Great vid. Car is looking fantastic now. Watching you doing the wheel nuts set off my ocd. You should always go opposite nut to opposite nut to make sure the wheel is seated evenly
Not really a fan of spacers, but looks good, also since I not really commented before, I watched and used quite a few of your vids this past year since got a fn2 and I like the detail you go into with stuff, especially since I not mechanically minded 🙂
They look great. What brand are they and where would i get a set? One guy on youtube put spacers on and said the front end doesn't feel as precise with them . Whats your opinion?
Have a look in the description bud 😉 well since I got an alignment straight away I can't really say but it definitely feels unreal now even with spacers.
You know if you mess up the scrub radius by using the wrong offset wheel or spacer, they front will tend to tram-line over imperfections in the road. The scrub radius is how far off the center of the steering axis the center of the tire is. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrub_radius#:~:text=The%20scrub%20radius%20is%20the,ball%20joints%20of%20the%20hub. So just throwing spacers on or using the wrong offset wheel can make it feel worse. It's something you should calculate first.
@@quademasters249 this is why I installed them before having the camber and toe set correctly so that they could correctly align the car after the spacers were installed rather than installing them afterwards and the geometry being incorrect.
@@FNLEW Scrub radius problems can't be fixed with an alignment. Imagine the lower ball join pivot point and imagine the center of the contact patch of the tire to the road. The distance between the two is fixed by the wheel offset and adding a big spacer is just like increasing the offset of the wheel. If the wheel was a 45 offset before and you added a 17mm spacer, it's now effectively a 62 offset (45 + 17). I'm not saying you did anything wrong but if it was my car, I'd calculate the scrub radius before and after. www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=205-55-15X6.5ET55&wheel2=225-50-15X7ET40&fcl=50mm&wcl=30mm&scl=50mm&sr=0mm
@@quademasters249 fair enough, it's knowledge I didn't really have before hand but my plan is to eventually get wheels with this kind of offset so this is the closest thing I can do to that without the newer wheels. Although they'd probably be wider aswell which would change things again but I'll cross that bridge I suppose.
Looks very nice! I got 15mm Eibach spacers all around and it was a good investment. But the turn radius is worse.. it wasn't good before but turning the car around where there isn't much space or parking is a lot of work. But I'm used to it now. It looks soo much better! Would do it again anytime :D
A worse turning radius doesn't necessarily mean worse stability and handling whilst driving. Just means it's less manoeuvrable in a small space that's all.
Hi everyone. I've got 09 plate Civic 2.2 SE I CTDI and I get a little bit of water in my passenger footwell, where is the drainage hole in the front corner of the car under the windscreen wiper area?
Love it pal 👌🏼 I loved putting the spacers on my rears. Makes the rear look sooo wide and beefy 😍 I'm not rocking standard wheels though so when I out 17mm on the front they poked out waaay to far 😂🙈 can't wait to see how the car is after its setup 😁
It's hard to say as I had a fast road alignment done not long after but if anything it's probably a bit more planted and didn't effect it in a negative way.
Looks great. I had a FN2 with Nissan 350z forged alloys. The 350z alloys filled the Arches out perfectly with no spacers.
Thank you. Yes I've seen that before. They do look great.

Thank you. Don't worry it looks reckless when I put quick snippets together but I promise I'm thorough 👍🏻
You should get some white mudguards. Looks ace I might get some spacers, just ordered an OMP strut brace for my fn3.
I did on my old car and they got dirty real quick 😂 thanks mate. Oh brilliant enjoy it! 👍🏻
Think I need to get some of these now, looks great lad
Sick video. Defo mate a POV/Driving video of the car, mix of backroads and city/town driving too would be good too
Thank you mate 😊 very good idea bud I'll keep that in mind.

Neither was I at first mate but they've grown on me. That's great to hear mate. I'm learning too do great to see you're appreciating the details 👍🏻
when I saw the title I shouted "no, not forced induction". thankfully just spacers haha
Haha the peer pressure is real 😂 I'm in no rush though 😉
"I love when the suns up early, and it's there all night"
Well, ermmm 🤔
Yeah that makes no sense 😂
Well to be fair the sun is there all night, all day everyday we just rotate away from it. 🤣

Glad there hub centric ones fella lol.
So am I 😂
Think they make such a big visual difference. Love mine!
Yeah I definitely agree!
Looks decent pal. I miss my civic so much
Thank you mate. Most people do apparently haha
You've converted me mate. I'm now looking at spacers for mine. Look so much better!
Haha honestly mate I can't complain.
So much better 👌 like how you were so against them then reeled a load of positives to having them 🤣 Car looks so clean 😎
Haha they won me over in the end 🤣 cheers mate. Your fault 😉😂
How do your wheel spacers sit with your coilovers ? Do they rub at all as I'm thinking of doing the same. Thanks
They don't rub at all as you set the ride height to whatever you want with coilovers. Mine isn't much lower than standard.
@@FNLEW AHH ok that's good to hear, thanks for your help.
@@jackhunter4502 no problem 😊

Actually it has to improve stability and handling not backwards it means you have problem with the wheel alignment's

What spray paint did you use on your alloys or were they already white
They were painted by a company called RS Wheels
Looks awsome mate! Really surprised how 17mm made that stance just that bit more aggressive looking👍. Food for thought for mine 🤔 lol.
Thank you mate! Yeah it's just right in my opinion 👌🏻
"OOooo... Who's this" Cracked me up so hard! hahha
Haha didn't recognize myself mate 🤣

Don't spacers damage the steering etc
Not to my knowledge. Plenty of race cars with spacers as well. Maybe with really aggressive ones that are huge but not like these ones.
Im not in the honda crew any more😢 got a 225 mk1 tt but still love the type r content
Traitor lol, their ace motors mate gotta say I'm getting cold feet from lack of Torque
No judgment here mate. Enjoy the car and thanks for support ☺️
Looks sick mate 😜👌🏻 I love mine, sets the car off and handle's better in the corners 😎👊🏻
Thanks mate! Yes I definitely agree ☺️
Pleased your happy with the spacers. Your right to fit them before getting the tracking set up. Once again great video, keep up the content.
Over the moon mate, thanks again! Appreciate that cheers 😁
Out of curiosity, is there any negative impact on things like bearings when running spacers?
In all honesty I haven't a clue. But I do know plenty of people that run them with no issues.

@@FNLEW really? Mate that's awesome 😍😍 U gonna do a driving video review?
@@Robstervtec definitely mate. Next video 😉

you said you didnt need spacers ........ Ha ha
Yeah needs must 😂

@@alexr129 thank you mate. No rush mate enjoy it ☺️
Nobody commented that he had the day wrong 😂
Very nice mate, she's all coming together now :D
Thanks matey, I think so 😁
Did it effect the handling steering turning circle at all?
It's hard to say as I had a fast road alignment done not long after but if anything it's probably a bit more planted and didn't effect it in a negative way.
