What people dont realize is a Chinese invasion of Taiwan would legitimately change our ways of life. Whereas the russian invasion of Ukraine is purely about Russian interests and has no legitimate effect on anyones lives except for the people in Eastern Europe, the Chinese taking Taiwan would allow China to have a monopoly on the world's Semiconductor market (Taiwan produces over half of the worlds most advanced microchips). This control would make the cost of everyday electronics and technologies such as computers, phones, cars, TV's, literally everything skyrocket as the US and other countries would have to figure out how to replace the production that China will now yield as a sword over the west. Not to mention that Semiconductor market control would boost China's economy so much that it would likely at that point surpass, if not become equal, to the US. Also, since literally every piece of miltiray tech needs those chips, China could legitimately control other countries militaries by denying them access to those chips.

You make it sound like US Special forces wouldn't be the last ones at the Chip Plant setting C4 charges and sending it up in flames right before the advancing forces get there. There's no way the US would let the Chinese get that capacity or even technology without a fight. It's also why it was forward thinking to assist/convince TSMC to build a plant in Arizona...Far away from any China conflicts.

IF we let Russia have Ukraine, they will go after Poland, who is now a NATO nation... That puts US troops on the ground, plain and simple... If they fail to take Ukraine, it ends there... If they take Ukraine, it's just the beginning... Same with Taiwan, if they take it they will eventually go after Japan, they have been sworn enemies forever... We blew up Japan and became allies and helped them rebuild... A lot of Japanese products have been in the US for decades... The US is protecting its own interests with as little actual fighting by the US as being needed... The more we help these countries get secure on their own, the less US personnel is needed if something comes up down the line, and the more stable the world the better the economies for all... There are always several ramifications both positive and negative from these things, as current history shows with Biden's stabilization of the oil market... Causing prices to drop all over the world... But you also have the collateral damage on both sides also... Like I said, let it go and it escalates until someone eventually goes nuclear... I don't care for that option if it can be avoided... Just My Humble Opinion based on stats and facts...

THEY don't teach world history like they used to... The WWII vets are almost all gone, and the Korean and Vietnam vets are in their mid 70's and up... If Putin takes Ukraine he will go after Poland, as they have always wanted Poland and been enemies forever... Poland is part of NATO now, that means US troops... After the US blew up Japan to end WWII, we became allies and helped them rebuild... Japanese cars are some of the most popular in the US and most electronics were Japanese back in the early stereo days as the transition from analog to digital started... Japan and China have a long history and it is just like the Russia and Poland thing... Give them Taiwan and they will work towards Japan... Then you have the crap in the middle east, and a lot of other continents in the world have a couple regions or countries that are always on the verge of war or something... Look at The Americas, the US has people flooding the southern border fleeing all the crap happening farther south... It's the world we live in... What people fail to realize is that it is the US that keeps the world from being destroyed by war (someone would eventually go nuclear) and in the process, it keeps the US leading the way with the best Military, economy and everything else we lead in... The more we force other allies to step up (pay up or whatever), the less power we start having... You can look through the history and see how things affect the US and the world, and it is easy to realize that it has a more positive effect when we are the leader because we push a democratic society, and are showing how good it works to boot... Then again, I could be wrong... Just My Humble Opinion based on stats and facts...

Yass raised a very good point. Yes, it's true, the US invests more money into its military, but both Russia and China have major issues recruiting and keeping the best talent. People, from all over the world, that have the knowledge and skills necessary to make the best equipment, tend to go and work for the US and its allies. The West not only offers decent pay, it also offers freedom and a quality of life that countries like Russia and China just can't match. For example, over the last few years, Putin has become increasingly paranoid, and recently had several his scientists working on the hypersonic missile program arrested under questionable circumstances.

Love you guys for reacting to USA stuff. Let me shed some light on this particular video. The USA is defending a single company who pretty much controls the planet at the moment. TSMC. They make the process nodes for literally all the top companies in the world. AMD, Nvidia and even Intel use them. Intel has their own fabs in the US but they aren't as good and even they know that. If China takes Taiwaan, they own the world. It's either rely on Intel who has been behind for years or use TSMC who now has Chinese back doors built into everything you ever use. They know literally everything about anyone in every country! Biden did one good thing in his entire time in office. He allowed TSMC to build a plant in the USA at reduced costs. I give him credit for that. That plant will be completely USA based. No spyware attached. Just ours I suppose.

Taiwan being invaded will be responded directly by Japan and subsequently by the US so the Chinese invasion force will face the extremely difficult task of fighting off Taiwanese guerilla/civil defense force which has been training for years now AND the might of a very aggressive and competent naval force from two naval powers (US & JP)
On top of that its possible the Philipines and Vietnam get involved against the PLA somehow as they may feel that the enemy has crossed the line by invading a neighbor and if that wasn't enough paralysing US airfields and going after the fleets just is not even close to being enough to knock the US out permanently as the Chinese strategy is essentially an improved version of the Japanese strategy in world war 2
The airfields will become operational soon enough and the navy is going to require more than a few dozens of anti-ship missiles to get sunk and even without aircraft carriers the US missile destroyers, frigates and surface attack submarines will inflict heavy damage to any PLA forces they come across
This whole idea is a horrible miscalculation by the Chinese government if they think they can just somehow directly take on the US and they will be thrown into an ass-kicking back to reality worst than what the Russians are experiencing in Ukraine

Lots of people have lots of negative opinions about the US. Just a couple of thoughts on it. First, it shouldn't be the job of the US to police the world, but be glad it is the US that is doing it and not some of the other countries that would. Free trade lanes are largely secured and maintained through US escort ships. You think things are expensive now, just imagine if all the shipping lanes weren't secured. Yikes! Second, amd most importantly, the US is a patient country as far as military might. People talk all the time about Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc... as being failures militarily, but it is a bit complicated. If the US chose to unleash its military might unbridled and without constraint it would be unmistakable. We haven't unleashed our full military might since WW2. We've tried to be a little more discretionary about it and what we have seen is enemies playing on our patience and mercy. For example, Saddam Hussein routinely hid antiship missiles in schools and hospitals in Iraq, knowing we wouldn't target them. By trying to please the world in conflict, things tend to last far too long, cost far too much, and don't usually have permanent change. When Hitler was defeated, that was the permanent end of Nazi Germany, especially on a world power scale. It might be unpopular, but perhaps the most humane way of dealing with conflicts is to deal with them quickly, and overwhelmingly. Instead of condemning a country trying to follow all the rules of war, maybe start dealing with enemies that won't fight on a battlefield and use civilians and international media to garner support for the types of people that use women and children to hide behind instead of fighting on the field of battle.

I have to say, I agree with Trump. Other countries have to start stepping up, the US can't support the entire world (with the notable exceptions of China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran), especially the NATO countries who are NOT paying their share to support the member countries and those they defend. Everyone seems to think that the US has endless funds but just look at our national debt, it will tell you otherwise.

I wonder if Trump did get elected if he'd back off on the not supplying international countries with arms. I get it Politically to de-escalate the states, but a the same time, it's a great business. Good, high paying jobs from White collar to blue collar, and very little (virtually none) chance of outsourcing the jobs to other countries. One of the few goods and services that the rest of the world is willing to pay what it costs because American workforce products are not on the budget end.

As some one paying taxes in America what concerns me is my tax dollars now have to go to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. 3 large scale proxy wars, some worse than others, but still. I am slightly worried that we are going broke helping all these other countries that couldn't really defend us if we were in trouble.

I am sick of the us helping Israel and Ukraine will eventually have to give up as it seems the current US equipment isn't coming fast enough and The US doesn't have a Domestic semiconductor as good as TSMC so Sure let's not help Ukraine or Taiwan. but the United states continues to build expensive aircraft carriers and no one complains that they are too expensive and we should stop building them.
How much will the new nuclear missile system cost $131.5 billion? LGM-35 Sentinel
The ICBM-replacement program now is expected to cost some $131 billion, 37 percent more than the previous projection and some 60 percent, in real terms, over the service's original 2015 estimate.4 days ago

Republicans, always complain, and say we don't have money for health insurance, and this and that. But when it comes to tax breaks for the wealthy, they seem to Always find the money. The problem is the west overestimated Russia which showed to be a banana republic military which would make sense considering how underdeveloped Russia was. China on the other hand is extremely developed and I believe the West are underestimating China. If China were to take Taiwan in a week. Then the US would lose it's hierarchy and a new scary world order would take shape. Never underestimate the chinese they are highly organized and effecient.

China and Ukraine bought Joe Biden, which explains why these two countries present a problem. American military leadership has gone woke, and we saw the disaster of that mentality when thecUS suddenly withdrew from Afghanistan.

China, and Russia, both have been interfering in US elections, to try and make trump win. Why? Because they know he's a total moron, that they can wrap around their finger. Trump has believed putin, over his own National Security, he's already talked about lowering America's Military Strength by pulling out of NATO, and losing allies. He's already said, if our allies, can't afford to pay, what he thinks they should pay. He would tell Dictator Putin, to go ahead, and attack all he wants on Ukraine. Can Ukraine Afford NATO FEES right now, or join nato right now. NO. But after Russia has destroyed their country, all their cities, raped, and murdered women and children, Yes of course they want to be a part of NATO. Mr. Criminal rapist, moron, would want to help Russian, and Chinese Dictators.

15:11 That actually makes sense. There’s only so much that the U.S. can do for the countries that they’ve sworn to protect. Had other countries not rely heavily on the U.S. to save them, they PROBABLY would’ve had a stronger military by now. I’m not a Trump supporter, but a part of me wants Trump to win the election so that does happen, as much as it absolutely sucks to do that to our allies
