I have been looking for this kind of tips & tricks and this is the only one that really helped me. it was concise and straight to the point. thank you so much.
0:18 Quick Look (click on file, press & hold spacebar) 0:56 Quit an application (cmd - q) 1:30 Emoji keyboard (ctrl - cmd - space) 2:15 Single-window screenshot (cmd - shift - 4 - space) 3:15 Trackpad "tap to click" vs. hard click (Settings --> Trackpad) 3:54 Dictionary (Hover over a word and force press with 3 fingers) 4:33 Unlock with Apple Watch (Settings --> TouchID) 5:06 Split Screen (Press and hold green button in upper-left and "Tile to Right"/"Tile to Left") 5:46 Launchpad shortcut (Pinch trackpad with 4 fingers, out-to-in) 6:28 Drag out useful Control Center elements to upper bar
When I had a pc laptop 10 years ago, tap to click was the default setting and I've always been confused why my mac wouldn't do it but it's just been a setting this whole time. I'm so happy I found this haha.
Thank you so much. As a noob Mac user I recommend everyone this video. It was a very useful video. not the big talks just straight to the main topic. Thank you again
Your channel not only had me subscribe… but also inspired me to unsubscribe from the endless others where you’re lucky to get a truly *useful* tip but just maybe once a year & 80% of tips are well known recycled nonsense. So, thank you for maintaining a wide birth from the hyperbolic. You’re crushing it. ❤
That is the first time I learned about the split screen function. It's awesome for reading/researching articles while writing in a word doc while studying.
for me: 1. for the emojis part, I like to make a little change in the settings so whenever I press FN it gives me the emoji keyboard 2. I like to do Shift CMD 5, it gives you both options 3 and 4, and if you want it to be picture or video with which mic, etc 3. Actually the lookup feature is true with 3 fingers (as you said) and not with 1 finger as you write 4. Since you talked about split screen, I think checking out the application named Magnet in the app store would be something you would like! I didn't know there was an actual split in mac so I tried to see if there were any other options and I came by this application it gives you so many options Here's some extra tip you can change the formatting of a photo let's say from PNG to JPEG just by renaming that file into the formatting you want! not only limited to photos for sure but I can for example switch from PPTX to pdf just by renaming that file :) I really loved the video! it is amazing and the space feature with the preview will definitely come in handy! thank you so much, Michael have a blessed day
I'm a social media manager so I use a LOT of different apps every day. The split screen tip, for me, is the highlight of this video. This is going to help me tremendously! Thanks so much. (also the emoji access shortcut for captions, etc)
I just recently bought my first ever Macbook Air, so am watching lots of Utube videos to help me navigate my way around it. Your video was especially helpful & I finally found out how to access the emojis, which is one tip that I’ve been on the hunt for. Thankyou, you explained everything really clearly….👍
Great! I like Shift CMD 5 for screenshots you can either hit capture on a specific area or just enter if it's the screen shot you want, and videos as well. It has more options and is quite useful.
when you pulled up the emoji tab, at 1:52, for me, I only need to press the FN "the little globe" and it opens up instantly, thanks for the tips they really helped a lot
Hi, can I ask you a question? when `i open an app, let's say "messages "a window pops up over it that offers some info and i just cant close it, it doesn't move up or down, just stays there although i know below there's an"ok`' button which could close it, but i can't get there. It happens for other apps as well. Im new to macbook so i can't figure it out by myself. Thanks in advance
I'm new to the Apple ecosystem, and I need to write down a bunch of these tips. I loved the opening up and closing of pictures by pressing down the space bar. I also like how to close out an app pressing the cmd + Q key. Thanks for the presentation. I was wondering how to save live video in case i want to play games and edit them later.
I too sat down with pen and paper to note down the shortcuts. I find it a little difficult to use split screen as everytime I click on the other side to open the next video the previous window opens up full screen.
The 4 finger pinch to go to the launchpad feels soooo awkward and funny at the same time 🤣Great tips!! P.S I finally learned how to use the emojis bar, pretty awesome! and save me a lot of time!
were you the one that says if app not opening do keyboard shortcut cause I really eed that right now and I forgot that shortcut and for some reason app
You just made my day with the tap to click! (And all of the others are great too. I had a Mac in the past but have been using Microsoft for several years and I forgot everything!)
Hi Michael, Split screen was my favorite new tip. I have a question. My iMac is two years old. When it was new I could hold down vowel keys and accents in other languages would appear above the letter, so I was able to select that letter with an accent. Recently I had some help from Apple support and they made some changes to my computer, after which the accent feature disappeared and now if I hold down a vowel key, the letter just keeps repeating instead of offering me accent options. I have called Apple twice and they can't restore the accent feature. However, here are some instruction, which unfortunately, I cannot understand. Is this something you can explain to us. I may not be the only one missing the accents option. Thanks very much.
I was so happy with this video. The tricks were great! Few tips to make it perfect. 1. Define your terms. Several words, such as force press and EMOS, or how to get that launch pad icon was missing. 2. Keep your presentation 100% non-political. You give one example in here that shows some Apple stuff that is political. I suggest keeping your presentations pure as that is not needed. Otherwise fabulous job. I like the pacing, the voice, the topics.
Thanks bro I’m about to do some big things but I didn’t use MacBook often that track pad touch is exactly what I needed she needs a battery replacement has to be plugged in but the track pad can be a bitch sometimes
Amazing Tips n Tricks, 👏🏻 I love the dictionary feature, specially when you have 2 keyboards installed, meaning in both the languages will come. In my case, I have English and Urdu (Pakistani). amazed to see the meaning of word in my national Language too.
Keep your mouse cursor on a word and press on the track pad with a little bit more pressure than you usually do. It will pop up the look up window and you will get a more strong haptic feedback than you usually get.
For apps we use regularly but wanna go and do something else, we better just hide it instead of quitting. Shortcut is command+h. Then, you can access the hidden app or windows by clicking the app icon on the dock. Or by clicking command +tab.

hello there
can you guide me how to put any app on top menubar ?
1、按住空格键直接预览文件(太有用了)
2、command+Q:彻底关闭应用
3、command+control+空格(按次序按):打开表情键盘
4、command+shift+4+
Thanks for the tips!😁
