If you ever see a B-2, it means you're probably going to be okay. It's the ones you don't see that are the problem. I happen to live about 30 minutes from Whiteman AFB, so I've actually seen them flying on many occasions. Particularly during Chiefs games at Arrowhead. It's not uncommon at all for the B-2 to do the fly over. I say that to say that it NEVER gets old. It will stop you dead in your tracks every time you see it.

the Massive Ordinance Air Blast (MOAB) aka Mother of All Bombs has a blast radius of 1 square mile with power of over 11,000 tons of TNT. the Hiroshima nuclear bomb was measured to be 15,000 tons. it is one of the most powerful non-nuclear bomb in the US arsenal. aside from the MOAB the US also has the MOP Massive Ordinance Penetrator a 30,000lbs bunker buster designed to bust through over 200 feet of concrete before detonating.

Crazy fact about stealth, remember how long things exist in the military before we find out about them when I say this. Our first stealth bomber, which was intentionally mislabeled as a fighter, the F-117, it like any other aircraft was flight tested before production. It was designed on a computer. Here’s the crazy part… it was first flight tested in 1977! The same year Atari released the 2600 and Star Wars first came out!

The B-2 is the most expensive aircraft in the world, with a price of more than $1 billion per plane. The original plan was to produce 132 of the bombers. However, during the 1990s, with the Cold War at an end, production was reduced to 20 operational bombers and one experimental plane.

This aircraft is only about 100 kilometers or 60 miles per hour faster than the average Boeing or Airbus airliner. It mainly flies at night because even though can't be seen by radar you would still be able to see it in daylight. If you see it you have nothing to worry about. If it was after you you would never see it coming. It also carries missiles with a 750 mile range.

The B2 is getting retired as we speak. We have already released the new B21 Stealth Bomber which looks very similar to the B2, but MUCH more advanced. If you really want to freak out over what the US has, check out the upcoming NGAD (Next Gen Arial Dominance) 6th gem Stealth Fighter, that will have 2 stealth "Loyal Wingman" Fighter Drones. The NGAD pilot can even fly and fire the drones weapons. It will also integrate with F35s and new F15EX2. When u see how they all network together and share info and weapons, it gets crazy.

I am the daughter of a soldier. I was born and lived on base. I also lived in the middle of the desert in Southern California, which is close to several military bases and area 51. It was the early 1970s when I was 11 years old, and I can tell you the US military was doing things you have no idea. I saw stuff that had me running for my life. I can assure you the US is doing stuff the world has no clue about. I have lived through most of the Cold War, so I understand what's going on. Russia didn't invent nukes. They stole it from the US using spies. China is constantly spying, hacking, and stealing our technology. When you make technology and share it with the world, unfriendly countries, hijack it, and use it to their advantage. The USA and several European countries went into China and Russia and built factories and manufacturing plants, and now they're showing their true backstabbing faces. As of this year, the US defense budget is now $885 billion.

A Massive Ordinance Air Blast has a blast radius of 1.2 miles or 2 kilometers. The Massive Ordinance Penetrator version of the bomb weights 32,000 pounds (15,000 kg) and can penetrate 200 meters of concrete. The only time that it has been used in combat was in Afghanistan and it destroyed half of a mountain and killed over 1,600 Taliban terrorists. A Special Forces observer asked over his radio if we had accidentally dropped a nuke.

Those 30,000lb bombs are ground penetrating so you could run but if the ordinance were say GBU-43 Massive Ordnance Air Blast instead than the blast radius is about 1.2 miles but I think the over pressure may also kill further out. Anywhere the pressure wave hits with 80psi or higher is a place not conducive for staying alive.

Then a loud thunderous roar of like ten freight trains rolling right by you, that just carries on and on.
That was the night we dropped the MOAB on the tunnel complex, and that guy was 8miles away from where it was dropped. lol

I served in the United States Air Force for 30 years at relatively high levels and am very familiar with nuclear capabilities. Only those who directly threaten the most important interests of the United States, and there are only a few nations that possess such a capability, and most of those are allies, need to fear the capabilities of the B-2 Spirit, and it's follow-on, the B-21 Raider (not to mention the other components of the US nuclear triad, namely the Minuteman III ICBM and the Trident submarine-launched ballistic missile). However, any nation or entity with the capability and desire to threaten the United States should take note--you have zero chance of prevailing, and will most likely have committed national suicide.

this 30+ yr old plane has a bathroom, bed, and kitchen in it. Its whole purpose is to make it through the enemy's defenses and drop its nuclear weapons is the reason why Russia will never use nukes against a country that allies with the United States. Tossing ICBMs at each other will have its destruction, but both countries are likely to survive a full ICBM nuclear attack...so it is what a country can do after or in addition to ICBMs that makes the difference. Russian ships will not be floating long after the first detection of a strike, nor will their air force be allowed to fly very far from their airports before being intercepted, leaving Russia with no viable response capability beyond their ICBMs. The US has multiple planes that can get close enough to drop multiple munitions that can eliminate Russian civilization and has a naval force capable of eliminating Russia on its own, and all this is on top of its own ICBM capability and its conventional warfighting capability that includes weapons from space, weapons using high energy, and drone technology that is unrivaled vs the whole entire world.

These have been around since the 80s, pretty sure one of the longest flights using them was after the 9/11 attacks in 2001. These took off from the US, flew all the way to Afghanistan and returned home. Obviously they needed aerial refueling. But these things are apparently so stealthy that a US Humanitarian aid plane that was flying over Afghanistan dropped their supply drop and then only after the bombs started exploding did they realize they had a B-2 flying behind them. And those were the first bombs dropped on Afghanistan in retaliation to the 9/11 attacks. As for hearing the bomb and running? you aren't going to hear the plane and they mostly use these at night, by the time you hear the sound of the bomb cutting the air you might have time to think of running before it explodes, but that's about it.

To pay for this elevated level of spending would require slashing government services like the NHS along with other social programs. Would you guys prefer to have a massive military OR government healthcare, paid vacation, sick days and maternity leave? We have none of these programs in the US due to our massive military spending and it causes much suffering for poor and working people.

Strangely, when one was shot down by pure luck in the 90's .. the problem was that it was TOO stealthy (might be remembering an F-117 crash). In moderately technical areas, it would block cell tower reception. So if you could triangulate the tower location, then the loss of signal, you could follow the plane's path. It's not hyper accurate, but a saturation attack to the area could hit the B-2.
