the part that goes “...but his voice filled my spirit with a strange sweet sound, in that night here was music in my mind. and through music my soul began to soar! and i heard as i’d never heard before...” is (to me) perhaps the most beautiful little piece of music in the whole musical. it’s so raw and magical.
It's definitely one of the strongest moments of the whole show.

How would I record to a separate track? I would like to do this (this is the "Meg A" who responded to your "Beneath a Moonless Sky" a couple years back if you remember) but I have no access to a purely instrumental track of this nor decent mixing software :/
Hi Margo! You can record it on your smartphone while listening in headphones to the song(Yes! This one) in your computer. That way, only your voice is recorded and I can include it in a new mix. Preferably, use the little headset that came with your phone and just let it hang from your ear without actually putting it in there (You already have the computer headphones there). Once you're done, send it to me: eksell(at)outlook.com
@@petereksell All right! Working on it now... I realized I do a lot of open release on my consonants and end up sounding more like Carlotta than Christine so I've gotta reel that in a bit but I'll get it to you eventually haha

From “Raoul I’ve been there”, the pitch is higher than the original.
Taking into account that "the original", in this case is the 25th Anniversary Blueray video, I don't think you are correct in that (unless you are talking about just a few cents off, of course). I have listened to both of them and they sound right without actually placing both tracks in my DAW to compare pitch.
the "strange sweet sound" is a lot higher than in the production
Actually, if you listen to the 25th Anniversary version (which is the one I based my version on), you will find it's only a semitone higher. From B major to C major
