    Thank you very mich for this video. I just got my k3 sliding table saw and I am planning my first project with it. It is not easy to figure out these things when you do them for the first time. The video helped me tremendously. I wish you the best. Cheers from Berlin

    Thanks to you, I dusted my old sliding saw off and started using it again. By the way, I just made up a jig for it to hold small stools to cut all four feet, one at a time, to the same length. Now my stools don't rock back and forth. Basically, the jig supports the stool on edge, and it is 90 degrees to the table. Works like a charm.

      Thank you Robert. The sliding tablesaw is very useful especially with jigs. Glad it is working well for you. Steve

    Like your videos, I recently purchased sliding table saw and after watching your video i made fritz and franz jig , i love it , amazing how safe you can cut on sliding saws compare to cabinet saws , more enjoyable than nerve racking:) btw im from Europe so i used to learn on sliders at school but ben living here almost 20 years and only had cabinet saw so it took me few days to figure out ways on slider and get comfortable on it again, and your videos gives me more ideas on how to improve and find easier ways to cut in my slider 👍

      Thank you. It took me years to figure out how to use the slider living in a country where the standard fare is the cabinet saw.

    Nice idea using the dowel center! It makes the taper cut on the slider super fast and accurate..
    I will definitely use it when I do the leg taper cut next time.

    Looks like useful and easy to make jig!
    What do you think of using the cutof as an support for the later cuts where there is a gap between the material and the jig. That might reduce vibrations while the cut reaches the end?

      That is a good observation and I thought about doing that but decided against it to avoid a loose piece hanging around that could kickback with blade contact. If I had clamped it down, that concern would go away. Steve

    Hi Steve, great videos! Just curious, are you set up in a shop at your residence? If so, are you in a 2 or 3 bay garage? I have a 3 bay garage I’m converting to a dedicated shop space. It’s 35x 28. Plenty of room for a future sliding table saw I hope. Thx

    What’s the height of your slider I just got mine And I find it low it’s 2 inches lower than my delta unisaw

    Very useful! Do you have any tips of a box joint jig for the slider?

    • @extremewoodworker
      @extremewoodworker  7 лет назад

      Thank you Sebastian. I do box joints on the Leigh jig with the fingerjoint template. I haven't made box joints on the slider but I would suggest something similar to jigs used on a standard cabinet saw but just clamp it to the crosscut fence. It has been well over 20 years since I did this on a tablesaw so cannot offer any advice that would be meaningful in that regard. Steve
