I suggest listening to Strangers in the Night. It is in my humble opinion the best live album of all time. Lights out is a banger as well as Rock Bottom. I still listen to S.I.T.N. it's that good.
Chod! UFO’s Strangers in the Night live album is considered one of, if not the best Rock live album ever. I highly recommend you listen to it in its entirety. The live version of this song, plus Doctor Doctor, Lights Out and Rock Bottom are just magnificent.
@Zoey The Savannah I’m with you! Can’t get enough of it. I was not able to see them live and had given up on trying, but lucky me, I finally got to see them during their farewell tour back in ‘19! Although much older, they were awesome!
In some ways I agree, in others I'm not too sure. When it comes to new listeners I know many who find it easier to get into with the studio materials sometimes while with others the live says it all and in a great and in your face kinda way. I guess it kind of needs to be determined in a song by song basis. I'd agree on songs like Mother Mary and Lights Out the live would be great but still think at least for first listen songs like Natural Thing and Cheery are better with the studio version as first listen to before hearing the live.
Arguably one of the best rock live albums of all time!!!! Love 2 love was their version of stairway to heaven. I saw them live. 1982? , they backed up Cheap Trick,( Dream Police Tour) ( Yes, I'm old enough to say I did see Randy Rosdes play live when I was 16). I Was Sooo!! into Cheap Trick (Still Am), But I bought a UfO concert T-Shirt instead of Cheap Trick!!!!!!
This makes me so happy!! Michael Schenker is my favorite guitarist of all time. Dive deep into his catalog even if not on the reaction channel. You will not be disappointed. The album Strangers in The Night he did with UFO is still regarded as one of the greatest live rock albums ever😎🤘🏼
I saw MSG open up for Molly Hatchet at the Capital theatre in Passaic NJ. It was their first album and I had no idea who he was. I was into my Southern Rock quite heavily then and all that changed after that night! What a show. I went out the next day got that album and eventually UFO, Priest, Maiden Queensryche albums followed and I was hooked and still am to this day. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Gotta comment, JB the guitarists guitarist!!! Also Michael Schenker the Wunderkind!! Saw UFO in 1980,(sadly no MS😫) but still rocked the house!!!! Michael Schenker is idolized, asked 2 play for Ozzy, Thin Lizzy(B4 Phil enot passing),Scorpions and others, he chose music over money. People now are starting 2 realize how much of an impact UFO had on 80s metal god
The first five albums that Michael Schenker did with UFO were the soundtrack to my youth. Then they put it all together with the stunning Strangers in the Night live album.
I know reactors hate to hear it but with certain bands who have iconic live albums there are versions of their music that are a must to experience from their live albums. This is one of those bands. This song on their live album Strangers In the Night is much more powerful and the guitar solo much more intense and better, longer at the end.
Interestingly, my first ever concert was back in '76. UFO opened for Blue Oyster Cult. And 45 years later you played them back to back. Love these 2 bands.
@@billdCT97 I tell my young friends about the Hells Angels being hired as security for different concerts back in the mid to late 70s and mid 80s and they think I’m full of it. But us old timers know better.
Yup, and are still in the business with 23 albums under their belt (25 if you count the 2 "Mogg/Way" albums with Pete Way, Paul Raymond and of course Phil Mogg making up three-fifth's of the band).
This is when Hard Rock / Heavy Metal had more melody, dynamics and better songwriting. I'm a guitar player since the late 1970's, UFO'S guitarist, Michael Schenker was the bridge between the Hendrix and the EVH Dynasties. This is one of Metal's greatest Ballads .... hands down .
My favorite band of all-time!!! You have a lot of great music to choose from with them Chod (23 studio albums worth of material plus 2 albums by their off-shoot band "Mogg/Way" with UFO vocalist Phil Mogg, keyboardist Paul Raymond and Bassist Pete Way). They're a band of storytellers with a truly fun side and music from the very dark to the very bright and talent that just goes on for miles. Oh, and since I didn't see any postings for them yet, here are the lyrics you asked for ... Love t Love - UFO Oh it's been too many times and I can't go back Night bars, guitars, run down motels like shacks What it mounts up to I don't want it at all Lost you and I want you today Misty green and blue Love to love to love you Misty green and blue Love to love to love you To be something, to be near you Don't say that you'll never know Love to love to love you Half the time it could seem funny The other half is just too sad This west bound moon's only rise and fall Lost you and I want you today Misty green and blue Love to love to love you Misty green and blue Love to love to love you To be something, to be near you I don't know where I'm goin' to I've tried and I need you to stay
Saw these guys in 1979 with Judas Priest at UTA auditorium in Arlington, TX. 2,600 people in a tiny hall, they blew our eardrums out as I was on row 4. Close up and personal. Fantastic jam
Thanks so much to reacting to one of my favorite 70's bands, UFO.. They have many, many great songs to check out like "Mother Mary", "Let It Roll", "Love Lost Love", "Electric Phase", "Too Much of Nothing", "Cherry", "Natural Thing" and much more.. For a new band you could try Wishbone Ash.. songs, "Living Proof", "Lifeline", or "Master Of Disguise"..
Another perfect pick, kudos. Heard Love to Love on a late night radio show back in 1977 when UFO were promoting Lights Out and man were they proud of this cut. Never forgot Schenker's magnificent work throughout the album but Love to Love was something special.
Now the live version from the Strangers in the Night album has the best version of this song. Strangers in the Night is recorded live in Chicago and Cleveland. Lights out in London, Rock Bottom, and Too Hot To Handle, and Doctor, Doctor are great songs off the epic Strangers in the Night live songs album.
"Love To Love" Oh it's been too many times, and I can't go back Night bars, guitars, rundown motels like shacks What it mounts up to, I don't want it at all Lost you, and I want you today Misty green and blue Love to, love to, love you Misty green and blue Love to, love to, love you To be somethin', to be near you Don't say that you'll never know Love to, love to, love you Half the time it could seem funny The other half is just too sad This west bound moon's only rise and fall Lost you and I want you today Misty green and blue Love to, love to, love you Misty green and blue Love to, love to, love you To be something, to be near you I don't know where I'm goin' to I've tried and I need you to stay
You should check out the live version from the live LP "Strangers In the Night" or any song from that LP. It's mind blowing greatness!! Love these guys.
The first time I heard this band was at a concert. That "misty green and blue" had me hooked immediately. And the way those keyboards float above the song
Your analysis is great. Everyone has a different emotion but that's the beauty of great tracks like this. I was born in the wrong decade man. This music is the new classical, as far as I'm concerned. Can you please dig into, and check out UFO:An Hour of Space Rock - any of the tracks. I've been waiting for someone to react to that, and you're the guy to do it. You will not be disappointed!
They recorded in the US as Angel City because the name The Angels was already taken by some nondescript LA punk band. You're right though. How them and UFO never made it big is practically criminal.
UFO didnt miss the train they just never were really allowed on board. For several decades they were making and producing rock music that far surpassed their peers. Alot of the rock pumped out onto the airwaves here stateside was pretty much fruitless topical junk with no soul and no punch. UFO had everything but never got the air play to get them into a prominent position on the charts throughout their career. YES and one of the best live albums Strangers in The Night. specific track Rock Bottom recorded at Chicago's International Amphitheatre delivered singularly one of the hottest guitar solos by Michael Schenker ever put on vinyl.
I'm going to ask a huge favor. I stumbled upon this band 4 days ago and they have blown my socks off. If this is the future of Rock I'm all in. The band is Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and the song is I found God in a Tomato. Give a listen let me know what you think. I'm 54 and love all types of music and this just blew me away, new rock that I love.
You're not underrated at all when you receive from the hard and heavy scene such a highest recognition as the "Icon award" ! You can say he's not on the mainstream for a lot of reasons, first of all his own purpose to stay away from the spotlight since he left UFO...Schenker is a living legend, so unique and different from all the bunch of copycat shredders that came out from the 80s, thanks god!
All the great comments and songs , and no mention of my personal favorite , The coming of Prince Kujuku !! Chad check out this track ruclips.net/video/ni8PHkBmRCQ/видео.html
One of the most underrated rock bands
@Zoey The Savannah i agree I’ve been a fan since my high days in the 70’s watched their “Final Orders Tour”
Phil Mogg is one of the best rock vocalists of all time. Very powerful voice, but he's a singer, not a screamer
absolutely. He doesn't get enough credit.
I suggest listening to Strangers in the Night. It is in my humble opinion the best live album of all time. Lights out is a banger as well as Rock Bottom. I still listen to S.I.T.N. it's that good.

If you're going to do UFO, you have to pick the live tracks off of Stranger's in the Night
Absolutely!! Mother Mary, This Kids, Rock Bottom and Lights Out from that live album are insane

Agreed. The guitar playing on that album is the best ever put down on record IMO. Insane and beautiful.

Mr Michael Schenker is a guitar god. By the way, his favorite guitar player is a guy named Jeff Beck.

It's Leslie West
The first five albums that Michael Schenker did with UFO were the soundtrack to my youth. Then they put it all together with the stunning Strangers in the Night live album.
Mine too
Besides Rush in 1977, also saw them with Blue Oyster Cult in 1979. They were unbelievable live.
Saw that tour in the US in 79. I was 13yrs old. Remember every note 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶 i
Recommending "Mother Mary" from the live album.

UFO one of my favorite bands- under appreciated! Thank you!
UFO, GREAT BAND.
If you do any more UFO please yourself a favor and do the live version off Strangers in the Night the best live album ever
Great reaction to a great song! Check out Rock Bottom. Awesome solos!
Lots of modern rock bands have said they were inspired by UFO. Iron Maiden play UFO songs out of the PA before their gigs.
What an amazing album....Metal Ground work here!!!!!
For your next UFO song check out DOCTOR, DOCTOR live from the strangers in the night album
Interestingly, my first ever concert was back in '76. UFO opened for Blue Oyster Cult. And 45 years later you played them back to back. Love these 2 bands.
I saw them the same year....opening for BOC......i was blown away. The Hells Angels providing security was pretty intense as well.
@@billdCT97 I tell my young friends about the Hells Angels being hired as security for different concerts back in the mid to late 70s and mid 80s and they think I’m full of it. But us old timers know better.
Rock Bottom and Doctor, doctor are great choices too....and lights out
UFO, in general, Kick ass. This song, wonderful.☺
Lights out (in London) there top hit!
Super duper underground band that only the IN rock fans know them. check out "Mother Mary.
UFO are an English rock band that was formed in London in 1968.

A+ Top Notch Blue Ribbon Guitar Solo
Let It Roll and Shoot Shoot are the essential songs from their live album Strangers in the Night - though all of it is excellent.
Excellent point, classic songs that are often overlooked.

Well worth the wait Chod. Thank you. One of my first shows in 1977. Michael Schenker 15 feet away.
@Zoey The Savannah - right down the road at the Santa Monica Civic Zoey!
78 at Hammersmith Odeon for me👌👌👌
"Love To Love"

now this song you needed to listen to live version off of their 'strangers in the night' album.
Mist green and blue refers to the Love of playing live and bringing the music to the people
Michael Schenker is the best! Started at agee 16 with the Scorpions on the lonsome crow album. He's a true virtuoso! Love him.
UFO's best live song... Strangers in the Night Album..... Love to Love
One of if not the most underrated albums of all time.
You should check out the live version from the live LP "Strangers In the Night" or any song from that LP. It's mind blowing greatness!! Love these guys.
The first time I heard this band was at a concert. That "misty green and blue" had me hooked immediately. And the way those keyboards float above the song
Welcome to the UFO-side!!! Way more to check out!!!
1974 Phenomenon album check out Oh My and Built for Comfort 🔥🔥🔥
Awesome Todd that's one of my all time favorites growing up I first thought the name of that song was misty green and blue 😂
Woah...at first glance I thought this was “Love to Love You Baby” by Donna Summer. Entirely different song.
ROCK BOTTOM - that solo makes me almost want to cry!
UFO - Venus from the Album Walk on Water, or Running on Empty :)
There is UFO before Michael Schenker too. Try Prince Kajuku or Flying from their second album UFO2 :-)
Totally forgot this one, thank you!
1st ballot hall of fame band. should have been as big as zeppelin purple sabbath.
Best live album...they're on the final tour...check them out live
UFO with guitar God Michael Schenker : perfection! 🤘🤘
UFO has some good songs. This was not on my 2 albums that I bought in the day but I like it a lot. Thanks
@Chod. UFO - Rock Bottom, studio. Queen Of The Deep, Out In The Street, Natural Thing and Lights Out.. for starters
Loving these reactions. This has to be the closest time UFO ever got to prog.
I saw AC/DC open for UFO on the Highway to Hell tour.
Thanks for doing UFO. Great band and live tracks are the best.

What a cool song. I use to think it was called Misty Green and Blue.
Vocalist is really good also. Of course the guitar is the stand out.
Demorou pra mandar UFO, mas valeu a pena esperar. Porém... UFO é superior ao Led e Black em qualidade guitar melódica. Valorize isso! 👍🏼
Gods!
Tommy James and the shondells Crystal Blue persuasion you got to give it a listen please
THIS WAS KILLER.. UFO RULEZ
THE ANGELS..BEST BAND (HARDLY ANyone) KNOWS.. CHECK EM OUT

This song live is insane. I believe Strangers in the Night was meant to be listened to with the lights off, head phones on and volume at 10.
"Lights out in London"
This is proper rock
From watching your reaction you're loving this
I'm going to ask a huge favor. I stumbled upon this band 4 days ago and they have blown my socks off. If this is the future of Rock I'm all in.

You must listen to the LIVE versions on Strangers in the Night. So much better!
Please do more UFO...Michael Schenker!
You are awesome..
Now if you would do some live Roxy Music from the early 70's. You would be a God
Another extremely under rated band MOTT THE HOPPLE. If you admire DAVID BOWIE check MOTT (all the way to Memphis) killer guitars too!
Not many remember Mott. I agree. Ian Hunter a true Rock Star.....he still plays in NYC. I think he is over 80
Michael Schenker always under rated as a guitarist
UNDERRATED ? Michael Schenker ? 😳
@@nicolasarbogast2739 yep .. IMO
