Glad to see your back man, I started doing my own a while back after watching your vids, and dude all I can say is thank you, my business has blown up, I'm doing a variety of jigs, chatterbaits of different styles, swim jigs of different types, and even got into airbrushing hard baits, and it all started from watching your videos, thanks so much skimpy, and glad your making videos again.
put a steel pin in a vise....grab a grinder and grind it down to the length and angle you need. Worked for me anyhow. Was a pain, stop to check, grind, repeat, but works good.
Thanks skimpy, my son and i were just talking about making chatters, told him i wasn't sure which do it mold to use, you must have heard us all the way from cali LoL thanks again.
I make them the same way except I get my jigs etc from Janns Netcraft. Wondering how you put the bend in the blade?? Enjoy your video's except the one where they tore apart your boat. Pretty sad.
I noticed the flat eye arkie mold has a different shape than the standard straight eye trokar version, the flat eye version is more like the sparkie mold.
It has a little bit different action than putting straight on.Not a worse action or anything, just different. Hard to explain but maybe more of a "wobble"
I like both. Hars to say really. About the same vibration I think. Hard to explain but I think having a split ring is a wider action and without is tighter action. If that makes sense lol
This seems like a dumb question but is there any downside or negative to using the pro swim jig mold to make these instead of having to buy two separate molds? Thanks for any response. I've been making them with the poison tail but the hook punching sucks, in my opinion. They look nice but that process is a pain considering hooks breaking.
I like the pro swim !!!! Yeah hooks can break trying to open. Something you can try is to heat up the hooks first. Not all hooks work as good as others

I bought them like that. Cant remember where? Maybe Ebay?
Do you bend your own blades because the ones I ordered came flat?
They came bent. Got them off ebay

Any change in the action with connection with split ring?
It has a little bit different action than putting straight on.Not a worse action or anything, just different. Hard to explain but maybe more of a "wobble"
As far as the action do you like the blade directly to the eye or to the O-ring? Which one has more vibration?
I like both. Hars to say really. About the same vibration I think. Hard to explain but I think having a split ring is a wider action and without is tighter action. If that makes sense lol
@@ThatGuySkimpy What size split ring are you using?

@@ThatGuySkimpy I really appreciate the info, I'm trying to order everything I possibly can!!!

@@ThatGuySkimpy Thanks. I'm going to get the pro swim at some point then. Either way, I add the ability to make my own swim jigs to the arsenal.
@@justinwood683 yeah it is a great one to have in your arsenal
Do u use a tool to get the rubber skirts & band together?
yes. store.do-itmolds.com/Simple-Skirt-Tool_p_849.html
How do you bend your blades? Or can you buy them bent?
Bought them that way !
@@ThatGuySkimpy where did you get them like that?
@@strohmster I belive it was from barlows tackle
How much do you typically sell them for?... I'm thinking about getting a simple setup. I've watched your videos a ton.
I dont sell the baits I make. I just make them for personal use !
Nice video bro. Hope you are well. What's happening with your boat man? Have the cops manage to recover anything??
No, nothing. But I have rebuilt
What kind of gloves do you wear when you work with lead? Like latex or something different??
Thanks
Hot lead I use welding gloves but just handling it I use rubber gloves like doctor gloves
Dope vid bro. Do you prefer the split ring baits over the swim jig mold chatterbaits?
I use both actually
where do you get your blades from????
Barlows tackle
hey man do you sell these
I just make them for personal use and to show others how to make them.
Just curious do you make the jigs for your own personal use or do you sell some??
Just for personal
Do you live in Washington? I live in Tacoma WA. You inspired me to start making my own jigs and baits.
I'm in Lakewood
