flying austrian air economy in a few months, I am so excited!!
Sounds awesome! Hope you enjoy it, safe travels!
Nice video
Nice Video.
Love the 767 I flew on West Jet 767- 300 from London Gatwick to Edmonton in 2016 and everything about the flight was excellent.
By the way what back ground music was you playing at the start of the video?
Glad you enjoyed. I too love the 767, I think the 2-3-2 seating is extremely underrated! The first song was “Good Old Days” by Joakim Karud.
Taking this exact flight in December!
Awesome!! Happy travels ✈️
Me too! 😀 I’m traveling home to Slovakia! 😄
❤❤❤ i LOVE IT AND VIDEO IS AWESOME 👌 👏 😍 😎 ❤❤
Thanks!
I’m taking this exact flight in November.
Hope you have a wonderful trip!
Hi - I am traveling soon on Long haul on Austrian. In your video I see a lot of passengers with regular surgical masks, not the FFP2 masks, which are so hard to breathe through. When was your flight and did they allow the regular blue masks for passengers? Thanks in advance.
I agree- those masks are horrid. When I flew this flight (summer 2021) you could wear any type, including washable cloth masks. Unfortunately now I think they will make you wear an FFP2 mask, from their website: “Due to the current Corona Ordinance of the Austrian Federal Government, masks in the form of a FFP2 are compulsory during your journey with Austrian Airlines until further notice.”
@@JourneyingwithJosiah okay thanks for the info! Appreciated!!
Hello, I was trying to judge the space underneath the seat for the personal item. Flying in a few days, and my backpack which I want to use as a personal item is sitting at 9 inches thick. I'm a bit worried because Austrian's website lists personal items as not being more than 4 inches thick. But it seems there's more space under the seat than that?
Yeah you should have no problem fitting a backpack that size there, and if not you can probably put it in an overhead bin. Hope you have a nice trip! Let me know if you have any other questions :)
@@JourneyingwithJosiah Thank you so much for the response! That's very reassuring to hear. Um, I do have one more question, but it's a bit of a silly beginner question xD I've never flown internationally before, and I've also never had to check luggage before but I think I'm going to have to for this trip. What is it like when you land? Do you get your luggage first or do you have to go through passport checks first?
@@deci2002 Oh haha no worries! You’ll get your luggage at the baggage claim after all the passport checks.
@@JourneyingwithJosiah Ahh I see, that's good to know. Thank you very much again, I really appreciate it! :)
When you say the passengers board the plane by rows, is that with the rearmost seats boarding first, or those in the front?
By rows I mean more like by columns, haha. Boarding was done by groups according to class and then according to which type of seat you're in (window, middle, aisle). business.lufthansagroup.com/ae/en/news/news-boarding-by-groups
My flight will be next week so what should I do with (covid 19 documents) on the austrian airlines website?
Just make sure to wear the required FFP2 (N95) mask and bring anything that your destination country requires (tests, passports, etc.). Safe travels!
Can u please tell me about the luggage details like can i have my backpack which contains my laptop and other stuff, a handbag and the main suitcase with me or just the main suitcase and my backpack is enough
Officially I believe you can only bring a carry-on suitcase and one other small item (backpack or purse) on the plane with you. But to be honest, I think most women would be able to get away with a carry-on suitcase and both a backpack and a purse.
Do they check your bag size and weight for carryons and personal items??
No, they did not, but I do think that if your carry on bag is visibly oversized they would pull you aside. I believe they turn a blind eye to weight if everything looks normal.
is Austrian airline safe? I'm flying from IAD to vienna, then from Vienna to Bosnia. I'm a bit nervous.
Austrian has an excellent safety record.
Yes, they are very safe. I wouldn't have any fear flying any airline in the European Union.
Will my Bluetooth headphones connect to the entertainment? Or do I have to use wired headphone only?
Good question. Right now, only Qatar Airways, United, and Delta have TVs on certain aircraft that can connect to personal bluetooth headphones. I would recommend bringing your own wired headphones if you have any... if not you'll have to use theirs.
@@JourneyingwithJosiah Thank you! Lastly, as far as power banks are concerned, I know that if you have more than 165 watts, you cannot bring it on the plane, but how could they actually find out? Like, could you just bring your power bank and they wouldn't know how many watts it is?
@@chadhemsoth7974 Honestly I didn't even know there were power bank restrictions before your comment, haha. I've never had them inspect mine, so you should be good unless its strangely larger than the average.
@@JourneyingwithJosiah So like, you bring ur power bank with on carry on? And when it goes through the scanner, they dont have you pull out or check on it or anything?
@@chadhemsoth7974 That's right. I even travel with a camera bag with large camera batteries and I have never had them search that. I only pull out my laptop/Ipad.
Are they safe? I’m a fearful flyer and taking them soon to Vienna 😮
I have absolutely no fear flying with them. They are a very reputable airline that has not had any incidents in 50 years.
While they didn't have any accidents in 50 years, they did have incidents ;)
Was the plane full?
I'd say around 90% full in Economy.
Do they serve alcohol ?
You got the distance wrong
It’s about 4 k miles
Not one thousand kilometers
Dulles international airport is not in Washington DC it is in Virginia. DCA( Reagan) is the airport for Washington DC
DCA isn't in Washington, either.
Looks average and uninspiring
Exactly... I flew last summer from Chicago to Vienna and there is nothing special about it... I like Lufthansa better
