This may be the single most valuable bit of information an artist can learn. Thank you Mr. Carey.

Just researched 'friendship/benefitor levels at regional museums, and found what i was looking for! They're much more expensive (500/1000/5000euros) but give great benefits! Thank you for your tips😊

Museums that show work in my niche are few and far between but I did make it to one opening in a far city. Even without being a member, the curator welcomed me and introduced me around. Handed out lots of cards and did a follow-up with acquisitions. It was more pleasant than I expected.

It was nice to hear someone voice this. I started only going to higher cost functions a while ago and was worried it was being elitist.

This is fantastic advice! Thank you! Practical and local, great for a sculptor like me with work that’s a little more difficult to ship.

This is so incredibly useful. The top-tier memberships seem to have increased 7-fold, but this seems to be well-worth the investment. Thank you!

Thank youuuu, keep them coming. There’s always something to add to this topic and it will never get old. Also, new suggestion: tell us stories about other artists whether it’s a success story or just a funny one.

Good idea I would rather meet artists in person this way and establish relationships rather than through brokers, gallery salespeople when you can Etc... I would just add that if you do this it may be advantageous to choose if you have a choice a museum of arts as close to your own style whether Realism, Expressionism, Impressionism, Avant-Garde Etc... this is just my opinion as a collector and art researcher of 20+ years.
