Have you made them in 1/8oz size? I'm having an issue where the wire form doesn't quite reach into the lead, leaving a little gap. I was wondering if you had any pointers to fix that. I made a few other sizes and they all turned out great, only the 1/8 size is giving me an issue.
That Guy Skimpy I realize that it sits on the bottom, what I’m curious which way the bend in the wire us supposedly is sitting. I wish YT would allow pics to show you what im talking about 😕
That Guy Skimpy , thanks for the quick reply. I'm new to pouring and love it. Thanks for the videos. It helped considerably. Have you ever tried the sickle style or wide gap for 604 gami? Thanks
@@ThatGuySkimpy yeah I am going to order it. Can you tell me what melting pot to get and spoon for pouring? Been reading up on it but I like your set up with dipping it out
Nice bro! You just keep getting more and more good molds! I love swinging football heads! Gives the baits better action and comes through rocks better! 3/4 is my favorite size!
Hey Skimpy, I understand the smoking of the mold. How often do you have to smoke the mold? For example, if you were going to make 20 x 3/8 Oz jigs, do you just smoke the mold once or every 5 jigs or other? Thanks Man
Dan Thompson i smoke the mold again when i start seeing issues with the lead releasing or if getting incomplete pours. Thanks for watching. Super appreciate the support.
I put wax in the melting pot with the lead I never smoke the mold and it works great just my molds still look brand new just my 2 cents . But love the channel
Thanks man. I dont mind the way they look with the black soot stuff on it. I've tried with and without smoking the molds. I feel I get more consistent quality pours when I smoke the molds. But if the way you do it works for you that's awesome !!!!!
Awesome video and tips on how to make these. We just subscribe to your channel and we found your channel name by a like on our picture on our instagram.
You got a pouring pot but use a ladle? And the other thing I do agree with you 100% that safety is first, however you're in a shed with heated lead. Not very smart. Wear a respirator.........

Do you have any issues with the is 1/2oz to 1 1/4 oz ? Any issues with the inserts not staying while pouring?
Not that I remember.
I just got the football swing mold, and I’m curious about the wire. Does it matter which way the wire sits?
I'm not 100% but I put the side with the little bend on the bottom

Jackson Johnson thanks for watching. Appreciate the support brotha !!!!!!
Man I’ve learned a ton from you and hit the subscribe button. May I ask where you get your lead from?
Thanks for the support. I actually got very lucky and a buddy was removing an Xray room and hooked me up with a bunch of lead
Skimpy, does pre-heating the oven make a difference in the outcome?
Well how i do it is I put the jigs in and then start the oven. Instead of 20 minutes I bake for 30 minutes.
these are my favorite kind of jigs to use...easy to keep the fish pinned all the way to the boat! and great action from them too
Yeah man i love them !
Do you ever change recommended hook size? I have the herring under spin and would like a wide gap. Any recommendations?
gpharned yes all the time !!!!! For the most part you can go up or down a size, but it's trial and error

Hey Skimpy,
Have you tried cutting the wire form to change hook sizes? I see you cut it on the Poison swing to add a blade. Great videos! Thank you!
I havent tried that. I see what you mean though. If you cut the wire then you could change out hooks ?
Great video and very informative, I have mold ENVY! Quite a few there on the wall!
Thanks brother just got the bigger mold with the 1 1/4 oz. I was having trouble how the inserts went in. Thanks for the info

That Guy Skimpy I have the poison tail but instead of EWG hook I use the regular hook. it work better for me to swim it. Thanks skimpy

Dont u need a mask for rhe fumes?
It is always a good idea. Also in a well ventilated area and have a fan on and door open. The cleaner the lead the better.
@@ThatGuySkimpy if u ever start ranfomly drooling for no reason u know whats up. Lol
Lol. Yeah I usually wear a respirator. Especially for pouring plastics.
