Hey there,
In this video I take a look at Alien tape. This review focuses on how Alien Tape works on painted surfaces. I try it on painted brick, painted wood, and drywall. Alien Tape can be purchased at your local as seen on TV retailer for around $20. Check out this review to see how Alien Tape works on painted walls.

As always have a great day!
Thank you for your review, Jeff!
I just opened the box of alien tape I bought at Walmart today and then search RUclips for some reviews. I watched your video for a while. Then I opened the instruction box that is included inside the primary box and saw that it says the following:
“suitable services: wood, marble, leather, smooth and frosted glass, smooth tile, and plastic surfaces.“ And then in all caps it says, “If using on sheetrock and painted surfaces, application will be permanent. Removing the alien tape may cause paint to peel or leave residue.“
There you go.
Also, it clearly says to clean the surface prior to application and to make sure that the surface is flat (hence, no textured surfaces).
I’m going to give it a try now!
Thank you for making these points clear as supplied by the manufacturer not the infomercial "For TV" sales gimmicks.
But but the advert said "On Any Surface" so ... *shifty eyes* someone at alien tape is confused.
Sadly, many products are misleading on the infomercial. Thanks for sharing.
We absolutely love Alien Tape! I use it for pictures, hanging fan remotes, holding rugs in place, 4ft Christmas stars on the windows outside (very windy in NM), Wreaths on the door, etc and have never had 1 issue. Works just as advertised!
These are all great, reasonable, uses for Alien Tape. Thanks for sharing - Have a great day and stay safe!
Did you use it on painted walls for the fan remotes and pictures?
Thanks Jeff for getting back to me so fast! Great video, you answered all my questions on this tape. I have subscribed to your channel... looking forward to seeing more of your reviews!
I appreciate the support! Have a great day and stay safe.
Loving this channel. Thank you for doing the work for me.
You just saved me $20. ✌️
Happy to help! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Thanks for your presentation. Wish I had seen it BEFORE I put up my framed certificates. A couple didn't last a week so decided to take them all down and put them on a separate piece of wood. Well, trying to take the tape off a painted wall tore the paint off as it did in your video. I believe the product is good but wisdom as to what type of surface is so important. I will continue to use it for other situations but it won't be on a drywall!
You have a positive attitude it definitely helped my day out😀
Thanks for your kind words. Have a great day and stay safe!
Thank you! This is exactly the information I was looking for before I use the stuff on my walls and ears is the only video I can find on all of RUclips that shows removing it from different painted surfaces
Happy to help! I also found using a hair dryer to heat the tape before removal can help minimize damage. Thanks for stopping by and commenting 👍
Good job Dude! Thanks for showing different scenarios; for example, brick, drywall, 2 different kinds of paint on drywall, etc.
Absolutely! Thanks for commenting.
Thanks for taking another crack at if Jeff. I was really cheering for those weights to hold 😀🤙
Absolutely, thanks for checking it out.
Thank you for this review! I think I will save myself the $20.
Happy to help. Thanks for stopping by and commenting 👍
Good review, very helpful. I bought some awhile back and haven't used it very much because I saw the warning about painted surfaces peeling. I'm really disappointed because my house inside and out, is painted. I wanted to hang pictures throughout the house without putting nail holes in my newly painted rooms and outside I wanted to hang a "Porch Rules" plaque, but of course the outside is painted too. I wanted to hang strings of Christmas lights around the windows, inside and out, but won't do that. I imagine I'll find some things to use it for eventually but I'm not really happy with my purchase for the things I wanted it for. It should give the warning about using it on paint on the commercials.
Thanks Jeff.. very informative
Glad you liked it! Thanks for checking it out
Used it on painted “Tuscan” faux finish textured wall (think 1950s lightly textured but not swirls ) painted w satin latex (paint job was 6 years old …fully cured paint…..realized in less than 1 hour not to use on textured surfaces and when I pulled the power strip off the paint stayed on the plaster but the plaster itself stuck to the tape….so take my advice because I actually love this stuff …..semigloss and satin paint always (best for finish ,durability and clean ability) when you paint inside your home and When Using Alien Tape ,or nano tape as the knock offs are called, NEVER USE ALIENTAPE ON TEXTURED WALLS if you even think you might one day want to remove that item!!!!!! Thanks Jeff for another great review
!
I luv you! Your videos are awesome. Thanks for the great info.
Glad you like them! Thanks for checking it out and commenting.
Thank you for this information. I want to hang stuff up in my RV but was Leary of this on a painted surface. We are using satin paint but we are painting over the wallpaper in the RV. I’m still kind of concerned about that but this info made it easier for me to know where to start. Thanks again.
I used some in my RV to hold curtains. When it got humid the tape fell off. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Thanks for the follow up!
Absolutely. Thanks for checking it out!
17.5 pound
in the commercial they put the weight on the wall
flat
you put a basket on the wall so by physics you applied more force to the top strip
anyway probably i buy some test and try it
it would be awsome with small signs
thank you for your time to make this video
This was my second review of the product, my initial review I taped it directly to the refrigerator. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Exactly... The size of the basket adds leverage, making it actually "heavier" at the top.
Thanks for this review
Absolutely! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Thanks for the review.
Absolutely. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
It does state to hold it on for a while, when you put it up. Thank you for your reviews .
It's hit or miss with this stuff. That being said, it's amazing on glass. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Tysm for this
Absolutely! Thanks for checking it out and commenting.
I think that I might actually get this to replace the backing that I use for Command hooks, as that sometimes fails when the hooks are used to hang things like jackets or my kids' backpacks. That and smaller items around my desk would be great.
Good Morning JEFF, have a Nice Day !
Good morning. Hope you have a great day.
I love nano tape! I heard your supposed to heat the tape before removing it. Lol
Thanks - was going to buy it but mine are the type of walls / paint where the tape pulls off the paint. Great job challenging the ad. Also good straight forward informative style. Will look for more reviews. Where were you when I bought that Chicken Rotisserie from Ron Popeil.
haha, good ole Ron. I appreciate your kind words. have a great day and stay safe.
Surprise for vic, I'm going to get some of this because I want to put up a couple of small pictures on painted drywall.... w/o making holes in the wall. So I do have a use for it. :) Thanks for doing this review.
Small paintings are perfect for this item, just expect it may pull off paint if you take it down. Thanks for checking it out. Have a great day and stay safe.
Command Hooks are better.
I am a fan of command hooks!
@@Jeffreviews4u I don't know what that is, do you have a review?
@Sue G - no, but that could be arranged!
So I used alien tape to install wall tapestries.. my question.. I am now moving and removing the tapestries from the wall.. 2 walls are on wood paneling and 1 is on painted drywall. It's been up for a few months and I can peel the tapestry loose from the tape but the tape itself is stuck to the wall. How do you remove the tape? It seems to just break into small pieces.. any ideas or suggestions? What about the drywall?
Wish I had seen your review before I hung several light-weight canvas pictures on a painted dry wall. Some of the pictures fell off in about 2 weeks. A few others are still in place. However, when I tried to remove them, the paint came off with a bit of the drywall as well. I think you're right. It must have something to do with the type of paint. The wall was painted with 2 coats of Sherwin Williams flat paint.
That happened to me too!
It has a warning in the description to not use it on flat paint. Also textured surfaces.🙄 I was about to purchase some but I don’t know now.
I was wondering about the painted wall. Mine are satin finish paint. Thanks Jeff!
painted surfaces had mixed results. Not sure if it depends on style of paint, but the flat paint did terrible. Thanks for checking out the video.
The more sheen of the paint the better up to a point it won't even stick
Thanks Jeff
You're must welcome! Thanks for checking it out.
On the surfaces that are cold to the touch, maybe if you use a hair dryer to warm it up so it sticks better. On the subject of getting it off safely how would a hair dryer be to get the tape warm to remove without taking pain off ? I'm gonna try it my self also. I'd love to see your reviews on warming it up also PLEASE.
Thank you for this review - just painted my walls and ready to mount photos of the family. Hubby discovered Alien Tape at our local Menard's. I wont be buying since it failed the latex wall paint test. LOL My remodel has me spackling, painting A LOT as it is...why prolong the torture when I go to sell my home.
OH! I subscribed to your page too.
I have recently found that heat is the kryptonite of this tape. Maybe a hair dryer would help remove without damaging walls. All I know is on my walls with flat paint it tore it off. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I appreciate the subscription!
Much better review their Jeff thank you
Glad you liked it. Thanks for the support.
I still love it. ^_^ just need to hold fabric and metal and wood. So... can't wait.
Thats a good idea. Thanks for sharing.
I think the adhesion of the tape to the flat paint only meant that the adhesion of the tape to the paint was stronger than the adhesion of the paint to the drywall.
that sounds like it makes sense...no good for the drywall - haha.
what's the result of this? Am I in danger of imploding myself or my spouse? Maybe just her?
Hi Jeff. Thanks for the video ... What do you think about putting the tape between a chair protector and the bottom of the chair to hold it in place. My little pads are always coming off.
That could be a good use. I use it to temporarily hold an item while I screw it in...It is like having a second set of hands. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I used alien tape with two small panels that I painted, both together weighing close to nothing yet both paintings fell off the wall taking the plaster with it. I know have to repair the two holes. And it doesn't work on glass either! I put a vynil Halloween decoration on the window and it kept fling off the window.
Using a hair dryer or ice will help release to reduce the chance of taking off paint. It works because the nano tape has no solvent to adhere but micro-finger grips like a gecko. The only thing is how do you get heat to the tape if you have something mounted on top of it, it's a good video to tryout haha. The paint removal/wall damage is the biggest concern folks have. If you want a roll of it cheaper than 3x$20, it can be found on amazon for much cheaper if you go for generic nano tape rather than this branded nano tape.
Thanks for the tips for removing the tape. Also be careful with the nano tape on amazon...although it is probably the same stuff make sure you are getting the length you want. These are 10 ft rolls. I've seen them in all sorts of sizes. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I think it's weird that none of the tapes on amazon tell you to twist to remove. If they were the same, wouldn't removal be similar also?
You should try using Alien Tape on the cell phone mounts as a replacement adhesive for
the adhesive that comes with the cell phone mounts for cars. The adhesive on those is always sub-par, meaning you are stuck with a cell phone mount that is perfectly good but useless because it won't adhere to the dashboard. I enjoyed your Alien Tape review.
That was a good comparison you did with Alien Tape to Nano Tape.
I did it and when I took it off it ripped through the facing. How do I get it off without tearing
This could be staged but for some reason I trust you...Not as versatile as advertised but I think we would have some uses for it around the house...good to know about the paint dynamic too, thanks
Hahaha. This is all real life. The tape is ok, just be careful on painted surfaces.
I’m so nervous…I used alien tape to put up a poster on flat painted dry wall😲
How the heck do I get it off?!!! I can’t use that twist off method on paper. Help!!!
Just wondering how old your paint was and what types of paints were on each surface. Not how old the paint was in the cans 😁. But how long ago the walls and exterior surfaces were painted because newly painted walls will peel easier with anything. For example, I purchased adhesive backsplash tiles and the instructions said you had to wait 3 months after painting before you can use them. What were the timeframes of the surfaces you used with regards to paint curing times?. Especially the exterior painted wood - what types of paint was on these surfaces ex. oil based vs latex.
The green paint was relatively new...within 6 months or so. The white paint was pretty old, at least 5 years (that's how long I've owned this house). I found that the satin paint worked better for peeling the tape off as compared to the flat. I will say since this review I have found that heat is the enemy of the nano tape....a hair dryer will surely take off the tape. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Yeah they don't tell you this in the As Seen On TV commercial but it will not work on flat finish paint it's better for satin semi-gloss or gloss because if you put it on a flat based paint it will destroy the paint job the best way to get this off a take a hairdryer on a low setting and warm it up
Right on the package it says NOT to use it on flat painted surfaces.
It sure does. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
My pictures were up for a couple of months and it wrecked my wall/paint. 🙁 Maybe I used too much. I will try the twist method for the second picture.
How'd it go using the twist method? You can also use a hairdryer to loosen the tape. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Curious... I'm looking for something that will hold a vase or lamp onto a table if my cats run into the table or go crashing into item itself. Hoping the Alien Tape can secure an item to a table. Can you throw pillows at a cheap vase and the table so I can see if the item would go flying off the table? I need something like museum wax. Cat tornadoes. Thanks.
Lol. I taped bottles to a table and it held pretty strong. I'm not sure if it would survive a cat attack but it was difficult to knock over. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Thanks love lol ❤🙏🏽
Absolutely! thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Looks like it might be good to temporarily hold multiple things together, like nuts and washers, so you can assemble them in tight spaces. I've used Superglue to do that. Looks like it'll do a good permanent job with glass and plastic [very smooth] surfaces. I have great success with Command strips on painted paneling. My pictures/photos are still good after 2 years!
Have you removed any of it yet to see if it damaged the paint?
I used it to put up a magnetic strip for my knives. It is solid as a rock after 2 or so months and it is on a painted wall
Have you tried to take the tape down yet…to see if the paint comes off?
Very cool! Thanks for sharing.
@@gaylapittman4388 I have not since it’s holding my knives. I will be painting my kitchen in a couple of months. I will let you know what happens
I love the tape it's held my framed photos very well. However, now I'm trying to get it off the wall and the wall and I'm having difficulty. Help!
I've had success removing the tape either by twisting the item or using a hairdryer. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. 👍
yep, I used this tape on walls and after a month or more it hardens and is almost impossible to get off - ripped off my paint like the flat finish you demonstrated...
I have had trouble getting it off of walls as well. That being said, head and humidity are the kryptonite of alien tape...try a hair dryer.
@@Jeffreviews4u // how do I use the hair dryer under the item that's on the wall with Alien Tape. I just feel like I need to be prepared to not only repair my wall, but repaint it. I used 3 strips on the back of a tile like plaque. It's stuck. Helllp!!!!!
@@Donna-vh5ym I have twisted an item, which broke the seal leaving the tape still on the wall.
@@Jeffreviews4u // thank you. I finally got it off. I had to take a knife and get behind it until it came loose after a long time. Man, that stuff is strong. 💪....
Terrible ripped the paint off my walls now I have to repaint
Hi Jeff. So we know it won't hold 17 lbs. But have to tested it by reducing the weight and seeing what it will hold?
I've tried a variety of things and haven't had a lot of success. I've found out that humidity and heat aren't the friend of alien tape. It just falls off. I've had the best experience on glass. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Will it stick to photo paper?
thanks again i know it will hold some keys and stick a rug down to my floor.
Thanks for checking it out, I think it will work great on a rug.
@@Jeffreviews4u wouldn't buy it
Tape stretches snd releases from surfaces when pulled. Will need to extend enough tape outside in an inconspicuous spot for pulling to release.
Thanks for the tip! have a great day and stay safe.
Can you tell me how to get it off my floors? I used it to keep my carpet in. Place, when I pulled the carpet up to clean my floors it torn the rug and left the alien tape
Heat and humidity are the kryptonite of alien tape. Try a hair dryer to get the tape warm and see if that works.
Peep at the football helmet on the dresser behind you... GO BILLS!! 💙❤️
Oh yeah - GO Bills!
are you using the original stuff which is pretty thick? I used some to hold a non sticky privacy plastic film on half a window. I could not remove it easily at all. Was I supposed to use water to get it off? I tried prying it off with my hands multiple timesand I was really not expecting the trouble at all. Plus for me it is too thick to put on a laminate floor with a runner or area rugl. In my experience, I’d never get it off.
Yes this is the original stuff. If you're able twisting the item will help release the tape. Getting the tape warm with a hair dryer also helps. Thanks for stopping by and commenting
Need test on wall paper and leave up for a year on outside wall ( like in an RV )to see if heat from the sun would weaken, most people don't put up items to remove soon
I'll do you one better. I just used it to mount curtain rods in my RV....2 days later they fell. The heat got to the tape. I have had pictures up in my house for months....sadly didnt work so well in the RV.
Can you try it on textured plaster painted walls.
I bought this but it says it is to block drafts and air leaks. I can appreciate the service you're providing others , It wasn't my style of video because I was bored to tears and found myself skipping ahead.. Could be my ADD . IDK I'm not even to the end yet.
Lol. Thanks for the feedback. Have a great day and stay safe
Interesting the video on the site says 17.5 on most surfaces, however, in a description on the site says any surface. I am curious as with Command strips each strip is rated to hold a certain amount of weight, does the alien tape have similar notation? I have actually re-used a Velcro command strip one once for testing purposes and it's still holding up been over a week now. I hung a laptop batter as it was the only useful lying around that I didn't care about and its stuck to textured wall painted. Also, with command strips it says to press and hold for x amount of seconds does Alien tape have the same recommendation? As I have seen in most video's people just stick it and leave it or hold it for a few seconds and leave it.
Thanks for the video
Alien tape says to hold for 15-30 seconds. It holds pretty well in most circumstances. I would say it's not reusable. I used it to hold a hook in the bathroom for towels and it is still holding almost a year later.
@@Jeffreviews4u But the commercial says it is reuseable.
Will it work on painteddrywall without damaging the wall hen removed?
I've tried a few things that have worked: (1) use a hair dryer to heat the tape before removal, (2) twist the tape to release it, & (3) pull/stretch the tape like a command strip (this sometimes works). Hope this helps. Thanks for stopping by and commenting 👍
Do the instructions for the removal of an item, tell you to twist the stuck item then lift it off?
Yes; you twist it and it should release.
Hi, Jeff...I still think I will pass on the Allen Tape...I just can't seem to really see much use for it...As always, thanks for the review...
Haha. Thanks for the continued support. Have a great day.
I can think of a ton of things but on glass, metal and wood type surfaces. If you wanted to put something up to skew it in, it holds it in place hands free while skewing it in. To hold things on a surface in an RV so it won't fall when you are moving or acrylic shower where space is limited.
I really want someone to try this stuff with angle brackets. Instead of the shelf causing a lever peeling force, the weight would press inward on the angle bracket on another piece of tape. Could be much stronger.
Unfortunately I didnt read everything just went off the infomercials I seen for it and it damaged my walls when I was trying to remove it. Ill stick with command strips from now on lol
ruined my painted drywall in the bedroom. Have two large strips that I cannot remove from flat paint in the living room. Also used on splash around my stove and it works pretty well but when it gets warm the tile object taped to the wall slips. On the whole don’t recommend for heavy job and never on painted walls.
Hey this is my first time checking out your channel and really good stuff. Ok my question is can you try the tape for hanging shelves that will hold action figures (and if you do a vid with action figures don’t you dare say dolls) 😅 but stuff if that nature action figures, models, small statues that are of the comic/video game world. There are figures that I’ve been collecting that are a bit high price but are pretty durable as well as heavy from a company called joytoy and they are all from Warhammer 40K. Like I said they are durable but since they are somewhat heavy, damage can be done from a high fall. I’ve so far have dropped a few of them from about 3 to 4 feet and they haven’t been damage but still wouldn’t want to keep risking it. Also want to see if it would be ok to use on the figures themselves like on the feet to keep them in place. If not all good I’ll still stayed subbed to your channel and I’ll keep researching to see what could work for said items. 🤘😁🖤
It took off the paint and the paper on my wall. Not happy about that. Works great everywhere else for me.
How do you remove this stuff?
I have a AC powerstrip on the side of an Ikea nightstand which worked great. But now I am getting ready to move and I cant get them damn powerstrip off the furniture!
Heat gun? Water?
I've had success with a hair dryer or twist it. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
It would be nice to know what weight limit the stuff actually WILL hold indefinitely.
it really varies...I put up a curtain rod in the camper and it fell from the heat...thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Keys and light office supplies might stay up until needed again. Stuff you normally store in a cupboard might need further review.
Have you tried using heat gun or hair blow dryer to remove it without the paint coming off?
I have not...that being said heat/humidity does remove the tape. I used some to hold curtain rods in my camper and a few days with the AC off and they fell. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
@@Jeffreviews4u Cool. In that case, steamer would be more effective then. Thank you!
How would this do to hold a popsocket or iRing to a phone case?
Initially it would probably hold but it would come off after time.
Seeing your video about Alien tape on a painted wall, well I am now wondering if I should use it to hang my Paintings, Canvasses. I have not framed the paintings so they are not heavy, but there will be a time when I may want to replace some paintings and fix others. Oh, HELP What should I do? I really would not like to ruin my walls or even think of painting as our home's new! Any thoughts? I know what answer I would give! if asked Do not use it!! HA! Ha!
You might be better off using the velcro command strips. I've had good success with them.
I never got the chance to twist it off. The full length mirror fell off the wall! The tape was left behind and doesn't come off.
That's terrible!
Hi, how do you remove This tape off of a FLAT painted drywall surface?
I've done it a couple of ways. Stretch it like a command strip, twist it, use a hair dryer to heat the tape. Thanks for stopping by and commenting 👍
How in the poop do you remove it from the floor without tearing it
I am still trying to find someone online to answer if Alien or Nano brand tapes will damage the plastic type wall covering that is use on RV walls and can find no comments. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has used it on RV walls
Love alien tape. Trying to figure out how to remove safely
I've heard a hair dryer helps.
Thank you! New Sub 😊 BTW I haven't found alien tape to live up to the TV ads. pretty disappointed. I wouldn't buy it again
did you account for the weight of the box when you said 17.5 pounds?
That's why I put on more tape than necessary. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
What about a textured wall?
I bought it to keep rugs from sliding around. I found it didn't work when there are dogs in the house ... any suggestions?
there were no directions in the package.
I bought a material to put under my rug that is tacky and holds my rug to a rug which is usually a hard surface and it works.
Have you considered getting rid of the dogs?
I use double sided rug tape. It is much thinner and works very well.
@Parishna - lol
@Dee - thanks for the tip.
They say to hold it tightly against the wall for twenty seconds. Not 3 to 5 seconds. Lol
Does this tape work on fabric. Tapping fabric to a table.
I don't see why it wouldn't work. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
In another review, the guy used it to stick rugs to his kitchen floor, and it worked. But when he removed it, it took the base of the rug with it.
You put 17.5 pounds of weights in the box but - how much does the original wooden box weigh? It should be included in the total weight.
wondering about stained wood?
It should stick if the wood is prepped correctly but you always run the risk of taking of some of the stain once removed.
HI JEFF, HOW DO THE TAPE WORK ON CARPET AND THROW RUGS?
I've heard others use it for carpets and had great success. It makes sense to me that it would work. That being said the tape is a little thicker than most carpet tape.
@@Jeffreviews4u THANKS JEFF, LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE MORE INFORMATION ON IT. JEFF I NEED TAPE TO SICK AND STAY ON CARPET ON CARPET? I HAVE THIS BIG CENTER RUG THAT KEEPS MOVING IT IS LAYING ON TOP OF MY WALLTO WALL CARPET, WHEN I USE VELCO TO HOLD IT IN PLACE ON THE CARPET,IT HOLDS FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS THEN IT START MOVE AWAY! CAN YOU HELP ME? PLEASE!
Probably matters how old the paint is as well.
Used it in our store to put small tile samples on walls. It let go, tiles fell and broke. Tried again with more tape on back and same thing. The longest one that stayed put was 2 months. Clean painted walls-no damage to walls. Would not buy or recommend.
In my opinion this tape works pretty good on light weight items, not for things that have any weight. I have had success holding a picture to the wall but I ended up putting the tape all around the inside edge... that's all hanging a year later... however it used a lot of tape!
This is a good product but what they do not tell you on the infomercial is that this will destroy a painted wall that has a flat or eggshell paint on it the best way to remove this is to take a hairdryer and warm it up and slowly peel it off while you're using the hair dryer
There’s actually a good wat to remove it without just yanking it off, heat lol! Like this1 guy used blow dryer n it come off without chipping paint, plus he didn’t just yank it, he did it slowly…
What about trying with a heavy picture or mirror
I wouldn't try anything very heavy. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I tried it on a 15lbs mirror , would not recommend, it fell within 30 minutes
It clearly states in the instructions to press firmly for 15 seconds.
This is correct. Thanks for stopping by and commenting
Maybe i missed it on the other review but my question is or comment . They say that the alien tape can be washed and reused with the same results. Have you tried this and did it work well for you?
This review was the 2nd one, I did try to use it after being washed. It did stick the 2nd time but not nearly as well as it did the first time. Hope this helps. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
You didn't show if you cleaned the surface before applying. ?? You didn't let the wooden holder "set" to the wall before piling in the weight.
you're right, make sure the surface is clean prior to using the tape and apply pressure for 30 seconds. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
In the directions it states to apply the tape across all of the edges the object that you are hanging and to press for 15-30 seconds. I noticed you did not do that. Maybe the 17 pounds would've held if the directions were followed? I'm not trying to be rude! I really enjoyed your video! 🙂
Given the intended audience for this product, I don't see old ladies doing that either, and ripping the paint off their walls. if they were more honest about it in the advertisements, then I'd be more forgiving, but this is clickbait scamming.
You're supposed to heat it with a hairdryer before pulling it off.. I guess you wouldnt be able to get the hair dryer behind that plack
that's true, it would be hard to use a hair dryer on something behind a frame. Thanks for the tip though!
So in the end a dab of hot glue will hold better than this and has the same side effect might remove paint.... or not
Lol. In some applications this may hold more than hot glue.
