- In this video I depart from my camp in the Superstition Mountain area in Arizona and head towards the Prescott National Forest near Prescott, Arizona.
Thank you for being here.
*My name is Brian. I started living full time in a self built camper van in 2014 in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I hit the road full-time in 2015 to pursue seasonal work and travel around the U.S. I find free camping on public land and enjoy photography, hiking, biking, and kayaking in nature. Join me on my adventures.
Thanks for watching!

I can't express how much joy your videos bring me. I especially love the close up pauses on all the flora and fauna you encounter on your adventures. I sincerely thank you for sharing your life with us! :]
Yay🙆, trees🌲, much preferred by me.✌
It's so beautiful to open your door and see Mother Nature the cows and the birds and the Beautiful cactus flowers in the beautiful opening roads
“You have to be solution-oriented.” I love that! Thanks for the sentiment.
I hate when my meth pipe breaks! 😂😂😂
Great video, Brian! I loved the first campsite in the desert, that was beautiful!
Also, I believe I read animals are drawn to eating charcoal as it's good for ridding their digestive system of toxins. Our chickens used to get in our firepit and eat bits of it.
That made me lol
Probably from the RV that pulled next to him in the first spot. I see that shit at a place and I'm outta there.
You're the luckiest man in the world Brian!
Kelly is pretty awesome!
Luck is something that happens by chance.
He chose to live this way, you can do the same! 👍🙂
Can't deal with the snakes. I wish I was like others who can easily just be cautious, but the fear is so great.
Brian, mount some cameras on your rig to look out when you're covered up with those shields.
Your videos tempt me to sell everything and hit the road. After watching you camping in those beautiful places, I question why I am living the way I do, in a major, busy, noisy, crowded major California city. The weather is beautiful here, but I am hamster on a wheel.
Hmmm, methinks I'll be looking at vans this afternoon. 👍🏾
" I am hamster on a wheel."... Exactly!:)
@@ca98981 stop saying, start doing! 👍🙂
Do it girlfriend, do it! We're only young once! Then afterward you can sit in your rocker and look back with a grin on your face and no regrets! 🥰
You are a very nice, thoughtful man and I have followed you for many many years. I don’t understand why anybody would run a generator if the temperature is 70°. Wow. Waste of nonrenewable resources in addition to the noise.
Thanks for being respectful!
Modern campers don’t understand the concept!
God’s blessings.
It always amazes me when people pull into a spot right next to someone - especially when there are tons of spaces. It's like parking your car away from all the others in a shopping mall and 10 seconds later someone pulls up right next to you. LOL! Enjoy the beautiful spot.
Exactly! It’s just like why!?!?
@@KRT045 Sometimes they figure YOU will move and then the space is all there's.
That's called 'herd instinct'. Here in New Zealand, all Kiwis know to give others personal space. It always surprises us that foreign travellers will park right outside our kitchen window while the rest of the camp is vacant.
Like someone taking the bathroom stall right next to yours when there are 5 other empty ones...
@@munchkin0518 this!
That diamond back was pretty big. GR8T video.
Love the wildlife. Not a snake fan. Beautiful tho.
I learn so much from your channel. If your adventures were captured in a book I’d never put it down. I never realized that some national forests require you to move in only seven days. And oh man, that generator sound is truly horrifying. I will make sure if I ever do become a nomad I will do everything in my power to avoid them. Your drone shots are second to none and I keep coming back to your channel over all other nomad channels. Your authentic appreciation for nature is really what the lifestyle is all about. Just beautiful
HEY! Good morning Brain and thumbs UP to you !👍
These cows roaming the desert are hardcore. We have watched them chomp on cholla before!
You're such a pleasure, Brian. Truly. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏾❤
Your cow friend just was amazed at seeing you.
I think the cattle were eating the burnt wood because it contains minerals and salts they need.
Just watched Luis make a pizza in his Dutch oven, he makes killer bread too, you should look into one.Surprised you can find "New places to see, " you have traveled all over this country.✌😀
wheres yur better half kelly we miss not seeing you 2 together . we love seeing you . 2 camping . together brother
Brian you are becoming a great Chef!!👍👍👍✌
Some people take activated charcoal tablets because it's been shown to help cleanse cells in the body. Charcoal is a common filter for water, and the medical community has used it for years to treat poisoning. because it can help prevent toxins from being absorbed in the GI tract. The cattle might instinctively know that it helps them to stay healthier.
I'm glad you got away from the generator. I've been to campsites with generators and they really destroy the peace and quiet of the outdoors. Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to the next adventure.
One can keep themselves in fairly comfortable temps when you have a home on wheels. This has always been a plus in mobile living.
Great videos. My wife and I both enjoy your channel. We miss Kelly. Will she be able to rejoin your adventures
Have you ever thought about getting a sprouter? You would have fresh greens all the time and it's very small. We have a couple of videos showing them.
Fresh sprouts are great but require daily rinsing while growing. Water in a van is a precious commodity.
I'll check your channel to see if you offer an alternative to daily rinsing. Also vehicles can get too warm at time.
@@Kayte... we lived in a RV for six years and it doesn't take much water
Yes, I do. My 'sprouter' is just a small jar with a cloth over the top held on with a rubber band. Fresh micro greens all year.
Hi Brian! Your priorities are absolutely amazing. i Love how you are living the good life, enjoying everything our creator has provided for our pleasure. The wind on your face, the health enriching sunshine, the beauty of the snow, there gentle rain, with it's life giving properties, great food ideas that are full of healing vegetables. I am retired now, but I enjoy some of the very same things, even in my own back yard, way out in the country. God bless you Brian. sincerely, Louise
You can cook for me any day. Lol.
Glad to hear that you and Kelly are going to get together soon.
Generators urrr, those bulls where probably eating some kind of fat drippings from whatever the last person made, or some type of food, they don't care what's on the charcoal or wood, they'll eat it.. great location and so glad you moved away from the noise and people...
I was going to say that it looked like the prickly pears were about to flower. Then the other cactus blooms popped up. 😊
Rattlesnakes, good food & cattle munching on coals in the fire, what a varied life you live 😃
Thank you again for another great video. I have been looking for one of those windshield covers for over a month for our 1995 Dodge Ram Van, thank you, I found it. That stir fry would be perfect with some shirataki noodles. Thank you again for your wonderful videos. Safe travels.
Beautiful campsite! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Beautiful spot to stay in
Crack pipe, rattlesnake, longhorn bull, generator, rough road, pizza and snap peas! Really! That's what I get for watching the whole video! My life sucks, going back to bed, can't compete with all that 🌛! Happy travels my friend 😊
Having just spent my first winter in Maine, and looking at this video, I sure miss the southwest!
Would that windshield cover be good for a snow/ice storm situation too?
You highlighted 2 things I love deeply: the beautiful state of Arizona and fire-grilled pizza. Enjoy tagging along on your journey. Thanks.
Man I hate snakes, lol. Thanks for sharing that, awesome new site though, rough roads definitely worth it.
Snakes aren’t for me either!
I could not watch the snake! I kept asking my husband if it was gone yet…
Ha! As someone once told me, only good snake is a dead snake 🐍
Boondock in New Zealand. No snakes!!
@@binkinghufy3658 nor nothing that kills you or maims you, except for those thorny bushes. I spent a month there, explored both islands. Beautiful country with very friendly people.
I've been hanging a hummingbird feeder since last Thanksgiving. Those little hummers usually find it within a few hours to a day in a new location. Very entertaining to watch and fun to learn about the different species. Something you might consider. The cheapest Walmart feeder has worked the best for me, better than the pricey glass ones.
Beautiful Landscape 😍😍😍🤤 & I'm hungry after this video 🤤👍
Thanks Brian👍👍
Ashes are full of potassium and magnesium. Those cows know what they need. It’s also why it’s good to spread ashes in your gardens.
Very nice video!
Love Prescott.
Peaceful. Thanks for a look into your life ❤️
Great shots of the Rattler and the Bulls! 😁
great video
I saw you at Walmart last week - just made my day! Realized I had no idea what your name was. Anyway, I enjoy your videos so much. I'm headed back to Kansas tomorrow. Keep your videos coming!
Beautiful Dessert Bloom's Another Mouth Watering Pizza Nice Welcome Home Dirt road. Big Rattlesnake 😬 Can't wait to see Kelly ✌️
Thank you for sharing the beauty of the nature around you
Nice camping spots! Not sure about seeing a snake though lol!
Rattlesnake pizza is delicious! Stretch the hide for barter/$. It is used mostly on hats. Use caution with the fangs, but the head and rattles are $ in your pocket!
Great video, love camp life, you found a great site.
Great that you have enough clearance to navigate those rougher roads! Amazing that your noisey neighbors got that "big rig" up there.
No sense in sitting around in hot weather when your house is mobile, especially with those longhorns & rattlers around. Always like your cooking. Thanks for all the new content Brian.✌️
Smart move getting out this week! Supposed to be in the 70’s next week but the heat in the desert is inevitable!😂
Just a thought you could drill a hole on the box area and install a wide angle door peephole if need that comfort. As always, thank you for sharing your life with us.
i used to live in Prescott.. the forest is beautiful...nice hiking there
visit the downtown of prescott ... whiskey row ... interesting wild west history there
lots of "rehabs" in prescott...unfortunately, many of the residents don't go home when they are discharged.
Cows eating charcoal... I recall something from my days in Scouts (in the 60s) that burnt toast was part of a remedy for stomach upsets. or.....poison? I'm guessing that Mother Nature has taught the bovines that activated charcoal can be a good thing. Great video, Brian. Thanks!
Outstanding Brian, you have to love the life.🙏❤️🙏
Nice looking stir fry. I haven't cooked with ginger much, and I wouldn't have thought to combine it with garlic. I'm going to have to try it now. Thanks for sharing!
You know when it's not going to be chill when generators and meth pipes interrupt your Zen.
Love the frozen veg mix, so convenient and budget savy for the single meals. Cheers Brian 🤣🇦🇺
rattlesnakes , bulls, and smack pipes!!
you're the man dude what a video
Great video, Brian. Enjoy your time with Miss Kelly when she is done with her current job.
Nice to see you in the ponderosa pines. No mud and no wind means spring is on its way! Thanks for sharing the trip, etc. it’s always great to ride along Brian.
Wow! That was a big rattle snake. I am not comfortable having a stranger camping that close to me. You are pretty handy with those chop sticks, lol. Thank you Brian for this wonderful video. Safe travels. Peace.
So, Tom. You're telling me that you know every neighbor in eye sight around your home??
I doubt that.
You should check out Idaho. There's some great camping around Atlanta Idaho in the mountains.
Thanks, you’d probably enjoy my Road to Atlanta video.🤙🏼
I hate when I find a nice quiet spot and then someone nearby runs their generator all day. Time to move! Love your videos. Thanks! 👍👍
Thank you 🙏 for your video
Probably can smell something in the burnt wood. Great video Brian thank you brother ☮️😊
Your videos are very helpful in my camping experience..you are amazing
Mount a small camera high on the box so you can monitor movement out front. Reversing camera with its dedicated monitor will do the trick!
I’m so enjoying your videos lately! Really with you on the second site, I don’t enjoy that kind of heat and especially that rattle snake would have put me right out of there!! I enjoy the trees so much more than the desert! TFS! 👍🏻🐶🐶💕🙏🏻
I like how mindful you are of the forest and the people around you. I am a tent camper and I absolutely hate generators, the noise just ruins the sounds of the forest. I read somewhere that in some places they’re limiting the amount of RVS due to the overuse of generators polluting these beautiful places.
Thanks for another great video! You have the greatest outlook and patience for van life-I definitely learn something from every one of your videos.
Always be safe out there! Love your videos.
Glad you found a better spot! Thanks for the windshield cover recommendation! Love the pines!🌲💚🌲 Enjoy!
Hi, I had one of the same covers.....but had to replace in 2 years. I bought the BougeRV (silver) and it is so much better. Sorry, but I have tried both. Wish I would have bought it first.
That was nice liked seeing that rattle snake 🐍 be safe glad you did not hurt that snake God bless you on your travels 😀
Thanks for another day-in-the-life Brian.
Those steers at the last site were very used to seeing people. They are normally more skiddish than that. With horns like that they're getting some age on them too.
Your second site is a real keeper. It'll be a nice couple weeks there.
The rattlesnake would scare me. Wow. Be careful.
Brian, just wanted to thank you for being such a stellar Stewart for all of us boondockers. You were definitely an inspiration for me to take the leap 4+ yrs ago. Never regretted it. And yes, cows love charcoal! Had them destroy my fire ring while munching down in Wyoming. I was like, what the heck! Safe travels, my brother, may we meet down the road..
I know I love burned toast, with lots of butter however. Maybe the supply their own butter flavoring? 🤣😂
Charcoal is great for what ails a body, they might find it medicinal!
This is the difficulties with having a significant other. Everyone wants to know how she is doing also. Happy travels.
For a thin and crispy pizza crust I used 2 big burrito wraps with a sprinkle of cheese between them. so they stick together and to phem as you usually do, it makes a wonderful easy crispy crust..
Veggies look great!:)
The cows like the burnt wood and ash from the fire pit. it helps them with their digestion. Eating the desert shrubs.
Thanks for a great video, Brian!
Good job on nearing 100k subscribers. That's a long haul. Been with you since you left San Diego 6 years ago. Thanks. Keep doing your thing Brother.
Living in So Cal is crazy, Brian. I have been craving that peace! At least I can find it through your videos.
I have a Jeep renegade Trailhawk, small car, I pull a snowmobile trailer that I converted to a camper, just so I can get to those places most others can't reach. Works for me and the wifey! Nice spot.
You know what is also good on tacos besides onions? That cow. 😏 👍✌️
love prescott! Based in phx, really enjoy heading up there. If you're looking to continue north, check out edge of the world near flagstaff. Little bit of a drive but nothing 2wd can't handle. Leads right to a cliff with great views of sedona!
Watching you creep through that rough road, it made me wonder if you wish you had 4WD? Great video, thanks for sharing.
Love everything about this video! Gorgeous camp spots! Really looking forward to be back out there in a couple weeks. Thanks for sharing and Happy Travels! Stay Blessed! 😁🙏🏼💖
That was rude of the those people that took the spot next to you and then ran their generator. I will never understand people who don’t consider others.
Their rig looked questionable.
Breaking-half bad or something.
It's the mentality of some people these days. They couldn't care less about others around them.
Interesting video! Snakes, flowers, parks, yummy dinner! All good. I respect your solution oriented thinking!
LOL re: the bull and your onions...methinks there's a good childrens' book in that story😉. Wow on the snake! We wake up to cattle, often, wildcamping in Alberta. Love the windshield cover. Always enjoy your videos! Thanks! 👍😎💜🇨🇦🌲🦬 PS hate those generators!!!!🙄
Your videos are so peaceful, as I sit in my 4runner in the desert evening and relax before bed. I love your cooking too!
Superstition mountains view, beautiful.
Watched all your videos. Inspired me to live in a van. Please keep them coming. Hope to meet you somewhere
Hi Brian, hope you are well. I don't know about longhorns, but I know there are primate species which have a fruit-rich diet and they raid the local villages for ash and spent coals which they eat to counter the fruit acidity. Looking forward to seeing you and Kelly together. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work.
