Good lord Michael makes the phantom really sound so heart broken. I hate this part but love it. This is the part where I cry ever time.

The original so-called incel. It’s sad when someone does it to themself. But I feel he didn’t deserve it. Some people live and die and literally can’t find love, only possession or half friendship.

Michael has always been my favorite and one of the reasons that I think that is because he’s able to express so much emotion in his sad and quiet notes. Many other Phantom actors use loud and powerful notes which is still obviously impressive but Michael’s softer, more heartbroken notes feel me with such sadness. Like he’s literally being betrayed and heartbroken and all he can do is silently and softly cry over it

  • @goldiekae

i think Sarah Brightman brought Christine innocence and kindness, bc at the end Christine is young, Sarah's voice gave her that scared feeling from a girl who doesn't really know how she's gonna fix everything, so many Christines make quick changes in their voices to show an emotion more deep, but Sarah just gave scared and i think she transmited that feeling to the people, while the other showed it. Just saying, my opinion, i'm one of those fools who love Sierra tho, but i appreciate a lot the talent of the Christines.

Look, I've seen many people point out or say "This Christine did this way better! Oh The movie's singing sucked. Oh Ramin and Sierra we're way better." Let people have their own opinions instead of saying that they are wrong. I honestly liked the movie, now it was not the best movie but it helped get a younger audience introduced into this beautiful musical. Now as for those of you who say Sierra and Ramin were way better. You may have your own opinion but no need to say that every where you find anything to do related to the other casts. I frankly like the original cast because that is who Andrew Lloyd Webber, y'know the one who wrote the musical, thought of in the first place to play these characters. When Micheal Crawford first auditioned for this musical he wanted to play Raoul but Andrew took one look at him and knew he would be the perfect Phantom. Meanwhile he looked at his wife and knew she would be the perfect Christine. All of the actors are good, you can all have your own opinions but don't hate on other's opinions.

Yes, agreed. Why do people have to bring up Ramin and Sierra everywhere? They aren’t the best imo. Ramin uses more of the rock singing style, similar to Colm Wilkinson, who’s voice is great, but didn’t suit the role of the Phantom well imo. To me, Michael Crawford will always be the Phantom, and Sarah Brightman will always be Christine. I mean, ALW wrote the musical and the role of Christine specifically for Sarah’s voice. They’re the OG’s, the best.

@@LiliVakarian ...this Sarah person? I mean, Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote the musical and the role of Christine specifically for Sarah’s voice, who was his wife at the time. She deserves more respect. She is and will always be the OG Christine, the best imo.

    • @rubygracemoseley8144
      @rubygracemoseley8144 3 года назад +3

@@ericaeva4408 Sarah and Michael are my favorites. I agree I kinda feel like Sarah deserves more respect. I do like Sierra and Ramin but Ramin doesn't capture the ghostly voice like Michael. I personally don't think anyone sounds more Phantom like than Michael. Also Michael's quiet heart broken voice is so sad. And again while other actors sound sad, most of them aren't quiet and soft, they are loud and powerful. And Sierra's voice, while extremely powerful, doesn't have the naive, scared young girl sound to it like Sarah's does. I have respect for Sierra or anyone that can pull of Christine for that mattter, but Sarah will always be my favorite for all those reasons.

Why have you brought me here?
    CHRISTINE
    Can’t go back there!
    RAOUL
    We must return!
    CHRISTINE
    He'll kill you!
His eyes will find us there!
    RAOUL
    Christine, don't say that.
    CHRISTINE
    Those eyes that burn!
    RAOUL
    Don't even think it
    CHRISTINE
And if he has to kill a thousand men
    RAOUL
    Forget this waking nightmare...
    CHRISTINE
The Phantom of the Opera will kill...
    RAOUL
    This phantom is a fable
    Believe me
    CHRISTINE
    ...and kill again!
    RAOUL
There is no Phantom of the Opera
    BOTH
My God, who is this man...
    CHRISTINE
    ...who hunts to kill?
    RAOUL
    ...this mask of death?
    CHRISTINE
    I can't escape from him...
    RAOUL
Whose is this voice you hear...
    CHRISTINE
    ...I never will!
    RAOUL
    ...with every breath?
    BOTH
    And in this labyrinth,
    where night is blind
the Phantom of the Opera is here/there
    inside my/your mind...
    RAOUL
There is no Phantom of the Opera...
    CHRISTINE
    Raoul, I've been there
to his world of unending night
To a world with the daylight dissolves into darkness...
    darkness...
    Raoul, I've seen him!
Can I ever forget that sight?
Can I ever escape from that face?
So distorted, deformed, it was hardly a face
    in that darkness...
    darkness...
But his voice filled my spirit
    with a strange, sweet sound...
In that night there was music in my mind...
And through music my soul began to soar!
And I heard as I'd never heard before...
    RAOUL
What you heard was a dream and nothing more...
    CHRISTINE
    Yet in his eyes
all the sadness of the world
    Those pleading eyes,
    that both threaten and adore
    RAOUL
    Christine...
    Christine...
    PHANTOM
    Christine...
    CHRISTINE
    (whisper) What was that?
    RAOUL
    No more talk of darkness,
    Forget these wide-eyed fears
I'm here, nothing can harm you
my words will warm and calm you
    Let me be your freedom,
    let daylight dry your tears.
I'm here with you, beside you,
to guard you and to guide you...
    CHRISTINE
Say you love me every waking moment,
turn my head with talk of summertime...
Say you need me with you now and always...
Promise me that all you say is true
that's all I ask of you
    RAOUL
    Let me be your shelter
    let me be your light
You're safe, No one will find you
your fears are far behind you...
    CHRISTINE
    All I want is freedom,
a world with no more night
and you, always beside me, to hold me and to hide me...
    RAOUL
Then say you'll share with me
    one love, one lifetime
let me lead you from your solitude
Say you need me with you here, beside you...
anywhere you go, let me go too
Christine, that's all I ask of you...
    CHRISTINE
Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime...
say the word and I will follow you...
    (right) BOTH:
    Share each day with me,
    each night, each morning...
    (right) CHRISTINE
    Say you love me...

    You know I do...
    BOTH
Love me - that's all I ask of you
Anywhere you go let me go too
Love me - that's all I ask of you...
    PHANTOM:
    I gave you my music . . .
made your song take wing . . .
    and now, how you've
    repaid me:
    denied me
    and betrayed me . . .
He was bound to love you
when he heard you sing . . .
    Christine ...
    Christine ...
    CHRISTINE/RAOUL (Background):
    Say you'll share with me,
    one love, one lifetime...
Say the word and I will follow you...
    Share each day with me
    Each night, each morning

This is my favorite POTO song. It’s so beautiful. Other than Come What May from Moulin Rouge (another great French musical 😂😂❤️❤️) and My Heart Will Go On from Titanic it’s my favorite love song of all time.

Mithcoriel it’s when the chandelier drops

If you've watched any other production of The Phantom of the Opera, whether 1925, 1990, 1986, 2004 or any production year that I'm not knowing about, there's always a chandelier crash. His "gooo" was him causing it crash.

Rydia of Mist I think what they’re asking is why he yells “Go!!!” when he drops the chandelier instead of just dropping it and cutting right to the maniacal laughter. Who is he telling to “go”? The chandelier? The audience? The actual audience, because it’s intermission?

Lol, just imagine him yelling at the actual audience at intermission. 😂🤣😅😂🤣

Damn Christine why you so shallow :'(

    • @angelateca5513
      @angelateca5513 7 лет назад +59

Christine isn't shallow, she just scared of the Phantom. The dude is stalking her, has kind of been lying to her, scaring her (although this one might not have been intentional), and is killing people. By the end of the musical she even tells him that his face isn't the problem, it's because he is going around killing people and pretending to be her friend and ALSO pretending to be her dead father and pretty much traumatizing her. "This haunted face, holds no horror for me now. It's in your soul, where the true distortion lies." Everyone understands that the Phantom has had a pretty horrible life, but that still doesn't give him the right to mess with other people's lives.

And even in this song, while she does talks about how alarming and distorted his face is, she then brings up the lines about music and how they can share that AND that she has compassion towards him, if just a bit.

Also, Christine is quite a young girl (around 20 years), still innocent and ingenuine. She loves Raoul, but also knows the voice is an actual man that needs a friend or else he'll go mad of love and jealousy.
Man, this was better than a K-drama, I'm telling you. She pushed Raoul away purposefuly so Erik wouldn't hurt him.

This is my opinion, but I think the best Christine is Sierra Boggess.
