I’ve watched every YT club reviewer do his/her thing. Your template for review is unmatched particularly when you delve into the numbers for intentional miss hits. So informative. Example: I was in contemplation between the purchase of Apex 21 Pro and this Ping I525. My misses are on the toe never the heel so that per your direction eliminated the Apex 21 Pro from consideration. Great job. You are the best in the business !
I’m not sure why or what’s stopped you but you are the very best at what you do. I’m from a fly over state of the USA, North Dakota, and you and TXG are the best in my mind. I pray everything is ok with you. God Bless
Hi there, the channel is most definitely still live, I've been flat out coaching and Custom Fitting since the UK lockdown finished 29th March 2021. Also I am working hard on a project that will change the AskGolfNut channel hugely for the later part of 2022 promising much more frequent even daily channel uploads. 👍
Yep, one could argue that for guys with quicker swing speeds irons like the i525 and Mizuno 225 aren't great options. I noticed you had 34 yards of carry distance difference between your 7i and 9i in the 225's. I don't mind 13-15 yards between clubs but 17 is really pushing it. With a slower swingspeed that difference will probably shrink a smidge.
I think swing speed is only part of it. I got fitted and purchased a set of these just a few weeks ago and these clubs really helped me lower the abnormally high spin I was generating. I swing it pretty fast (118 w/ driver, not sure with 7i) and I have always had a balloon ball flight with my irons when I strike them well. Although the gaps may be a bit larger, I think the benefit of these clubs for high swing speed golfers is the forgiveness and the low spin characteristics that can really help get a feel for the right ball flight.
18 handicap. Love my I525s. There really is a lot of forgiveness in these. For me these have been more forgiving than the 225s(I've owned both) love the feel and sound of the mizunos but these are better suited for me.
Another top review, thanks. How good do you think these irons would be for an average 'bogey' golfer who strikes quite well but not as fast a swing as would like?
I've just bought a set...but have to wait till mid June to get my hands on them. Mine are blue dot....noticed yours are too. I'm 6'1 , how tall are you? I also went for 1/2 inch longer , mid size grips. (NB.I was fitted, its not me speccing my own clubs!)
Another great review! I love this players distance iron category. A little concerned about the feel/sound of these clubs. Leaning towards Mizuno 225 at this point. Looking forward to the new Cobra Forged Tec too. Any idea when they will be out? Maybe a players distance iron comparison in the future? Keep up the good work!
I hit the 525 against the the i59 and several clubs from other manufacturers...for me and my swing, the 525 came out the winner...bought em to replace my current clubs, the Cleveland CG1...anxious for their arrival!
Great review, many thanks. The i525 are damn sexy looking Irons, that remind me of the PXG 0211's. But as someone who tends to live in the low heel, these probably aren't for me. PS Hypothetical question, how would you deal with fitting a golfer who uses Jumbomax XL grips because of arthritis in the hands? I haven't had a club fitting since I transitioned into oversized grips, I would love to test some of the new club releases but I would really could deal with using standard grips these days. Any suggestions????
great vid! love my i210s but need a hair more "help" but hate the 425s due to huge offset and soles, would these fit in between when it comes to overall forgiveness or similar to my i210? THX!
They are a touch more forgiving than the i210, but the largest difference would be in the distance department. The stronger lofts of the i525 would be the largest factor. Definitely go give them a test and compare them directly to your I210s 👍
Any way you could do the same testing for the Taylormade P770? I'm torn between both the Ping I525 or Taylormade P770. I've hit both and I'm leaning towards the Ping bc of the feel. Thanks Brother!!
Would it be fair to say the i210s are more of a players iron, and ordering them in the power spec would be a good middle ground between the 210s and the 525s? I’m a 10-12 hdcp, want to take the next step, but need some forgiveness. 85-86 mph 7 iron swing speed, currently gaming the old i20s, fwiw. Or is the Mizuno 225 a better answer?
Hi there, it's been an extremely busy 2022 for me. Coaching and Custom Fitting seemingly non stop and also single handedly creating something that will transform the AskGolfNut channel going forward. All I ask is that if everyone could bear with me for a short while longer as what I have to announce will bring potentially daily uploads forthcoming 👍
I am gaming Mizuno MP20-MB 6-PW. But I am looking for something that will fit in under my G410 26* 5 Hybrid (185-190) but concerned they may suffer like the HMB which I moved away from due to them being a little jumpy. Guess the additional grooves are there to get a little more spin consistency and avoid the low spin knuckle balls.
Hi Bob, they have gone up in price for sure. Even more important that whenever you are going to spend any large sum on any new equipment choice that you make sure you get properly custom fit to ensure what you buy it right 👍
Hi David, thanks for the kind feedback. I've been extremely busy Coaching and Custom Fitting since the return of UK lockdown, also I'm working on a really exciting project that will change the AskGolfNut channel hugely for the better in the later half of 2022 👍
Hi my question is not related to this video review, however would hqve loved to get custom fitted from you but was not practical due to the significant distance i would have to travel to your locale. I have today made a significant purchase of the Mizuno pro 225 5 to gw but would like some advise on the rest of the wedge or wedges. I am thinking a 58 degree in the t22 which leaves a gap in my back to the hmb gw at 49 degrees. My premise is i would be using the 58 degree for bunker shot and high soft landing shot can you advise on what grind and bounce i should consider. I currently hqve in the bag a K grind in a vokey at 58 degrees if that can aid in your reply
Hi Raj, honestly without seeing how you deliver the wedges into impact, a conversation about you style of wedge play and what changes / improvements you are thinking off going forward, any answer I give would be a guess and not based on anything other than that. I would have hoped though that your fitter would have given you some advice and information on your delivery and therefore have an understanding on what would suit best 👍
It would have been something that I would have spoken about during the fitting, also the club passed the 5 iron. It's all about functionality of flight for the chosen clubs, understanding why the choice is made and how the choice made ties in with any existing clubs and any potential changes in the future 👍 That's why my fittings go on for longer than they should I guess 😊
Looking at the lofts the problem is 8i-PW. Up to 7i in standard lofts they have a 3-3.5 degree loft difference between clubs, 7i-8i is 4.5 degrees, 8i-9i & 9i-PW is 5 degrees. I would take retro lofts 5i-7i (32.5 degrees so slightly stronger than my standard i210! how that counts as retro is beyond me), standard loft 8i (35 degrees), power loft 9i (38.5 degrees) , retro loft 9i (42 degrees) and then standard loft PW (45 degrees). That would be the equivalent of carrying 4i-PW
Hi Daniel, unsure until I test both on the same day flicking between the two randomly. What test would you like, one based on raw performance or with the miss hits included for both irons? Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
Hi Jon, it's the unfortunate truth that all and everything seems to be going up in cost at present. I guess that's why the second hand market is as big as its ever been. 🙁
Possibly because we get in a pattern of saying the same intro every time. Its natural when you say the same thing over and over to become very metronomic in the delivery. Hopefully after the first sentence we all sound a touch more human 😊

17 yards isn’t uncommon between a 7i and a 9i…..that’s a 2 club gap
……if it was 17 yards between 7i and 8i, I’d be concerned…
@johnhcross1 it was 34. Between 7 and 9 which should only be a problem if there are dispersion issues which these clubs don't seem to have.
Love the shot by shot analysis of impact and results

That sound...🤯
Need a 525/225 head to head ASAP.
Still leaning towards the Mizzys though

Great video Again. Just checking Are you planning on the new Stealth Iron review with the forgiveness. God Bless Thanks

The i525 are definitely more suited to a toe miss. I believe it is the TM P770s that are the ultimate for heel strikers
Great review thanks.
Yep. I use i500s, and the 5/6 iron aren't really used. One I've driven off the tee, most I use is usually a 7 iron and above.
great vid! love my i210s but need a hair more "help" but hate the 425s due to huge offset and soles, would these fit in between when it comes to overall forgiveness or similar to my i210? THX!

Nice looking clubs but the Forged badge is a bit of a joke. Would rather try out a Srixon ZX5 / ZX7 combo set

I210 irons only available to replace a lost or damaged one. Ping no longer sells the i210 as a new set.
Hi Jay, it's been 5 months since your last video upload. Been wondering where you have been. Hope this message finds you well.

I looked at new irons yesterday and wow, sticker price, 1300 to 1900 bucks for top name irons now, insane....
Hi Bob, they have gone up in price for sure. Even more important that whenever you are going to spend any large sum on any new equipment choice that you make sure you get properly custom fit to ensure what you buy it right 👍

Thank you for your reply. Just to emphasise only order 5 to gw in hmb but only enquired about wedges post purchase but no advise given just yet

Maybe a blend retro spec with the i59?
Exactly my thoughts 💭 👍
Sound and feel excluded, how would compare the Mizuno Pro 225 vs. the i525 on a performance basis?
Hi Daniel, unsure until I test both on the same day flicking between the two randomly. What test would you like, one based on raw performance or with the miss hits included for both irons?

@@AskGolfNut Thanks for the detailed reviews, I’d love to see the mishits included for both irons.
@@AskGolfNut ping i525 is it more forgiving than apex and ping 425 models?
I'd say being honest that it goes G425, Apex DCB and then i525. Which Apex model were you thinking of?
@@AskGolfNut I have the callaway b21 irons...which are jumbo size...u think those are even more forgiving than g425?
Overrated and way over priced. I'll stick with my Srixons.
