Edit - just reflashed to the more powerful tune. WOW. Just drove it. The car is INCREDIBLY fast ... hard to describe but feels identical to a V10 R8 NOW (feels like another 30hp ontop of the 45, plus another 30lb of torque). There is ZERO-drone, sounds like a V10. The extra flow you can feel when pushing the throttle and the downshifts are downright scary with the LWFW. More videos coming!! I am MORE than impressed. Even the AUDI mechanics mentioned that they're not usually impressed unless it's TT 4.0, but this was something else ... and the sound.... my word.
I have had a 2015 RS5 for over a month now and have been happy with the sport exhaust; but this is making me drool for something of this nature. Impressive!

Nevertheless the only viable option I saw as Emailing Kline exhausts I was told they don’t make the complete headers anymore, was to do exactly what you did, ie removing the actual cat and splicing it with a free flowing tube, possibly all the way down to the try bolt connector like you did. anyway, as you have installed it for some time, do you mind telling me how is the: a) noise when cruising around with the valves closed? Is it ok, and compatible to the car before with the valves open? b) Dose the car smell, many people on forums advised me not to do this as they said the car would be smelly and rough, losing its German refinement. Hope to hear back from you, as I’m planning on doing the same. 😀
35-45 wheel horsepower going to stage 2 with exhaust. LWFW and LWCP free up about 20hp, and the headers with the new tune add another 20-30. I’d say she’s sitting right around 530 now. It’s faster than a stock V10 R8, sound is incredible, truly unique.
I've pretty much watched all your videos of the rs5. Fallen in love with it, and the sounds it makes quickly lol. On a performance note, with all the upgrades you've done to it, how much faster is it? Do you have any dragy data, or compare it to other vehicles you've raced in it?
Hey Nathan! Thanks for watching! There was hardly any performance mods documented on RUclips, thus why I decided to upload. It’s a very special car, and the sound with the high revving V8 and DUAL clutch combo is a mouth watering experience to drive. Always leaves you wanting more. Re: Performance. I ran 13.5 at our local track, stock. I ran 13.1/12.9 with the exhaust. With Stage 2 tune + TCU tune I ran 12.3. Since going to the flywheel and headers, this has been the largest difference, not just in performance, but sound, and consistent power delivery. The removal of headers and new tune dropped my oil temps from 120-135 to 95-105, resulting in more performance, all the time. I’m at high elevation, however, with the mods I’ve done 3.5x 0-60 and 1/4 miles under 11. I’ve been busy, had a son, so not as much time to drive it, and I’m confident the project is finished now. A sub 3.5 0-60 + sub 11sec quarter mile + the sound + the driver feedback and connected feeling with the dual lurch and flywheel, it’s 100% a drivers car, that happens to still be pretty dang fast. Overall, I’ve dropped almost 1.5seconds on the quarter mile (much of this due to proper cooling and transmission improvements) and almost a second on the 0-60. Bro science, but butt dyno says probably a 50-60wheel hp gain. Car is still sensitive to hot temps and altitude, but on a crisp fall evening, she roars!
Required to do engine drop for the JHM Headers. Pulley and crank seal can be done from the service position, flywheel can be done from partially dropping the transmission.
It sure was! While engine was out (since I'll be keeping it for a long time) I had them check the motor mounts, front/rear seal (front was sweating, so replaced it) among other items. Turns out both cats were falling apart and likely ready to fail at any-time. Also did the flywheel, crank pulley, and all fluids at the same time (DSG ATF/MTF, coolant, diff, oil).
Stage 1: 25hp Stage 2: another 20hp Headers: another 20hp + new tune Flywheel and Pulley: likely freeing up 10-15hp All told it seems to be about an additional 50+ wheel horsepower (or 75-80hp at the crank) and 60lb ft torque.
Can't wait for more POV drives . I found a MANUAL TWIN TURBO RS5 on instagram.... That sounds like a dream car for me. However, I heard the manual swap for the RS5 is a pain in the ass. I can't wait to hear this thing RIP. Dont worry I am subbed

They don’t have to be made of Inconel, and even though it would be a bit more expensive, they could do a changeover with stock headers once a customer has put the custom ones up in and have both types with higher and lower price points on the market. The biggest cost for me would be time. I’m not a patient person 😂😂. If there was simply replace option available I wouldn’t hesitate.
@@olik9388 I would contact JHM. Initially; there wasn’t much interest, and the price of 899 was to offset the cost of install. They have the fabrication schematics now from my set, if the price was right they might do it, or, if more people were interested in off the shelf headers they may start doing it. @@PantherBlackAudiRS I Fucking love those B8.5 RS5's but when I found out that 80% of the services under the hood require an engine out service to the tune of about 20k I sold my 40k mile example and used a small portion of that money to buy a 2013 E63 AMG and a 2012 C63. Sorry but Audi's are mind boggling good but insanely expensive to keep that way.

@@Sam-vk3tz yes the LWFW from JHM is amazing on this car. It also now has been anodized and a reinforced Center section. The RS7 is amazing, but I still preferred my RS5, even though it was quite a bit slower. More of a drivers car, having said that, an RS7 with JHM’s tune and exhaust would probably transform this car as well. Redline is 6800 and I miss that 8800

Hmmm, not really. The collector was improved, the bends were smoothed out. I’m also not sure how you’d punch the catalytic converters out with the manifolds still installed.

Set a world record 60ft time in the snow, then had a baby, and needed a 4 door and it was sold and then bought an RS7. The record is on Dragy, this was also the first RS5 in the world with all these mods, there are quite a few now with these mods, that may have surpassed these times, including JHM. Also, not sure how a lightweight flywheel is a bolt on… thank you for watching however!

A lot of disassembling just to put headers on. What's the cost of installation?
Audi did it for 30 hours including the LWFW, LWCP and headers. Actually a really good price, as JHM estimated about 22 hrs for the flywheel alone.

No, very different based on the CFSA platform, basically a V10 R8 engine, but missing 2 cylinders. Sound is quite unique in these.
