*In this video I return to camping in the Sitgreaves National Forest in Arizona. I was sick with a bad cold for a week. After slowly recovering I find a nice camp to settle in for a bit. I get out on my mountain bike and explore the area and cook up some meals on the camp stove.
Thank You For Being Here!
*My name is Brian. I started living full time in a self built camper van in 2014 in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I hit the road full-time in 2015 to pursue seasonal work and travel around the U.S. I find free camping on public land and enjoy photography, hiking, biking, and kayaking in nature. Join me on my adventures.
Thanks for watching!

Having the place to yourself, priceless 😁
Yum. That was a great looking burger.
Great food and great surroundings. I can not wait to live the life you have. Great video.
I love such relaxing atmosphere and the yummy meal.😀👍👍
Anything cooked over a campfire in the outdoors can be a delicious treat! Your stuff always looks exceptional!!
Good times with Van Dude. ✌️😁👍
Thanks for sharing the interview and the shoutout to my channel! Your awesome, Brian. Can't wait to meet up with you again :)
How peaceful!
A real vacation
Thanks for sharing!
Your channel is very calming/zen. I am a new subscriber, currently binge watching and I love your positive energy. Thank you for wonderful calming content to watch while the world is in chaos. I enjoy your work, sir. You have a wonderful day! ❤️ I am happy I found your channel.
Thank you. Welcome✌🏼
Thank you for your video, Brian. It just seemed very relaxing, with the forest scenes.
I especially enjoyed you, cooking up your food.
Thanks for letting us tag along. Be safe!
I make a sweet potato chili that is easy. You brown ground beef, add spices add some tomato paste, stir together. Add a can of diced tomatoes (I use the ones with green chili in it). Then add a diced sweet potato that you have cooked through (I start this out first and it cooks while I’m doing the ground beef). When the sweet potato is cooked I add it to the beef mixture and cook together. You can serve it with cheddar cheese, sour cream, onions, green onions or whatever you want. The spices I use are chili pepper, cumin, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, cayenne. Also... you inspired me to learn to carve a spoon so I got a kit for Christmas! Stay safe and keep camping! Peace ☮️ ✌️🚛
Brian, try grilling your purple onions. Cut thick, so that circles stay together. Put on grill, or in your cast iron pan. Slab of butter on top. Grill until golden, flip and grill other side. YUMMMYYYY!!!!
WOW!!! Wow those wavo rancheros made me hungry.
Excellent job Thanks.

An easy good meal is to slice up any meat chicken, beef, or pork into half inch slices. Also cut up a green pepper into half inch slices as well as an onion. First fry up the onion and green pepper until they start to get soft then throw in the meat until it is done and serve everything over rice. It's especially good if you use a homemade teriyaki sauce: mix soy sauce, brown sugar diced onion, diced garlic, and a dash of vinegar. Let the meat soak in it for at least a couple hours.
Love green sauce for my chicken enchiladas. Flour tortillas, chicken, onion, black beans if want, cheese and green sauce all mixed. Then green sauce and cheese on top. Can definitely make in a skillet.
Looks like you took that log out of the water trough. The reason it was there is so that smaller animals can climb out if they happen to fall in there. Just fyi.
Your compassion is admirable. Please tune in to the next video and I will show you how those troughs are designed to prevent that. No logs necessary. 👍🏼✌🏼
One of my favorite, easy meals, is to cook pork in a slow cooker, with verde salsa. Shred it after it’s tender enough. Serve it on a tortilla with refried beans and cheese. Makes a surprisingly good burrito.
Sunshine daydream 🌞🌲🏕⛰🚵🏻♂️
You made me so hungry with your breakfast. Great camp ground.
I am now starving for that meal..................enjoyed the video keep it up.
We just purchased a Fox Outfitters grill like the one you use. We're very happy with it! It's the sturdiest small portable grill we've found. We got the larger one, because the small one was out of stock at the time. Thank you, Brian.
Lol! I also bought one ( I got the small one) and broke it in on my trip to Quartzsite. I bought springs and installed them as well to hold the grill when flipping. Hope Brian is getting some goodies from them!
Hi Brian. Potatoes and eggs. Fry potatoes. Grab a couple of eggs scrabble them in to the eggs. I made this for my boys when the were home.
Excellent video! That burger looked amazing!
Hi Brian just watched Kelly's video now I'm watching yours a favorite recipe for camp is as follows. Slice up two to three potatoes cook them about halfway then add peppers onions and a hot dog or two cut up. Continue cooking till the potatoes are done and seasoned well. In a cup, scramble up two eggs with a fork or whisk pour that over the potatoes, put a lid on till the egg Cooks then of course mix it all up sprinkle cheddar or American or whatever kind of cheese you want on top and put the lid back on and steam till the cheese melts. That is an excellent camp meal and tastes so good out in the wild.
Great job on your spoons. Your food looks yummy. Great spot. Enjoy.
Hey Brian I hope you guys are okay I hope you're not sick you and Kelly are healthy and not sick hope you guys are doing okay stay safe if you don't feel good don't move around stay somewhere warm look forward to seeing your videos whenever you can cut one out enjoying watching you and Kelly move around safe travels
Hey Brian, you asked for recipes. Here's one of our favorites - Easy Chili:
1 lbs of lean sirloin or your favorite meat (or not). I chose sirloin over hamburger because it's more lean.
11oz can of chili beans
11oz can of pinto beans
11oz can of tomato sauce
24oz jar of Pace Picante Sauce (spiciness to your taste)
Cube the sirloin to 1/4" cubes trimming off fat and any gristle.
Sear in a hot pot
Add chili and pinto beans (be sure to rinse the pinto beans unless you want to reenact a scene in Blazing Saddles)
Add tomato and picante sauce
Let simmer on low heat (so it has a light boil) with the lid off for 1 hour or more. Occasionally stir.
Enjoy!!
The reason I like watching your podcasts with breakfast. It’s like watching an episode of Seinfeld, it’s a show about nothing with cooking ideas and tips. Have a great day Kevin and keep on truckin’.
This is a show about life and freedom!!
Awesome 🛠️🇨🇦🛠️🇨🇦
Hi Brian. We love your vids and watch every one. I watched here where you used a metal plate ro cover your pan, then VIOLA! 😯 You flipped it over and it became your plate! Ingenious!!! This way your food stays warmer longer and there's less dishes to wash. Thank you so much for showing us that. Now, I just need to find those plates.
Not sure what I appreciate more....the campfire cooking footage or the van/exploring! But both are outstanding - thanks!
Try this recipe: white chicken chili.use 1and a half cups shredded leftover chicken or some cooked up chicken tender,diced in a medium saucepan.add 1chopped onion,3tb olive oil, 1- 4oz.can drained green chilis,3tb flour,2tsp grd.cumin,and 2 cans northern beans.andabout14oz.chicken broth.stir and simmer for about 10minutes till heated thru.and thickened.garnish with shredded cheese,sour cream,or salsa.serve with cornbread.yum.quick and easy
I’ve had good luck with Mr Tuffy tire liners it stops Goatheads, glass and thorns.
I like your fire starting method. Just add propane.
We always had Potatoes O'brien/eggs on top/cheese on top and bacon, at camp The spoons are awesome😊Hope you enjoy more beautiful days❤🙏🥰
Well, this was like camping without any work - fabulous video thanks!!!
Jeez it's get so starving coming out of watching of these video starving to death watching all that great food thank you for sharing your pictures awesome LOL thank you

An other beautiful peaceful place to call home for a while. That whole area would be great to explore on a CT honda, it looks like It goes for miles and miles. What great fun, and a delicious looking burger hot off the grill. Glad your feeling better. Thanks for sharing.
Used to drive on those forest service backroads when I would go on hikes with my Dad.
Great video. Thanks Don
Brian I could actually smell that burger through my phone. Smelled amazing !! Lol. Safe Travels Amigo !
Thank you.
Dang!💫
You need to find some good green Chile to have with your eggs and sweat that cold out! Nice tour of the national forest.. take care and hope you get well!
I am just flabbergasted , that nowbody else is there.
Beautifull spots.
Your videos are always so relaxing. Thank you!
Wow! It would have been cool if you had done a whole Bob Wells style interview and tour.
That guy is really unique! He is not only another van lifer, he is an overlander and disabled. It seems like there was a really Interesting back story that could have been turned into a compelling video. Jus' sayin'.
Love your pot, I've got 2 of them. Your tin plate/skillet cover, got one of those too. I'd swear your up north of Williams... maybe west of Flagstaff, might be around Parks. Lol all looks familiar. Looks relaxing to be alone again. Take care. 🤠 👍
Thanks Brian for sharing your video absolutely enjoyed the nature as always
God Bless 🙏

Try the Stokes Green Chilli sauce with pork or veggie…also fantastic!!!
You’re still the best camping cook!
Great job. Thanks for sharing. One thing I always do with my burgers is toast the inside until I get a black toasty ring around the edge. Really makes a difference.
this video made me hungry.😛
Pancakes are always a great breakfast... excellent with 💙 blue berry
Whenever you're in the forests of Arizona I want to drive 89A between Flagstaff and Sedona. Enjoying all your videos. Hope to someday experience travels and work such as you have shown us. Thanks.
In today's world we often forget that we can actually just have a Cold or Flu....
Glad you're feeling better....
Great back to Nature Video....
Thanks....
A side table that keeps your side dishes warm. Fantastic! Lol. I'm glad you're feeling better. 🙂
I always enjoy your clips thank you
Although you've said you could go back to a standard van, it looks to me like the box van is the perfect solution to your chosen lifestyle. I believe Dreamside Out was a bit of an inspiration for you in that regard. If I get the chance to pick one up at a decent price, I think I will. I'm strategizing for retirement, and I do appreciate all the inspiration you provide. Hope Kelly is feeling better!
I always preferred simplicity and that simple burger is alright with me. 😁👍
English breakfast tea! Which here in england we just call tea! And we put milk in it.
Nice camp.
I grew up in northern Arizona...you make me homesick!
Great video
I enjoy all of your videos… thanks for sharing…
The desk looks great! The desert sure is nice when it's cool!🌵
that breakfast looked so good
I was just wondering how you were doing. I always feel so much better listening to you. Stay well my friend~
I feel like when you have time to whittle is your best times.
Beautiful relaxing place among the trees. I was surprised you cooked with a camp stove when you had a nice fire going. I enjoy your video's.
Hello from Maine. 5F and another half foot of snow coming today. Don't you wish you were here!
Great craving you did with the spoon. Seems like a fun project.
I like making Japanese Curry with vegetables and pork. I just buy the S&B Japanese curry package at Walmart and mix it with whatever vegetables I have handy with some pork on top of rice. Delicious!
What a tranquil soothing video… it was awesome! It almost felt I was there. Thank you 🙏
I sit down to watch some RUclips and I see Brian has a new video. I decide to watch it. By the end I am so hungry I want everything he made. I am trying to lose weight, Brian. But to give you credit it looked to be good food for that too.
Yay!
There are so many lovely spots to camp in those woods! The snowflake/ice shots were epic. Thank you for those!! One of my favorite breakfast dishes is made by TheDanVan. Scrambled eggs with green peppers, garlic and onion is chopped finely. Throw those in a tortilla with some left over brisket from the night before and a little cheese with a side of fried taters Vicky VanGo style. . I call that breakfast!! I love the ending with Disabled Overland.
Okay the brisket caught my attention! 😁✌🏼
Your wooden spoons are beautiful. I find when there is a slight curve - the bowl would be slightly lower than the handle - it is more ergonomic, more comfy to use.
Your videos are lovely, peaceful and tasteful. Thanks.
✌️
GOOD MORNING MIJITO 👋
AND HERE I WAS WONDERING WHAT I WOULD HAVE FOR BREAKFAST THIS MORNING 🤗
GET BETTER KELLY 🙏 TY MIJITO
SAFE TRAVEL'S EVERYONE, ONWARD BOUND ✌
Great video, love your cooking and watching you enjoy it
my nearest diner makes breakfast taco's, just sausage or bacon on tortilla and little egg and potato and salsa and some Avocado if you like
I was wondering if you were still carving, nice to see you are. This was great relaxing vanlife video Brian. Glad to see the daily grind. Hope you feel better soon. Take care buddy.
I was wondering do you ever sell your carved items if so would you be interested irn sellong such items because I am interested in buying
I like how you cooked your eggs, frying them with a cover over them. Similar to a poached egg without the water.
Fun time. Thanks for sharing.
My brother was named Brian RIP We went camping as kids. When I see you chop wood and build a fire I think about him. Thanks for taking me along🤙
My brother just passed before Christmas. So sorry that your brother Brian passed. So sad to lose a sibling isn't it?
@@sharonk2949 Sorry about your brother. I miss mine very much but I know I will see him again 🙏♥️
@@sharonk2949The loss of a Sibling hurts more because we have a close bond with our Sibling or siblings, my parents only had my Brother and i until after their Divorce,my Dad remarried and we got a little sister from that. I lost my Brother suddenly in 2012 miss him very much, lost my Mom Dec 4th 2021, my half Sister on Dec 12th 2021 then my ex Son in law on January 9th 2022 . My Dad also passed in 2008... i have my children and Grandchildren... sorry about your loss
Wicked good spatula! Greeting from Bangor.
That breakfast looked amazing.
I was surprised that there was that little bit of snow. The rim usually has more. I'll have to see about getting up there soon.
Thanks for brining us along. It helps those of us that are stuck in town and wishing we were there.
Feel better Brian.
Beautiful scenery, yummy looking food, self reliance, sunny blue skies, tall pines, fresh crisp air, and FREEDOM! Great video! I like the look of the non-sanded spatula, looks like hammered metal! Thanks for another great video 🤗 ✌️
Great video. Guessing that stick that was in that water trough is to help small animals get out once the water is running again. Like that you can use your bike to reach out an explore more once camp is setup up.
OMG!! haven't had eggs RC in years sounds so good.
I'm using an old timey method for colds . Updated with a zinc tablet.
Twice a day scrape the white fibers from orange peals. Lemon and grapefruit works too. The white fibers on the inside of the peal contains quinine. For each scraping add one zinc tablet. Keeps a cold in check. Helps your body fight the cold. Chicken soup and rest helps too.
Nice camp.
Great Mt bike camp !!!! Love it 👍👍😁
Love the end! Trippy 😜✌🏼
Cool vidya. Looked great. I picked up 2 things. Juevos rancheros no doubt. And wooden utensils. Thanks.
