    Regarding the burn in on S95B and A95K, 1st gen QD-OLED uses Hydrogen (Protium) while LG’s EVO WOLEDs use Deuterium which is much more stable, the new 2nd Gen QD-OLED now also has Deuterium which along with the other improvements contributes to the 2x longer life vs the 1st gen.

    • @TecraX2
      @TecraX2 Год назад +21

      Deuterium is one of the isotopes of Hydrogen...

    • @BaSiC47
      @BaSiC47 Год назад +29

      QD-OLED was simply one whole generation ahead of WOLED and this is why LG is now advancing so fast to keep up with Samsung. Also "2x longer life" is a classic marketing phrase. Even 1st gen QD OLED shines next to most other TVs right now.

      LG's just desperate that people don't care about woled as much, they literally took one article that wasnt even complete and decided to run with it.
      Proclaiming their TV is less prone to burn in and trying to go to Hollywood professionals just shows desperation. Hollywood uses expensive mastering monitors which can do 1000 nits full screen with completely accurate colors, they're not gonna switch to a consumer oled that doesen't reach 300 nits full screen and isn't even color accurate high brightness, it's like how Linus said Lg is overclocking their TVs just to compete especially the brightness on their g3 with heatsink but I won't be surprised if this year too it's A95L > G3 and S95c > C3

      I was a first adopter of a very expensive plasma screen TV (for the time), with claims of burn-in. That was in 2006…and I WISH it has burn-in, so I can justify getting a new OLED. My plasma TV refuses to die. (My point, burn-in should not be a major concern…not unless, as he said…you watch Fox News, CNN with their logo blazing in the corner, all day. Very unlikely).

    But the Sony Oleds with LG panels also had burn-in in that test. It’s not a QD Oled specific issue. The test also didn’t allow for Sonys panel compensation to kick in due to the timing of the on/ off cycles the Rtings chose to use.

    • @shivamarya5225
      @shivamarya5225 Год назад +16

      Rtings have always been biased. Vinvent and Hdtvtest has always been more thorough with his findings anyway. Rtings won't even rate the A95k higher than G2, they'll never admit Sony had better motion and upscaling and they never will rate a Sony higher than lg, not with A90J, not with A95K

    • @PantsaBear

      @@shivamarya5225 More so than that, RTINGS are interested in quantifying everything into scores, even when the attribute being described is purely subjective. This leads to misunderstandings and bad comparisons
      According to ratings, the audio quality on my Arctis gaming headset is comparable with the audio on my $900 Focal headphones. Spoilers, it isn't lol, both have their own use case. But nothing on RTINGS denotes this because of them needing to constantly judge everything 1-10. Not everything is that simple
      That's an audio comparison, but I've found they do this in many sectors on their website including TVs

The POINT is ( yes I shouted ) we were bs'd about QD-OLED gen 1 being so much better in this respect - turns out that was a load of crap - tbf think colour volume and brightness sold it - but still would of garnered some sales - Sony and Panasonic in particular on flagship have heat sinks - I have a Panasonic Plasma - no burn in . Anyway great news Gen 2 etc much better - those with old c7 etc will be failing - so good time to upgarde

    Love your content dude!
    I’ll just say this… as a current Sony A80J owner(77”) and prior owner of a C9, no manufacturer on the market is touching Sony’s image processing.
    LG punches up the reds just a bit to give the user a bit more saturated and colorful picture which is VERY pleasing to look at, but the image is still soft especially depending on the source.
    Sony favors a natural and extremely clean, crisp picture with their processing tech. Because of this, the details in the image just POP!
    Every time I play a game or watch a Dolby Vision movie on my A80J, I’m just glued to the picture because of the clarity in the details. Which are most evident and noticeable on a perfect contrast OLED panel.
    I gave my in-law the C9 I had(she had a LED lol) and when I see that TV in her place the colors are very nice. But I notice that softness in the image every time…
    My biggest gripe with my Sony is the lack of full HDMI 2.1 across all ports. But it’s a sacrifice I’ll make for the insane PQ I get!

      I couldn’t agree more. I just returned the LG G2 for the same size 83” A90J. The Sony’s picture is so deep, so real, so 3D it quite frankly makes the LG look terrible in comparison. It’s like you’re watching different content. Once you get used to a Sony OLED there’s no going back. My two year old Sony OLED was better than the G2 by far. And I messed with every picture setting I could with the G2! The A90J looks as good if not better than being there in real life. Love it & shouldn’t have listened to the sales person!

    • @loki76
      @loki76 Год назад

      I think so too. In my situation of using the TV as a PC monitor. That burn in factor matters even more. So a G3 is far more viable IMO than taking a risk on the QDOLED. Even though they updated in Gen2 panels to Deuterium. That Rtings test is damaging to say the least. It's only 2 months of accelerated testing. That is not even 6 months real world use.
      G3 has that warranty too, or at least I hope they still do the 5 year one. That is a big selling point as well.
      QDOLED might be unbeatable for color volume/luminance whatever it's called, lol. But it's not like LG OLED all of a sudden became ugly and useless. It's still OLED. MLA is free brightness as well without affecting the colors. So 10% less good in colors, I'd live with that 10x more than risking burn in happening faster with QDOLED.
      Can't wait to see all reviews for all TVs trickling in this season. G3 and QN95C is my shortlist right now.

      For me Samsung is no longer in the race - later nerfing their TVs in firmware updates (after release and reviews of course) to increase reliability to reduce replacements, make their latest models look better etc. It reminds me of the scummy tactics of some triple-A game devs later adding predatory monetization or other shady stuff after release and good reviews are out. Because of that i literally will no longer touch a Samsung even if they were the exact same performance but half the price.

      And i don't get why Caleb doesen't have a mastering monitor himself to actually compare if any tv is pushing highlights or dimming shadow detail on its own instead of preserving creators intent. Clearly that should be a priority for doing tv reviews now that manufacturers are actively trying to get into Hollywood studios. He doesent even break his own news, Vincent did the investigative journalism of finding out about the hdmi 2.1 thing and Caleb just took that info made his video, at least he credited Vincent this time. Caleb gives sage advice for man in the street . Let's get real this event was not for reviewing n detail - Vincent himself takes his time - this was a show case for LG - Caleb gave his opinion that at face value the G3 looked better than the A90K - Most of the Samsung 77" OD-OLED "reviews' out there are just mainly impressions - also Caleb considers price Vincent leaves that up to us - as I said the shootout between LG 77" MLA are a Sony 77" OD-OLED is worth waiting for - I'm also interested for the 65 Panasonic ( shame not MLA 77" ) - Really as a consumer I hope the G3 s the good , same for gen 2 OD-OLED - Plus saying the Sony is the best last year - is subjective - Samsung was best value , LG best gaming , Panasonic best movies - Sony was rated high in many categories . Some people like Samsungs take on image . Anyway I commented as it was a disservice for no real reason for you to justify - have you seen the G3 ?? - you are basically saying Caleb is a sell out or gullible - at minimum not to be trusted - all because you think the a90k is better than the new G3 - just because - hey you may be right Caleb says otherwise - no point impinging someone - LG probably did set up the showing in those modes - out of the box - that's a lot of reviewers to annoy. Yeah shame about the Pentomic 1000 - hopefully still allows better processing , better dark control , snappier etc . - Caleb's favorite TV last year think was a Sony a X95K 85" from memory - he also prefers Sonys natural look to Samsungs QD-OLED last year . But many have commented LG and Samsung have stepped up this year for processing -Caleb said the G3 was better than G2 - so yeah if you have the money buy a Sony A90L 77"- get that receiver if you need more 48Gbps HDMI channels - but I think those who buy the G3 77" will be just as happy or C3 or Samsung or Panasonic - i still have a plasma - and I'm still really happy with it - even though I know these TVs blow it out of the water

    I work as a sales responsible for AV at a electronics retailer in Denmark, and i walk among these televisions almost everyday, and has done the same thing the past three years on former TV models.
    Since the televisions on display in the store is constantly on and showing content these panels endure a lot of stress, especially the OLEDs. All of the WOLED screens on display is showing signs of permanent image retention after a year on display. (A80K, 707, 807 and two C2s) the S95B and A95K on the other hand is not showing any signs of burn in or IR. All of the TVs are in their standard preset and the QD OLEDs are definitely brighter in this preset as well.
    Note: Every panel setting such as pixel shift is turned ON and compensations cycles are run often.
    I do not have the G2 on display so i can not say what kind of impact the heatsink has on that panel.
    I think it's weird that Rtings findings are the complete opposite of my own. WOLEDs has always burned in when on display, C1, CX and A80J was basically ready to be thrown in the trash after their job was done.
    Maybe the QD OLEDs are more susceptible to burn in on test patterns, rather than real world content?
