For me it helped to have a persona, like "I'm a decent person and my younger brother looks up to me. A decent person who wants his brother to have a role model wouldn't do this and that, including porn, would go to the gym a few times a week, wouldn't get angry easily, etc etc.". Also, reducing the time I checked the phone definitely helped. I started by tracking the usage everyday, and was shocked by the number of hours, then disabled all notifications except calls. Do you know what its like to be expected to be the one to make the first move and then when you use all your willpower to work up the courage to ask someone out you find out they already have a boyfriend, or a girlfriend. Even if they were single, rejection is the default response you are likely to get because women are after high status males and are picky. Imagine you ask out 10 women, chances are 8/10 will reject you or be in a relationship and the 2 that do go on a date with you, will just not like your personality (Certain personality types don't vibe together), it wont be an unpleasant experience but it wont lead anywhere. When this is your experience of dating and trying to date its no wonder so many men resort to easy sexual thrills of porn that can reduce the painful emotions of life in the short term (Though long term it causes more suffering).

I’m a 26 year old woman who watches porn often and I’ve struggled to see how it affects me negatively but now I’m starting to… I definitely do focus way too much on sexuality and not intimacy/connection. My ex didn’t have a high sex drive and said how he values just being with me and snuggling me way more than having sex and that hurt/offended me because I felt like he was saying he doesn’t like having sex with me.
