Highland Park 12 was my go-to for a few years until I was gifted an 18, and that's when I discovered I had expensive tastes in whisky.
Great work as always, Kevin. Slàinte.
What a coincidence! My wife bought me a Highland Park 18 as one of my first bottles of Scotch. And thank you, Gordon. Slàinte mhòr!
The Highland Park 12 YO and the 18 YO are my to absolute favourites and go to, I also can recomend the 14 YO Loyalty Of The Wolf, which is a bit sweeter than both 12 and 18 but is more diffucult to get hands on
Heather Honey is a monofloral honey variety made from the flowers of the heather plant, part of the Ericaceae family. A low-growing perennial shrub that is native to Europe, it prefers dry acidic soils and has been used as national symbols in Scotland and Norway.
I just got a bottle of this and I dont typically enjoy alcohol much period, save for a few exceptions, but I decided to try something different than the usual cheap $15-20 whiskey bottle I've had in the past and picked up some of this and wow it has changed my whole perspective and sparked a whole new interest for me especially with scotch. I'm sure Highland 12 is far from the best out there but for me it's by far the best I've had. Now I'm looking forward to exploring and trying more different whiskeys. Nice Strat also. Cheers.
Thanks! Highland Park makes some great Scotch, but there are so many choices out there. I’m sure you’ll find your favorite flavor profile. An affordable option is Glenfarclas and Glenmorangie makes some of my favorites: ruclips.net/p/PLT0oYlZCayccyb_HVyXh9PcXqLatL8w_C
Awesome review and I liked the guitar solo. Matches the whiskey theme niceley. In Europe we get the 40% abv and 700ml, so in the US you get 3% and 50ml more. Haha...
Thank you! Every time I’m at a distillery in the UK or Ireland, I feel like I’m getting cheated out of that 50ml. But its worth it for the distillery edition releases. Cheers!
I would recommend you to try HP Twisted Tattoo. Best one I've tried from them.
Thanks for the suggestion!
This is my go to. I haven’t tried 18
I prefer the Highland Park 18, but it's been too long since I've tasted them side by side. Cheers!
@@WhiskyRiffs cheers sir! I’m watching your videos and do enjoy them. I don’t know if you’ve done one on Buffalo trace. I’ve heard a lot about it. If you’ve had it, is it a good supper? Thank you
@@Jordonarkyn I agree completely! I'd go through so many bottles of Buffalo Trace as my daily drinker back in the day when it was around $20 USD. It's a bit harder to find now, but still a great Bourbon. I have an older episode about it: ruclips.net/video/uM1G0NV5YD4/видео.html. Cheers!
I will watch it! I greatly appreciate your response! Got a new subscriber sir!
Thanks so much for the review!
My pleasure!
Like Gordon, Highland Park 12 used to be my go-to whiskey as well. I still have a Highland Park 18 somewhere, still have to try it. Bought it in the distillery store when we visited Orkney last summer. Nice video!
“somewhere”?!? Like you don’t know? Dude! 😉
I love the level of peat in the HP12. The Islay’s are a bit strong for me. Tried the Talisker, Lagavulin and the laphroig but prefer something milder. Any suggestions?
The Bunnahabhain Distillery mostly bottles unpeated expressions, so you may like one of their peated ones: Bunnahabhain Toiteach A Dhà Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky ruclips.net/video/gRQNI3B5JWA/видео.html.
@@WhiskyRiffs thanks. I will check that out. Slowly dipping my toes into the peat/smoke 😀
Cool! Love the channel, brotha
Thanks, cheers!
Cool info in this one. Nice!
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it. ☺️
Great review I get peat straight away if I let it rest, love it it’s an all rounder
Thank you. Highland Park is a consistently good Scotch. I wouldn’t mind if they’d experiment a little more with other expressions. They have a ton of talent in that distillery.
