    Another one nailed. Vibrant feeling without coming off too strong color-wise. I grew up in West Milford (Jersey Highlands) L.I. and spent a lot of time in NYC growing up. You’re paintings feel Ike home.

    There is a spontaneity and raw approach to the way you paint. paint is applied quickly and rhythmically with short sharp strokes. Your paintings are unrefined, abstract and dare I say brutal, reminding me of the base colours and intense brushstrokes describing a strong personality seen in any Van Gogh painting , but this is the character and technique that gives your paintings the charm and captivation that pulls the viewer into you paintings . When I squint my eyes to focus on your paintings and filter out the rough shapes and edges, your paintings come to life and I can almost hear the life and activity of New York, and that's when I realise I am looking at the work of a genius.

      @@WoodieWebber you are most welcome. To enjoy one’s work is play. What intrigues me about you is how you observe, what catches your eye, your sense of framing, and your easy confidence bolstered by your well-packed gear. The ‘impressionist’ challenge is the virtuosic swiftness of execution required to capture those spectacular effects of the Sun’s play which never cease changing, defying capture, chimerical. Thank you for getting back to me - I feel honoured you took the time.🙏🍀

    I like it when you said, "it is a feeling rather than a moment".
    Lovely tertiary colours, and perfect values. I liked the buildings and play of light being the key focal points to the painting, rather than the snowy sidewalk.
    Very Brave ...were your feet or hands cold? Was it windy, and so the cold going right through you? layers, a windstopper outer shell, bamboo socks? Perhaps you were in the zone, to not feel it?
    Cold definitely stops me, confines me to one room, when I lived in Goulburn, it got to -5 degrees Celsius some days, with a few snowy days every year. 2.5 hrs south west of Sydney, in the plateaus and high flatter lands.

    Dragging all the equipment, the changing light conditions, cold, hot weather, insects, no bathroom, etc. That's why I don't do plain air painting. I prefer doing quick sketches with pastels or watercolors to complement the photos.

    I have the same pochade box that you have, do you have trouble with your tripods breaking? I’ve had 2 break on me. I’ve also noticed in your later videos that your using a French easel, did you not like the sienna as much? Or was it because you wanted to work on a larger canvas?

    • @WoodieWebber
      @WoodieWebber  2 года назад +1

      Hahaha funny you say that. The tripod actually broke as I was setting up for this video. It was my third one in two months. If you look closely I was balancing it the whole time I was out there. They can be rather delicate, especially in the cold of winter in NYC. After that, I started using a half box French easel and have really fallen in love with the simplicity of it. Also I've been working a bit lager lately. I might use a pochade box from time to time for smaller works, but the half box is now my go to. Great questions. Thanks for watching!

    Got to give you credit hauling around so much gear can give you a hernia, especially in the cold weather. Maybe you need to cut the weight down a tad since there are so many lighter options.

    He should bring a business card or offer the painting straight away with 50% upfront payment or full payment it has his own style of painting , unlike Leonardo Da Vinci I think in my opinion he do it phase by phase , payment was made before the start of the following phase. Sorry guys it only my opinion.
