tom McCarthy holds an almost identical position

    • @jeffreytagliareni5291

      @@NothingifnotInconsistent I dont hate him for football. That was a HUGE moment and he had zero enthusiasm. It was like he was in pain.

      Nothing if not Inconsistent
      Buck is not as bad as a lot of people make him out to be. If you read comments from fans of every MLB and NFL team they ALL think he’s biased against their teams. Definitely not just a Philly thing.

    • @Batony
      @Batony 3 года назад

      Joe Buck is average at best. He has gotten better over the years, but he is still average. Certainly not good enough to be calling the last 20 World Series. He’s ruined so many highlights and there are plenty of current announcers way better than him.

    • @freeparking301
      @freeparking301 3 года назад

      Many of Buck’s calls involving Philadelphia sports show his contempt for the city. There’s a reason why MLB has Kalas’ 2008 World Series call on their page. Hell I muted my tv and put the radio on for that game.
