Thank you! I'm 56 and not tech savvy. This has been helpful. I have a new youtube channel and my son is teaching me video editing. Part of my "homework" is watching videos like this one. Thanks, again!
I recommend that everyone shift all the screen shortcuts to cmd + (3,4,5) instead of cmd + shift + (3,4,5). Also if you go into keyboard setting you can make a shortcut out of any menu item in any app.

Thanks for making this video. Helped me understand the Apple keyboard shortcut commands. I have been using Windows operating systems for 11 years and just now decided to switch over to Mac.
To me having to remember 4 keys such as fn, control, option and command buttons is too much. I come from windows background and having control and alt was already more than enough especially when used with shift key. Owh, yeah. I forgot about shift key also.
Finally switched to MacBook Air. I'm not quite sure if it's the M1 chip or the MacBook experience alone but damn this thing is fast compared to my old laptop. I had my iPad Pro with the Smart Keyboard before but I still got a bit overwhelmed with the new ecosystem. Any tips for new a new MacOS user?
and tips please on the arrow keys I'm using a 2018 MB pro and when YT is open if I try to use the arrow keys, it turn s the volume up or down and will not scroll. Thank you in advance
I want to use the shortcut to duplicate a shape but when I hit control D, it doesn't duplicate the shape. I was wondering if I need to turn the keyboard feature on before I am able to use the shortcuts? If you are able to help, I really would appreciate it. Thank you.
LOVE the video. For some reason, I can not toggle between minimal apps that are not fully open on the screen with Command Tab. It only works with Apps that are currently shown on the screen and not Minimalmize. Any Ideals.
Thanks! As a long time Windows user I find it absurd that it has two different shortcuts for switching between apps and between two windows of the same app. Also these only seem to work when the windows are not full screen.
Hi Leif, thanks for the wonderful video, really helpful for user from linux system! Do you have any suggestion if I can "ungroup" the chrome icon ( I have multiple profiles) from the dock? My os version is Sonoma 14.1. Tried google and youtube but no clues, really appreciate for any suggestions.
There is this one specific shortcut I came here looking for. On my 2015 I used to do cmd + f3 to move every window to the side to preview desktop, the same doesnot work on 2019
I am a pc and Linux user and recently bought a new mac and I feelawkward adaptting me to the new OS. Visually is more than great, and I am in love with my new Mac. And this video was very helpful Thank you!!!
Hi. This looks exactly like the MAC I just bought yesterday. How do I get the labels to stay on the page i.e. "gmail" "youtube" "upwork" etc. To save me the steps of having to go in each time. Thanks, I know this is very basic.
But how do I do it comfortably with my fingers? Happy to learn something new, but I've been using Karabiner as a crutch for 5 years because holding command with my thumb and then reaching over it with my index finger to hit "c" and "v" etc, is so awkward compared to Windows where I would just hold control with my pinky and then reach easily with my index. (Well, the top row may be easier to reach while holding command with the thumb, so there may be some trade offs at play.)
With the new M1 MacBook Air, I tried setting up a shortcut (strikethrough) >Preferences>Keyboard>App>Shortcuts. Added my own command; named it. It didn't work. So frustrating. WTF.

is there a way to expand an app to full size(ie. instead of clicking on the green button)?
Double-click the title bar, it does what do you want to do.
