Just made three new ones tonight. My favorite is a black and red skirt and black head with red eyes and i threw a small gold colorado plus a big willow blade on top. The one i made that would most likely catch me fish this year is my chartreuse/white with a big silver colorado and a small yellow colorado that is also put on bearing swivel. If i did it right and i will find out tomorrow, they should both spin nicely and not interfere with eachother. Its all about shad patterns when youve got the visibility in my area. For ponds and small lakes im gonna see if i can get a bluegill type pattern made tomorrow. Cool vid.
I'm looking for a really good spinnerbait mold. I have some old school Do-it molds. I've looked at modifying my jig mold like you did. ORRRR.... I am looking into the ultra head spinnerbait or a bug molds mold. I'm looking for one with eyes, good weight balance and a larger skirt collar. Do you have any advise or suggestions for me.

I always hand painted mine because I thought you had to dip the powder coat. Thanks buddy for showing how to sprinkle it on. Awesome video once again. 👍
Another great video. You should get a Little Blue Bender and use straight shafts. Then you can make variations in the wire and even use this mold for buzzbaits. Hope to see some new stuff soon!
Sconnie Fishermen lol thanks. Somebody actually just mentioned the same thing. I have the Trokar pro swim mold I will do a video on. But I use the poison Tail jig the most for swim jigs. I have a few videos with the poison Tail.
As an FYI - I went on Do-It to look for the mold. Couldn't find it initially. Eventually found it by putting the name (won't come up with the model number) in the search box. Nice video, one of the best I've seen. I think it is a Saltwater mold.
wish I could afford to grab some molds, and start making my own. On average how much does it cost to make your own? when I was a kid my grandfather had all the molds and stuff to make crappie jigs and roadrunners so I've done those.
Great video man. Love the poison tail video you did also. I just got the mold in the mail today and plan on trying to make a few.... what size eye's do you use for these and the poison tail jigs?? I need to order some, but not sure which size. Keep up the great work!
Db Slabs thanks !!! I have the Trokar Pro Swim mold. I can make a video using that mold. But I really do like using the Poison Tail jig for swim jigs !!!! I have videos making these jigs !!!!
If you don't have a powder paint fluid bed or an air brush you can look in stores that carry kitchen products and buy a few cheap hand sifters. They are nothing more than a ring on a handle with a fine mesh cup attached to the ring. Put the powder paint in the sifter and lightly tap it to put a light coat on your bait.
Another way of painting them a little better with powder paint is to go to wal-mart, in the arts and crafts section they have a pack of paintbrushes, 100 for like $1 or something like that. I know they are $1 but not sure on the quantity... anyway... you can take a clean one and dip it in the powder paint and then dab it on your baits. Obviously only one brush per color and eventually the heat melts away the bristles. Goes on a bit rough but smooths out fairly well in the oven during the baking process. Looks great, but I still don't see a "12" anywhere on it...?
no problem man love the channel. I just tried making chatterbaits out of the poison tail mold like you did... they are great. I am getting a much better hook up ratio with those compared to the real bait. That hook makes a huge difference. Wish I could post some pics on here, they were absolutely choking those things. I was using a solid white one with a paddle tail keitech trailer with the paddle dipped in chartreuse JJ's Magic. I caught 5 keepers within 15 casts. Anyway keep it up man, you are doing the Lord's work on here.
LeadMunitions that's a hard one. It all depends on the materials you use. Some bearing swivels are expensive. And there's all different kinds of blades and beads and spacers and hooks that all have different price range. That's why you can buy a Walmart spinnerbait for $1 but might not last too long cuz cheaper components. Like mentioned it's hard to say how much a single spinnerbait would be without knowing which components you were going to use. Hope that makes sense. If I had to just had to make a guess on a price with the components I use I'd say $1-$3. I know not the greatest answer lol
Makes perfect sense...was thinking about getting into the hobby and weather or not it was worth the investment for the equipment. Looks like a lot of fun and gives you the option to create whatever you want!! Thanks for the quick reply... GREAT VIDEOS!!
LeadMunitions it does cost a little up front but it is a great fun hobby for sure. As far as saving money, it all depends on how much you spend on tackle in the first place. If you only buy a couple jigs or spinnerbaits a year it's hard to justify all the money you'd spend on the materials. Also if you plan on selling. It's a fun hobby and worth the money to me. I don't sell what I make. I already have a job lol. I do this to relax
Sorry you dont like the music. Not sure about taking away from the professionalism???? But hey to each his own. That's for watching. Most of my channel has similar music, sorry in advance
What search key do I use to find the spacers? I couldn't find them and I feel like I tried everything

I can’t find any info on the size eyes that fit for these jigs. What size do you use? 3mm-14mm are the available sizes.

Great vid.....will super glue for eyes work as well as epoxy?

Albert Harris each mold about $40+ the melter around $70+. You need hooks and paint and weedguards or wire forms. Check out do-itmolds.com

What's the purpose of smoking the mold?
It helps release the lead as well as helps the lead fill the cavities
Great video man. Love the poison tail video you did also. I just got the mold in the mail today and plan on trying to make a few.... what size eye's do you use for these and the poison tail jigs?? I need to order some, but not sure which size. Keep up the great work!

Tip for the eyes.....use another hook tip to peel the eyes off and place on the head. I keep a Bucktail beside me just for that purpose.
john boy awesome thanks !!!!!

Shawn Darling as in how long it lasts on the spinnerbait ? It last a long time.
That Guy Skimpy Thanks again keep the videos coming great job.
i miss your videos brotha,..when are you coming back on line???
Thanks brother. Man I've been crazy busy lately but hope to make it back here soon

so how does it cost you to make a single spinnerbait?
