Thanks for doing all this research. I really like the insight into the mechanics of Starfield that you have provided with your videos. :)
I am so glad you ask the important questions. I wondered about this stat also. good job.
I have been wondering about this. Thank you for doing the research!
Thank you for all you do 👍
Thanks for this,
Very interesting and informative…I try to get the highest shield retention per mass…I never thought about how much the regen mattered and so it seems not so much. Great video and thanks for sharing ✌️
9:37 one thing with that... No, not saying that you shouldn't always run full power to your shields (you should always), but I do use the shield-per-pip (power) as a reference to which one would work better when total power available (from reactor, crew and skills) is limited. And use it as a "best bang for your buck" scenario. So if I see one that is 455 for 5 power, but another that is 430 for 4 power, I'd probably lean towards the 430 for 4 as it's a better use of power allocation.
Great informative video.
OH that's a mighty fine pixel you got there. *waggles over* :P
Nice job on the homework👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Yeah ! Bigger is better ! Thank for the confirmation ! 😉
great video ,, new your chanell ... 👍👍
I have found something differs with vanguard shields, they seem to start recharging quicker, hell on very hard the Marduk 1040-A Shield Generator seems to work best, not sure why, I was using the Assurance SG-1800 Shield Generator then the Vanguard Bulwark Shield Generator, now in back to the Marduk.
Better have level 4 booster skill if you’re even gonna attempt to recharge in combat.
Regen is Irrelevant
Why? Because taking Any Hit resets the delay to restart regeneration.
So in practice you never get regeneration Unless you are Away From Combat
-but if you're away, then it doesn't matter, you have all the time in the world.
whole thing lacks Depth
be nice if we had some kind of Shield/HP Gating mechanic (temp invul on break) plus a means to trigger regen. Maybe a skill perk that regens on Boost?
Yes shield regeneration may only be relevant if you boost away midfight far away that you don't get any more hits. If you don't do this the Assurance SG-1800 is always the best unless you only have a B class reactor or you need to save mass to stay under the total mass threshold for 100 mobility.
Does Omari Hassan give that base 10? Have you tried without him?
This is a great question. I did test with and without Omari, and found no effect. Omari does provide a boost to shield health, and an additional power point allocated to shields, but did not appear to impact regen rate.
@@ShipTechnician Thank you.
This is why I get annoyed that the game steals power pips from my Sheilds every time I travel...
I would rebalance ships so shields were small but recharge VERY fast--within a few seconds--this would incentivize fast, evasive, run and gun gameplay. 15 seconds and then another 5+ to recharge is too slow and stupid. The only way to even activate it during a battle is to fly very far away from the arena. Good luck hiding behind an asteroid or something to recharge your shield. Boring.
I would also increase hull health substantially, like 10x. High level space combat in Starfield has zero strategy. Just blow up the enemy before you are in range of their particle beams, or you are instantly dead. Yawn boring.
