    Sam, thanks so much for showing some of your practical applications of my 1-Fence system specific to sliders. With my own semi-retirement shop space a little too cramped for a big slider nowadays, I'm jealous! Demand from lecagy 1-Fence system customers and referrals from industry friends like you have kept me motivated to maintain a good stock of extrusions and stops, as well as some of the other components in limited supply. Even though my carpentry and woodworking businesses keep me as busy as ever, seeing the ingenious ways other craftsmen use my system remains a kick for me. Thank you for this video! (Agreed: hard for us wood lovers to let go of those beautiful cut-offs, even long after they've nearly taken over the shop...)

    you're a genius - you've just opened up months of jig making/tweaking for my fall/winter season !! I've got an old Jointech Clincher 26" on my second router table (first one has the new Incra incremental positioner system on it - I think I'll get another Incra positioner for second router table and convert the Clincher to the positioner on my CU300 Smart - and gotta figure out the Incra Miter gauge adaptation for my MiniMax miter gauge rig which I never use in miter mode

    • @SamBlasco
      @SamBlasco  5 лет назад

      I used the base plate of the Minimax miter gauge to mount the Incra 3000 to. I just transferred the hole pattern to that metal base from the miter slot bar that came with the Incra gauge, drilled and tapped it and viola!

    Hi Sam, I use the Fritz and Franz jig to cut small pieces on the sliding tablet saw. It is very practical and quick to install

    • @SamBlasco
      @SamBlasco  3 года назад

      That is a good jig system, too, and is used more for individual small parts in more of a crosscut orientation. I use my own version of it that is not near as elaborate, but uses the same clamping principle.

    Terrific video... makes me want a huge slider!!
    I've got a 4' long sliding table attachment for my cabinet saw, but having used a true slider I'm hoping I can make an accessory table that can slide alongside the blade... saw a few things in here that might be able to help me with that!

So do these have a lot of set up “out of the box”. If you don’t mind me asking, what did this model cost? Who do you talk to about getting info on these things? Thank you.

      It was made by Jointech, now out of business, but the same basic technology as Incra, and you should be able to do something similar with one of their positioners. You can get that same little support table for your slider by calling into the parts department at SCM NA.

    hey Sam I really am enjoying your videos. I am looking at purchasing a preowned minimax si315es. It has a lot of great features but it doesn't have two things I would love- a power switch on the sliding wagon end, as well as a motorized rip fence. Can I add those to the saw? And how much is this type of accessory? And the saw didn't come with a dado insert but its dado ready. Can I buy a dado insert as well. This saw is a 2019. The SCM website isn't the easiest to navigate. As I tried looking this stuff up. Thank you again.

    Hey Sam - the aluminum extrusion 9as well as the flip stops) you are using as your crosscut fence and on the end of the jointech positioner do not appear to be the standard MiniMax ones - where did you get those ? I gather you like these better that standard MiniMax, since you also use on your drill press ? Many thanks - Bill in Kerrville

      I get most of my extrusions from Michael Shuler, he calls it his One Fence system. I use them everywhere so all my fixtures can be interchanged. I also use them as cauls and attach them to my bench when I want to raise pieces off the bench. Here's a link to his site if he is still selling them...

    Hi Sam- could you share with me your favored choice for the clamp mechanism you’re using to secure your jig to your slider? Thanks in advance. Mark in Ann Arbor

    • @SamBlasco
      @SamBlasco  5 лет назад

      The positioner is screwed to the auxiliary table. The simple plywood jig uses the positioner to set it's distance from the blade and is then secured to the slider via gibs in the T-slot.

    • @SamBlasco
      @SamBlasco  6 лет назад +1

      That was a clincher, made by "Jointech." They are now out of business. It is pretty much a lead screw positioner. You can get the same basic thing from Incra now. I chose the 26" version. I'm quite happy with this device.

    Where can I get a zero clearance throat plate lake that?

    • @SamBlasco
      @SamBlasco  4 года назад

      Kenny. I made my own from 3/8" thick Garolite CE sheet stock (a phenol resin based product that uses canvas for its layers). It is very hard on tooling, but I made 10 inserts at the same time. That was in 2006. I'm still using the original one, ha. This stuff is tough.

    • @SamBlasco
      @SamBlasco  4 года назад +1

      @@kennyferguson9085 Sorry, Kenny, no. I've used several for different dado widths and like having some blanks around. Besides your geometry will be slightly different than mine since I have a cu 410 Elite S, which has a larger saw assembly to accomodate a 14" blade. You would need to use the same tooling you would use to make your own, to modify one of these, and cut your existing edge, plus add extra holes to your cast iron ledge. Trust me, more involved than you'll want to gain one throat plate. Make your own -- it is an excellent shop project. I made my first ones out of plywood many, many years ago for practice, and when I got it down I cut up the Garolite.

    Where I can get the saw guard

    • @SamBlasco

      I made the saw guard 16 years ago, or so. I originally got the base plans on an old forum, "Badger Pond", plans posted by Gordon J. Sampson. But I have modified it so many times to get to this point, that it barely resembles it. I really like where I have it now.

    I like your video, but why do you have music and then try to talk over it - it makes no sense and is very irritating when viewers are trying to listen to what you are saying.
