I forgot my mouse at work today and I am used to a vertical. mouse. The track pad is much easier on my wrists for some reason and this video just made my life easier!! Thank you!
Dear Daniel.. Thank you so much… I am a first 😅 time user of Mac, and well explained.. appreciate your explanation and it is just understandable Hats off
I love your presentation. Thank you for the great tips and easy to follow instructions. I frequently spend time in the Finder, selecting hundreds of non-consecutive files/folders, and have had to start the process over when I absent-mindedly drop a finger onto the trackpad. I wish there was a key combo that you could invoke to sticky-grab the items held in the selection so I could stop stressing out over it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone with this particular gripe, but it’s plagued me for years.
8:47 - that actually IS natural scrolling, because if you think about it in terms on moving a long piece of a paper with those gestures up and down on a desk, when you move upwards, the content of the paper is going upwards too. Just like in your demo. When you were moving it upwards with your fingers, the menu was actually going UP as well, it's the scrollbar that was going downwards. The content was moving upwards.
The search terms I used to get here were "hate macbook pro trackpad." I still hate it, but this was by far the most useful trackpad tutorial I've come across. All the other ones I found focussed on just a couple of user preferences and did not walk me through what each setting actually does. I changed a bunch of settings based on your excellent demos, so, who knows, maybe I'll hate it less with time. The part that still infuriates me is how easy it is for the pad of the left hand to hit the trackpad and send your cursor away from where you're typing.
This is an excellent video. One thing to improve: zoom in on your mac screen so that we can actually READ the screen. We have no need to see the edges of your computer. You will find that people find what you are doing far more helpful if they can read your mac screen.
Wow, thank you very much! I just bought a new 2024 Macbook Pro and noticed how big they are making the trackpads these days compared to older models. I figured it would be worthwhile to make sure I understand its features before plugging in my wireless mouse right away. Thanks to your video I can appreciate why some people would prefer it over a mouse, which I didn't think was possible. I hope with practice to see things that way too some day. Thanks Daniel!
Terrific instructional video. Clear and concise. I have a 2024 MacAir and I can't use my wireless mouse with it so I am going to try to learn how to use the trackpad. This video is excellent! He has a great voice, too!
Thank you so much it do help alot.....but one thing it's not working for me is that he typed "CAR" in note and with 3 finger all the details came out......how do I enable that auto dictionary features
So there is no option, to actually set up own commands for any kind of gesture? What, for instance, I want to swipe up with four fingers and have a defined short cut be executed. Is that possible?
You are the saviour buddy.... I thought Macbook doesn't have tap gesture like windows. It made my life easy.
Thanks a lot
