Great reaction Austin! I was lucky enough to be at this gig, Wembley Stadium The Invisible Touch tour. This was the opening track. It was a truly brilliant concert, and yes Phil’s vocal performance was out of this world.
I have seen genesis about 6 times over the years this was a good one . good memories of happy days gone by . all my best to you and yours from Liverpool
The beat at the beginning is weird because it was Mike Rutherford, the guitarist, who programmed it; and he always came up with the oddest beats. One of their most famous songs was one of his that happened to be in the time signature of 13/8.
very observant in regards to beat (unique beat ) , the british clap on the down beat where as the americans react on the upbeat or viceaversa but thats why it sounds different
another song where its noticable (the uppward or down word beat ) is in the song by elton john called bennie and the jets , listen to the audiences clapping of the hands , i think we (americans) clap on the down beat where as the british clap their hands on the upbeat
I would suggest the Genesis Mama tour video (In the Cage medley in particular) from 1984 or Phil’s No Jacket Required tour video from 1985 for more awesome live Phil Collins. Or 1980 live material from the Duke tour.
Yeah Austin 👍🏻 You have so right there on Genesis and Phil Collins.. Phil Collins is a live and studio artist 100%.. but the band Genesis they need a studio to sound more pro 👍🏻 phil collins was drummer in Genesis at the 70s - 80s a very good drummer 👍🏻👁️ THX for your reaction on GENESIS ❤️🇸🇪❤️🇺🇲❤️🇸🇪❤️
Great vocal performance but for an even better one, check out the album or official video version. In the concert version, he's saving his voice for the remainder of the concert but in the album recording, he goes all out!
Creepy, true. Not about your average mother. "Too hot for me, mama.....Don't stop please, mama....It's getting so hard." Really? I want to know which guy in the band did the 'research' for this song. But the whole concert is GREAT! The next tune ABACAB rocks! Nice review, by the way.
SOME OTHER TIMES..1987 no smart phones, just sound and good fun now and here

Phil’s voice is so on key and this is before voice correction technology. Best live band ever!!

Try home by the sea and second home by the sea from the same concert. Now that is a Halloween type song.
You’re right. And watching Phil play the drums on it is absolutely amazing!!!
❤❤❤❤amo Genesis
Phil was about 35 years old in this video and Phil’s vocal performance was incredible but his voice changed over the years
Phil Collins said he got that laugh from one of the old school rap songs "Don't Push Me cause I'm close too the Edge " by Grandmaster Flash
This is such a great reaction. I love this version! Honestly I don't see this very often. Thank you so much for reacting❤️
Simply awesome. Please, react to Tonight, tonight, tonight from the same concert.
I've noticed that you've upped your game as far as analysis of the music for several months now, while keeping the humor. Great work!

*'Turn It On Again' is in both 13/8 and 4/4.*

That is one great video. It seems in a brothel and there is no question what the song is about.

Good song - nice reaction.
Nice
Hi Austin … the song is about a young guy’s dangerous obsession with a prostitute and she couldn’t care less about him ..
