Guys this is so totally AWESOME. Thank you so so much. I will grab the pdf so I can print and laminate until I learn them. You guys are awesome for us older folks new to mac.
Hey guys, as an paid Apple Developer near you (Queensbury), I commend you on all you do for Apple Products etc, and your tips and tricks that either a pro or newbie to Mac from MS might not know! Keep up the good work maybe someday I will run into you guys at the mall in CP! Be safe!
This video is AWESOME!!!!! I have been looking for videos for this and all sucked and like they said they were confusing and frustrating and I was close to quitting but then I found this video and its saved me. Thank you y’all are great!!!
I know there is a way to highlight words using the trackpad, but it seldom works for me as well as a mouse would. Now I see there's a keyboard shortcut method....much easier. Thanks
This is great. How can I toggle between two windows alongside each other, specifically Safari and Pages? This is useful when I'm making notes whilst watching a video lecture. Thanks! :D
It depends on what kind of mic! If it is a USB mic, you'll have to get a USB-A to USB-C adapter. If it's an XLR mic, you'll have to purchase a USB interface to connect to the Mac which you can then use an XLR cable to plug into the interface. -Z
Back in the 80s when I worked on a VAX machine, there was no mouse, and the keyboard shortcuts were essential for efficient editing. So, when I started using desktop PCs and MACs later in life, I was eager to learn them. I miss the option to highlight text and a shortcut that would replace what was in the clipboard with the highlighted text. Super useful when trying to rearrange text in a document. I also miss being able to add multiple things to the clipboard buffer and pull them out in reverse order. I’m surprised whenever my college students don’t know even the most common keyboard shortcuts like copy and paste or select all.
I have a recommendation for you that I use personally: it's called Flycut and it's free on the Mac App Store. (apps.apple.com/us/app/flycut-clipboard-manager/id442160987?mt=12) I'm sure there are similar programs for PC. What it does is allow you to save a history of text copied to the clipboard - I have it set to save the 20 most recent things I've cut or copied, and then instead of using Command-V to paste, you can use Shift-Command-V and then use the arrow keys to switch between things on your clipboard. It's invaluable for me. If I need to copy 2 or more things from one page and paste them in a document, I don't need to switch back and forth anymore - I just copy them all and use Flycut to paste them where I need them.
spotlight is the only reason i moved to Mac after 10 for all of my life using Windows, another reason is Trackpad, and now many more reasons come, especially my MacBook air
Sure is, but you have to turn on "Speak Selection" first. It's easy. More info here: support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/have-your-mac-speak-text-thats-on-the-screen-mh27448/mac#:~:text=Listen%20to%20spoken%20text&text=Turn%20on%20“Speak%20selection.”,the%20selected%20text%20is%20spoken.
facebook wont open on my safari browser. it says to many redirect has occured. tried clearing website data still didnt work. also make a video on what to turn off in facebook especially on privacy. thank you!
I personally find cmd-w's proximity to cmd-q to be very dangerous over the years. I wish Apple would move one or the other to the other side of the keyboard. Cmd-q is probably the better candidate given its the less used and more consequential and thus shouldn't be on the same side of the keyboard with more "everyday" commands (the left side).
You're wrong about that. Many computer users need a little dumbed-down instructions regardless of the operating system. That said, this video is over-the-top dumbed down. I'm not sure why they did it that way since it wasn't really necessary for this beginners tutorial. I like to see shortcut reminders from time to time. This whole video could have been half as long with exactly the same utility, and it would have been much less painful to watch. That said, I think the content (if you ignore the fluff for grandma) was spot-on.
You keep sending your videos to my inbox without me asking . If you continue doing I'll block you on youtube or un-subscribe I don't want to block you be I know how to find your videos , I don't need you sending them to me everyday.

As someone who has been using keyboard shortcuts for well over 25 years I still learned quite a few new ones here. Thanks guys. 👍
Outstanding. I learned a lot of them 20 years ago and picked up some new shortcuts today. Thanks for another well made video.
That's awesome! We learn new ones all the time, too!

I hear you! On the trackpad, just for reference, 2 clicks highlights the word, and 3 clicks highlights the entire paragraph.
Great information ! It must have been exhausting to make.

Well done, folks.
Great video, I have a question- what’s the best way to connect a mic to a Mac mini. I bought one recently. Thanks.

Is there a shortcut to have the computer read text that you have highlighted aloud?

Might be an issue with your date and time settings. Head to Settings → General → Date & Time and make sure Set Automatically is turned on.
This channel is so dope
I tend not to use the cmd-(1-9) to switch tabs as it limits you to only 9 tabs.
(Good on you if you spotted the joke, though I am also serious.)
We got it. 😂 I don't use it either - I always use Command-Shift-[ or ].

We've all accidentally Command-Qed something during our lifetime. Fortunately it's a mistake I've learned to avoid.
It seems that it is faster to just hit the notes icon. One and done
Is there a shortcut for sleep the Mac
option ➡, skip to next "chapter" in a youtube video
Command + z not working
This shortcuts only applies to mac keyboard, how about for different keyboards
Applies to every other windows keyboard. You just have to map the keys
