Yes it was, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Jimmy Page/Robert Plant to name a few. In some respects a better line up than Live Aid.
Genesis...In the beginning there was a Garden of Eden with live music, and that music was Genesis! I have seen them live at three different venues and they were always stunningly brilliant, but for me the ultimate Genesis live performance was the final live gig, When in Rome in 2007. The night was magical, the audience was electric and loyal and loving and the music that night came from the heavens...I still become teary knowing their like will never be seen or heard again. If I had to choose one track I would choose the 'In the cage' medley that is made up of several favourites that sum up the brilliance of this group. Try it sometime, lights off and be taken away to music heaven.
Phil is easily my favorite singer and this is my favorite song. It looks like you're going down the Phil Collins rabbit hole, so you definitely have a new subscriber.
You are a true genesis and phill collins fan. Even this is not music from your generation. But it fills me with happyness to see young ones truly discover the beauty and the fantastic music from the past. A time that music where compositions and lyrics where hitting you. Keep up the good work barry. I am proud on you.
So that bit where Tony uses the modwheel on that Emulator II, and Mike essentially responds with a short guitar line- typically is called either “call and response” or Q&A where 2 instruments seemingly have a “convo”
Great to see your Phil and genesis reactions. Have to say the 80s live reactions are the best version imo. Also some great performances from Phil on Donahue and arsenio hall. 👍
I was there! Great day, very long, very drunk fantastic line-up Quo, Clapton, Tears for Fears, Dire Straits, Elton, Plant & Page, obviously Genesis here but the highlights for me were Paul McCartney's Hey Jude + 120,000 singing along & Floyd's set & laser show was out of this world Comfortably Numb= High Point, finally got home after gig about 6-7am & I only live 70 odd miles away Cheers Jim, Surrey X
I remember watching this festival on MTV that weekend back in 1990. It was so windy there you can see Chester's symbols flapping like flags! Great review BTW
This knebworth concert was awesome, they had alot of bands there that day, I had the vhs tape when it came out lol..

He really could belt it out since he didn't have a lot of singing to do that day. Love it when he goes for those high notes.

Another live performance for this song is 2007. I would recommend listening to that one.
Outstanding live version!
Great reaction!
This was a great band performance, Phil was singing amazingly well, I loved Mike's guitar solo too.

i love Laurie. She is great and pretty
It`s my ring tone.
I requested this a while back
You reacted to the audio version to this song
Yes I know that’s why I put review
so good but it looks strange to me to see Phil singing with Genesis with his "But seriously" hair cut...🤨
You are too young to appreciate such things.
