Now my pop didn't laugh very much, so I had to see. I crept out into the hallway and peeked around at the TV. There was Don Rickles on the Tonight Show throwing insults at Johnny, Ed, and Doc. Rest in Peace Don.
My room was the first room down the hall and I could sneak to the edge of my door and lay on the floor and watch Carson from my room. I got caught quite a few times because I fell asleep in my doorway. Wish I could get a ticket to travel back to those times for a week!!!

Don was making his usual mafia jokes and the mafia guys that ran the joint didn't think it was funny. They took him out behind the theater and started beating the hell out of him. He really thought they they were going to beat him to death. He had almost had it when the door to the alleyway opened and Frank stepped out and saved his life when he said "OK, that's enough."
