    • @Generictingz95
      @Generictingz95 3 года назад +4

      Day 1 (28 hours to be exact). Definitely bored out my ass despite trying to stay productive.
      This is my second time stopping. The first time was 3 years ago and I stopped for about 2.5 years. Then I started smoking again on 4/20/21 because they legalized recreational use In my city. I told my self, I’ll only smoke as a reward after accomplishing a goal or smoke only at the end of the day…that first week I smoked a little over half a ounce. The second week I smoked a whole ounce. These past few weeks I been broke as fuck (which was a result of smoking so much) so I was going through a half a ounce a week still smh.
      I’m so over it!! I have a lot less money, a lot less time cause I’m always going out to smoke. And one of the most annoying things, going out when it’s super hot and super cold or raining.
      It’s crazy cause I always tell myself “I get more into whatever it is I’m doing when I’m high” but once I’m high I spent countless hours doing non productive shit….I’m now realizing the true “trickster” nature of marijuana.
      Another thing I find crazy is during the time I quit smoking previously I NEVER even had a strong urge to smoke. Even when I smelled it I. Public. But once the days started approaching 4/20/21 I can’t keep weed out my mind. The days leading up to 4/20 I was counting down the hours to smoke. And since then I couldn’t manage to stay fully sober for more than a day…..I feel like if you want to quit you have to change how you view yourself. When I quit before I saw myself as a “non smoker” therefore I never wanted to smoke.
      I definitely see why some people never return after quitting…..can’t say when I’ll smoke again but this experience definitely opened my eyes to how much of an addictive personality I have

I was prescribed Seroquel by my psychiatrist to help with the insomnia in the earlier months and it really helped on those days that there was just no way I could stay still long enough to fall sleep. Now I’m taking other meds to help with my other mental disorders and I’m doing very very good. Sleep schedule wise, sometimes it’s stable and I sleep normal hours and sometimes (like these past few days) I don’t get sleepy until 2am and I sleep for 12 hours. It’s been a long way with ups and downs but a lot of progress has been made. At first it’s really really hard to stay sober but as soon as you get a taste of what being sane feels like you’ll do anything to protect it. It took me more than 8 months to get to that point btw. @EsMz0r you'll be alright, but I would suggest seeing your doctor if you're awake for over a week. Ask for some sleeping pills, I didn't do that until it was very late into my insomnia episode and I suffered needlessly. I'm an extreme case because I've always had issues with sleep since I was a kid, long before the weed, so you might not have as rough an experience if you're lucky.

    One thing you touched on that is rarely mentioned here is the adrenaline from smoking before bed, and waking up in the middle of the night with energy. I have relapsed on marijuana more times than I can count, and when I become chronic again, I wake up in the middle of the night. I crave a bong hit at about 3-4 in the morning, and then I fall back asleep to wake up a few hours later. If I don't get a bong hit at 3 or 4 in the morning, I can't sleep for the remainder of the night. Is this common for anyone? Because none of my stoner buddies do this, and find it kind of odd behavior.

      @icyrecipe 2 года назад

      @@danjoyce6910 the less you think about it the better. First of all - I’m proud of you, it’s not an easy step. But the hardest part is over, the steps I took to proper sleep didn’t take full effect until after the 5th sleep. You must keep yourself properly busy both mentally and physically, with the mindset of draining yourself so you sleep easier. I’ve been doing this, eating around 5/6pm nothing before bed. Making some chamomile tea with ginger honey and lemon, then taking a shower or bath of choice. Steam out your toxins and then get into bed, at this point I don’t look at my phone if I can avoid it. I sleep on my left side and when my thoughts take time to quiet down. I think greatly that the feelings you’re experiencing are caused by the amazing choice you made to be sober and free from nicotine. I remind myself these feelings will pass and it’s temporary - I tell myself I’ll sleep again. Think of how much the benefits of a happier healthier life away from nicotine, seriously outweigh the negatives of continuing your old habits. Repetition of these steps becomes new habit and before you know it you’ll sleep 6-9 hours maybe longer :) I believe in you!

    Doctor, I did THC for 17 years and finally quit 2 weeks ago and keep waking up after 4-5 hours. Bought melatonin and wake up early. Do you know how much longer this is going to last?

      @@MertzAndreas Almost 2 months clean and still feel groggy but it's slowly getting better. I was a heavy smoker for 17 years--doing weed flower, resin, and vaping. My body is paying the price but it's worth enduring because it'll be better eventually. Much better.

      @@lPHOTONl That's crazy. Didn't think it would take that long for your brain to reverse. Good that you're still going strong! Guess im lucky to understand that smoking is no longer something for me at the age of 20. I gotta beat this!

      @@MertzAndreas quite true! You've got a whole lot of years ahead of you! Being healthy is the most loving thing you can do for yourself. Being healthy is the original high, the original feel good, and it's truly a priceless experience.

    These are your TOP tips? Slept much more soundly and better with weed. Fact. Didn’t wake up tired at all. Fact. Slept through the night without waking up while smoking weed. Fact. Had a better day because I was able to sleep better with weed. Fact. Literally everything about sleep was better with weed.
