Written by Darren Korb, vocals by Ashley Barrett - Игры
Have you noticed that Red's walking animation shown in this trailer is less solid and more "airy" and casual than the one in the final game?
+Sackboy the Spy989
Yeah I noticed that too. It looks more like skipping than actual walking. She also doesn't drag the Transistor around on the ground like she does in the final game.
+James Evans At :55 you can also see an older version of the Camerata
Yeah I saw that too. It seems that when she's using the bike, she also carries the Transistor slightly differently.
Yea gotta say, they definitely made the actual game one better.
I was in Walmart’s video game section and this exact trailer was playing on the PlayStation demo screen. It stopped me in my tracks, and even as my parents led me out of the store, I repeated the name Transistor in my head over and over so I wouldn’t forget it. I was 12 at the time, and I didn’t have anything besides a Wii in terms of gaming equipment, so I turned to the internet. Little did I know that watching Transistor being played would affect my life for years to come.
This game and it’s music, graphics, amazing female protagonist, and beautiful ending made me cry. I’m 18 now and this game got me hooked to video games for the rest of my life. I’m so glad it did. Thank you Supergiant. To anyone who made it this far in my ramble, I’ll see you in the country.
See you there. -- R.
This game is... Better than everything... Better than everything else in the world... The musics, and the idea of the game... I just love this game and I'm so sad I just finished it :(
Same here, they really hit the spot with this trailer. It's what initially got me super interested.
Me too.
It’s an excellent game and I’m glad supergiant has followed it up with another great one in the form of Hades, it’s just a shame Transistor didn’t seem to get the same level of recognition
This soundtrack is just beautiful.
what did you honestly expect :P
Jakob Nørregaard I expected the best, and I got it.
2019 and still one of the best game trailers I can think of.
2021, and same
👍 also in 2023
I hate rewatching pretty much anything I've seen before with a passion; meanwhile I'll replay this trailer over and over again without ever getting tired of it.
ಠ_ಠ...I could throw money at this screen all day.
Who wouldn't...
10 years later and this game still looks beautiful.
dat drop is amazing. instantly sold on that point. And then the high note came. Holy shit. Did i mention the high note? It is absolutely stunning. She has a beautiful voice.
Rory Black the timing of the drum and bass percussion kicking it was so fucking awesome..then like you said that drop. Ugh. Love it. I remember my friend told me that one of the later levels started having vocals in Bastion and I thought it would be annoying and repetitive but I was blown away. The producer(s) of the music are incredible at setting the mood for each area perfectly
I love this game, but look at Red's stilted fucking walk cycle in this trailer. It's hilarious.
I'VE NEVER NEEDED ANYTHING MORE IN MY LIFE
except that one time when I was really dehydrated and could've used some water
Can't wait for this. I only just got around to playing Bastion and it's fantastic. I'm glad that I'll have another Supergiant game to sink my teeth into at some point.
What did you think of Transistor? :)
Did you also play Pyre and Hades?
I am sold... The music is awesome, and if it is as good as bastion - oh dear lord.. I loved the music in Bastion, and so far i love the music in the trailer... Hope it is in the game...
I just finished Bastion and I must say I'm so freaking excited for this game. Man Bastion was good :)
They're living up to their awesome soundtrack they gave us in Bastion
So exciting, Supergiant is amazing and from what I've already seen & played, the pinnacle of interactive stimulation.
If any of you haven't, play Bastion, seriously. You will regret nothing.
They'll regret they didn't play it sooner.
I stand corrected.
I can't stop watching this, the colour pallet of this game is so aesthetically pleasing. If wall prints aren't made available of the concept art for this I think I'll cry.
2023 anyone? Just beat this game for the first time, and I'm absolutely so mad at myself for taking 9 years to beat it.
From the creators of Bastion....
THE BEST WAY,
TO ADVERTISE A GAME,
EVER.
Bastion is amazing
Game of the year 2014 nominee!
Saw game on PS4... Downloaded game on PS4... came here to say, I've barely gotten into the story line and can honestly say, I'm hooked. Excellent combat system, graphically delicious, and that music, holy crap that music is something else. Loving the game guys.
Same here dude! We got it free for Playstation Plus and i'm hooked on EVERYTHING about Transistor, the music, the gameplay, EVERYTHING. It's such an amazing game!
I spent more money on the sound track goodies than the actual game ...worth it!
watched this trailer close to 100 times... still great
2023... and i'm still watching content of this incredible game... and replaying it.
Any hope for Transistor 2?..
Man. Coming back to this years after, and I still get chills from the music alone
According to the blog post, they're working on making it possible to preorder. I hope they can get that working, cause I couldn't possibly give them my money soon enough.
Every damn time I watch this trailer I get chills. May 20th can't come around soon enough.
I remember playing this trailer on repeat for months just to hear this song over and over again
Oh my god, just the intro makes me shudder. Thank god I only found out about this today, because if I'd had to wait since March of 2013, I think my heart would've exploded by now.
Seeing as Bastion is possibly my favourite independent game of all time, I am very much looking forward to this. The only worry is how they deal with the story. What made Bastion so amazing and unique was the manner in which the narration was executed. Not just the seamless way it was interposed with game play, but having a man who sounded like the love child of Mark Lanegan and Barry White to read it. That is going to take some beating.
One of the best games in my list
The song practically made me buy this game. That voice.
man, whoever is in charge of music at supergiant needs a raise.
I NEEEEEEEEEEEED IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT
Such a great game. Bastion never really grabbed me but every minute of this was captivating and enthralling.
The music and the look of the game is amazing, cant wait for this one.
Kid can hardly contain his excitement when he sees and hears the trailer for the very first time.......
This looks awesome.
Definitely the best 2 games already played in my life, Bastion and Transistor are perfect in every way, congratulations supergiants, waiting for new releases :D
Release date - May 20th for PS4 & PC.
This game reminded me quite bit of why I also loved FFVII and Fallout 3 so much. Incredible atmosphere
I'm more hyped for this indie game than for any "big" regular title.
Bastion had a unique soundtrack, Was a beautiful game. & I know this will be to.
can't wait.
I have been brought to this game years ago by John Bain. I can hardly think of being more grateful for a recommendation. You, guys, are leaving a magnificent heritage by this game. He did it by presenting me with this masterpiece, which left unforgettable experiences, unskippable music, uninstallable game reside on my hard drive.
Thank you, all the people involved, for being able to enjoy such a gem.
Jen Zee's art never ceases to amaze me. Supergiant has some amazing talent pool
Cuando el videojuego se puede llamar... "obra de arte".
Just... just let me buy the damn soundtrack. Please! :D
Preordered this yesterday with the soundtrack... Needless to say this is now on repeat till the 20th.
A reveal trailer that entrances with gameplay and story teases that make it look interesting enough for half a million views is one thing.
Doing that with footage from the first 15 minutes of the game is something else entirely.
May 20th!
Must.....get.... song!
Happy 10 year anniversary to this game, a phenomenal work of art to experience
I can't help but come back and watch/listen to this every day... amazing song!
come oooooon. I wanna play dis!
guys, i understand u still got game work to do, but how about throwing this song on iTunes at least?
agreed lol
And lose 50% of the profits plus admin fees? When serving music digitally there is really no good reason to sell through iTunes or its ilk unless you want to compete in chart rankings.
Then throw it on their home-site for sale/download?
It's not actually officially released yet. May 20th is the release date of the game and OST.
store.supergiantgames.com
Their previous Bastion release was gold. One of the few game OSTs I've actually purchased. And still one of the best soundtracks ever.
Thanks man! I didn't know.
Yea,Bastion had an amazingly beautiful soundtrack. Worth every penny.
I have never bought a game just because of the a soundtrack until this showed up during the 2014 summer Steam sale, and to this day I have never clicked buy as fast as I did then. This soundtrack, the art design, the story, the gameplay are perfect. Hard to believe it's been this long already.
Supergiant has once again proved that you don't need a multi-million dollar budget to make a game with a beautiful visual aesthetic.
shut up and take my money!
Got 3rd strike vibe in the soundtrack
I love the art but sadly its not my type of game
I felt more of a Silent hill 2 vibe myself
***** go ahead and give it a chance, even though it is not your style. I don't like fantasy that much and Dragon Age Origins still was lots of fun.
One of the most beautiful games I've played in a long time. Well done Supergiant.
11 years since the trailer, 10 since the game came out. Such an amazing game.
everyone?
Bastion with a girl. Ok.
As if more Bastion was a bad thing?
David Snyder
It is when it's supposed to be an entirely new game. It's the same game with a new skin, I want to see what this developer is capable, as it turns out. Isometric beat em' ups with RPG elements.
If you took a minute to look at actual gameplay you wouldn't claim such a ridiculous and ignorant thing.
Johnny Torpedo
If you actually took time to look at gameplay you wouldn't be claiming "it's the same game with a new skin". By that definition almost every game is the same but "with a new skin", in fact almost every type of content ever created is the same but "with a new skin". Using similar game mechanics does not mean stagnation. It's like hating a book for using a particular writing style that's been proven to work for ages, or hating a movie for using techniques from the school of neo-realism. Don't confuse tropes with stagnation.
And even if I were to ignore that part, how exactly is it "the same game with a new skin"? The player character(Red) moves slower, has more meaty and heavy attacks, enemies have new movement patterns, abilities and improved AI. The story and progression of the game follows a much different structure and the "narrator" part of Transistor isn't an omnipotent observer but a live audience, a character, observing everything as you do for the first time in the thick of the action. That's a lot of differences for "the same game with a new skin".
I understand that similar games do not equate to stagnation, after genres exist. But it's the same art style, same engine, same perspective, same gameplay style. Yes as you say the character moves slower and has 'meaty' attacks. So the character will have more weight. That doesn't mean that it's enough to be considered progression. They might as well have made a Bastion sequel. A new game series should be individual enough that it can be called new. Not feel like an expansion of a previous game.
YES! A game from the makers of Bastion! I played Bastion to bits and is easily one of my favourite games. Can't wait for Transisitor!
One minute's worth of music, but I've spent nearly an hour listening to it. God, the wait for the soundtrack is gonna kill me, I just know it.
Darren Korb once again amazes the ears. I am looking forward to this.
These people are the only ones that can get me excited about a games sound track. The music in this video is amazing.
love to see that people still are making games by hand, no hardcore engine needed, just a piece of paper and a pencil...
I love how they kept the same narrator and the same singer by the sound of it. Can't wait :)
almost 10 years. God I love this game so much
Agree, I have watched this trailer like 100x now. Playing a whole game with the music and art. + a story and fun game play. I am ready for it !!
Having played Bastion, I think it's safe to say we need more Supergiant games. Will definitely be looking forward to this!
I periodically have to come back just to hear this song again. Darren Korb knows where my auditory g-spot is.
I picked up this game with literally no prior knowledge to its existence and was griped from the first words. Truly amazing
I just listen to this for the song...been a long time since there's been a game trailer like that XP
Seeing this trailer as a kid was one of the highest points of joy and excitement I have ever felt, thank you.
Shivers down my spine
this trailer does not get old
Ahhh a quote I've heard many a time and still love.
I've never seen this one before and am glad you've tweaked the run animation. x)
I'll say this as calmly as I can...SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
This trailer will always be amazing !
Oh I just want to devour this. Bastion was one of the best games I've ever played. And I've played many.
The song is so awesome....i keep replaying for the song alone...
Bastion's sound and art design were just perfect... Can't wait for this one. Keep up the good work, Supergiant.
DEFINITELY some the most incredible video game art ever made.
Watching this over and over just because of this amazing song
I get chills every time I watch this trailer, and it's just the reveal trailer.
I've been gaming for close to two decades now. In that time I've fallen in love with many games, but I don't think it's ever happened in the first few seconds of a trailer before. Damn SGG... Why you so good?
Thanks! Sounds amazing. Will defo look into it!
Played through the game several times and from day one it was on my Favorite list on steam and still is. Would just like to thank the people at Supergiant Games for making Transistor. Also while playing the game i made sure i took screen caps of my play through. Got Transistor a couple weeks after it came out and to this day those screen caps are still my background. Just love the art style and the music. Can honestly say this is the only game i have bought the sound track to. Again great job guys i look forward to your next game. :D
Thanks for the link.
I'm excited to hear the narrator's script again, this time in a blade it seems. That was such an novel concept, but I think it can be repeated without overdoing it.
Well, it's been over a year since this trailer came out and all the while I was waiting with bated breath just to hear the whole of "we all become" (because even if the game turned out poorly, which it happily didn't, the soundtrack was already obviously worth a buy).
All I gotta say is Darren Korb doesn't get enough press. Guy's one of the better, perhaps even among the best, composers of our time.
If Bastion was any indicator the full impact of it will come from hearing the music in-game.
Now that's what a proper trailer should be like. I know the game will be marvelous as well, and I can't wait. Bravo, Supergiant Games!
these guys never disappoint, i'm hyped
I've preordered this game and its soundtrack, at full price. They come out in less than three days... and yet, I'd still pay an extra $5 to get the soundtrack now. Darren Korb and Ashley Barrett know how to make incredible game music.
Love the music. Darren Korb has done it again!!
Unbelievable soundtrack. I am a big fan of Indie Games, they are always beautiful to the last detail. Bastion was one of them.
Thats because of the art style, It has a hand painted feel and uses vibrant colours.
God this voice gives me the chills it's so good. Keep it up SGG! You really know how to pick your vocalists.
