How to Make Tapered Legs on the Jointer

- Tapered legs give furniture a sense of lightness and lift. For many, the hardest part is getting consistent results from one leg to the next, and sometimes within the same leg. There are many ways to make tapered legs - on the bandsaw or table saw are two examples. To make multiple legs with the same taper, you usually employ some type of jig, which means you are spending time making the jig instead of tapered legs.
There is a method you can use that involves no jig building at all. You need the ability to do some basic math and set up the jointer. Yep, you can make accurate tapered legs on the jointer with nothing more than a stop block.
