I cant wait to get my Hardbody back on the road. My head gasket blew on a rebuilt motor. I only had 20k miles on the rebuild. Waiting for a engine company to build one. Keep pumping out the D21 vids!

I highly highly recommend the beltech street pro lowering shocks these trucks if your more then three inches I use on one of mine for spirited driving and they completely changed my handling for the better so much more responsive and so so much stiffer cornering! also work amazing for slammed stock suspension

I took the seats out of my 01 Acura cl before scrapping it and put them in my hardbody, 88 classic with power, heated seats, very comfortable, I love em.
Just tore apart my ka24e-t today, new oil pump, water pump, timing chain, timing chain guides, and both sprockets. Feeling good
Edit: drop spindles, upper and lower ball joints, and tie rod ends about 3 weeks ago too

@@LocalLosers520 Hitting you guys up for some advice. I got everything back together today after I did the timing chain kit and it started right up. Good oil pressure, revs fine, but I got a nasty tick or knock going on.
When I put everything back together I was at TDC, the cam and the crank keys were at 12 o'clock, the links on the chain lined up with the marks on the sprocket. I also got the distributor back in with it firing on cylinder one, at the 4 o'clock position. So from everything I read it was re assembled perfectly.
If you guys have a quick minute and have any ideas let me know.

Nice truck fellas I miss mine I had back in Hawaii the thing never let me down. Had a few times it broke but was my fault like rear end snapping while trying to burn out and turn at an intersection. But I would love to get another and put an sr20 in it.
When I had my d21 I lowered it on 5" lowering bocks n for the front I took off the torsion bars it had the 2.4 liter engine high output 8 plugs 4cyl

I will say- if you're looking to install the 240 manifold on a somewhat factory d21, don't. I'm a little biased, I just finished installing it on my own. I have a 96.5 (OBD2), Extended Cab, Automatic. It is definitely NOT for the faint of heart and being on a stock ECU further complicates the wiring tremendously. Yes, you can feel a difference on the top end- BUT you sacrifice low rpm drivability. ESPECIALLY on a cam.
In my situation, Im fully deleted running 4x4 headers, 240 intake, Apexi Neo Safc, and have a Nismo R4 camshaft.
Needless to say- It does look VERY cool, but driving under 3k rpms for me is a PAIN.

I have a question. So I have a 87 d21 with the z24i engine and I'm wanting to turbo it and make 350 whp for now but my problem is I'm not sure how to manage the z24i intake to make it work for piping or what adapter pice to look for.

Do you guys think a 2850 turbo would be better for a setup like the simple turbo or would i need to add fuel injectors or pump?

Could I use this turbo set up in my 1992 stock (but rebuilt) ka24e 4x4 d21? Would 8lb boost be reliable? What mid range turbo would you recommend?
On the basic turbo did you have to drill into the oil pan?
I just have 3" blocks and torsion bars all the way to the bumps with a welded and a stock KA on my d21 drift truck
Have you done anything to get more angle to either truck?

Hey, would you guys recommend running BellTech blocks, shocks, and rear sway bay for a decent rear set up? Ideally I'd also like to be running the BeeBani front suspension

Yoo looking at ingnition setups (specifically the cop conversion) for the sohc was wondering how you managed to do yours whats you used etc.
They are ls3 coils if I remember right. Im on a stand alone ecu.

dam im doing a full suspension rebuild on my ls2 d21 and doing front rear sway bars belletech drop leafs, 26mm thicker torsion bars, street performance shocks and full poly bushings wondering how its gonna feel with the stiffer torsion bars and sway bars. trucks also on 2 inch drop spindles
Don’t your truck have a lq4 if it’s a truck motor it’s not a ls2 sorry to brake it to you for it to be a ls1 ls2 ls3 it has to be a aluminum engine btw
@@fatboybuilt yea its in iron block but it has the higher compression ls2 bottom end and top end. regardless it hauls ass
@@Palo_lsx so all it is a lq9 there not the same u can’t call it a ls2 u want a ls3 come peep peps old coupe s13 with the ls3 and tr6060 swap it has or my vq35de s13 hatch but if I was you instead of torsion I would hit up memos suspension in gilroy and have him make u a custom coil over kit for your truck and get a angle made by using a s13 or s14 rack and pinion save your self the head eac of using torsions bro no li
@@fatboybuilt i have a s13 rear subframe waiting for it but ima keep trying to slide the stock suspension as long as i can. like the simplicity and the good ride plus it slides real good already and with fresh suspension ittl be more composed. thanksfor the advice Mr Ls professional
can U use it for a daily driver, running on 5 pounds? simple turbo vision?
What if you used bigger tubing from turbo to manifold, would it make any difference in the spool?
what would be the best "everyday" simple turbo for stock engine?

Yes, absolutely, but the simple turbo is exactly that, simple! It won't be the most reliable. I definitely recommend running an aftermarket or tuned ecu. Bigger intercooler piping is not going to make much of a difference thats all dependent on turbo size quality of turbo manifold and a few other things.
We really like the t25/t28 for a daily.

Is there too much differencd on the lenght of the trucks? Is wheelbase lenght important in drifting?

Yes, they are tig welded.
I assume on the red truck it runs slightly Lean? For the extra air and not more fuel?

I just bought a turbo off of a friend it was never used but it's old it's a Garrett t6 with a 55 mm inlet and a 71 mm exhaust side I want to put it on my d21 I'm going to refresh my motor first or I'm going to possibly go k24 Honda motor what would you guys suggest

turbo size is something I don't have a lot of knowledge about. I would call garrett and see what they have to say

Just a turbo. There is a video series about it on the channel.

Did you guys ever get the simple turbo on the dyno successfully? I just watched hours of these vids hoping to hear what it made in that config.
Also, I forget, what turbo was that on there? Was it a proper t25 or t28?
Sadly we did not. It has a true t25. A t28 would be nice the t25 is small.
This is coming from someone who started modifying and sliding hardbodys at age 19 and now I’m 27 once you step away you almost never go back I had about 7 of them and I won’t go back anymore lol. Still have one friend that drifts his but yea once you step away you more than likely won’t go back
I had a 240sx tried it drift with it. didn't like it so spent money on the d21.

I just bought one and it was sitting for 6 year. S what's the first thing I should do to start it up.
Start it! They are pretty hard to kill i would do all the normal stuff and go from there. After you get it started change the oil do a tune up and she should be ready to go!

@@LocalLosers520 I have an 8" @100 watts where the passengers feet go, upside is no one asks me for rides anymore 😆 and yeah, the rattling is pretty bad, even with a low powered sub
I have twin 10"s a 12" and two different pairs of 6.5". Total watts is around 6000w just going by what they tell you on the box.

Why do Yanks call the d21 Hardbodies ?
Not sure. Its just the name that has been given to them. Was told it was because the bed has 2 layers, making it stronger than a normal bed. But that's not true.
