Hey, you forgot the Cotton Bowl. It had the Cowboys play in it from 1960-1971, the AFL Dallas Texans 1960-1962. It is now only used for the red river showdown and the first responders bowl
It was also used for the Dallas Stars Winter Classic game in 2020, and was the home to the Dallas Burn/ FC Dallas for years until they moved to Frisco. Now a days it is also mostly used for concerts & events surrounding the State Fair of Texas. It definitely has a great vibe still.
Honestly, FPV could make a 3 hour video on the history of American stadiums and I'd watch it. Idk how, but he makes the history of stadiums sound so cool
Both the Niners and Raiders played home games at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. The stadium had a similar history as Balboa Stadium in San Diego. It was torn down and remodeled. It is used for high school games now. There are scenes from Dirty Harry filmed at Kezar.
Point of note on Shea Stadium - the only venue to host the home games of FOUR pro-league teams in the same year. In the last year the Jets played there the Yankees and Giants also had to play there due to renovations at Yankee Stadium and the Meadowlands not yet being ready.
Thank you for mentioning Baltimore's CFL team, eventually known as the Stallions, when talking about Memorial Stadium. They were the most successful part of the CFL's ill-fated expansion into the U.S., making the Grey Cup in both seasons of their existence and winning it in 1995. They likely would've lived on if Art Modell hadn't moved the Browns to the city.
Even some of the older Maddens, like late-PS1 era, had some retro stadiums; Cleveland Municipal, the Astrodome, Tampa Stadium, the Orange Bowl and even pre-Mount Davis Oakland Coliseum are in Madden 2000 at least, although all named "Old Stadium in ___".
I’m a bit surprised you didn’t mention either the old city stadium in Green Bay (which is nowadays used for high school football) and Milwaukee County Stadium, which served as the part-time home for the Packers until the early 1990s (when they decided to play at Lambeau Field full-time).
SDCCU Stadium is being demolished, and will be replaced by a new stadium for the San Diego State Aztecs Football Program. Temporarily, they'll be playing at Dignity Health Sports Park (which is where the Chargers temporarily moved to until they moved into SoFi Stadium with the Rams)
Idk if it was on purpose, but when WWE had to make a couple of residencies at Orlando's NBA arena, Tampa Bay's MLB stadium and a college arena, they named their residence Thunderdome
Shea Stadium, the Astrodome, and to a lesser extent the Kingdome, could also be considered part of the 1970’s ‘cookie cutter’ stadium boom. They were all circular and had similar moveable seating layouts to the others. Obviously Shea Stadium has that huge section cut out for the outfield, but completing the circle was an option if the Jets decided to make it their permanent home.

A little later than that actually. The Lions last win in Wisconsin prior to 2015 I think it was, was in either 91 or 93, in Milwaukee. Ironically, they won there in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019.

13:19 After the Giants started playing at now-Oracle Park in 2000, the 49ers continued playing at Candlestick Park until Levi's Stadium opened in 2014.
Battlehawks DID play in the dome, but obviously with the pandemic things shook down. But here are hopes the dome will be active again soon. And note, Busch Stadium II was closed in 2005 actually.
I'm quite impressed with the longevity of Philadelphia's Franklin Field. I'd like to know how it's stayed open for more than a century! By the looks of it, it's aged gracefully.
College stadiums tend to last, because their standards don't make them obsolete five years after they are built like the NFL does. They just stay adequate to watch football games and that is it. They aren't bound by the corporate elite like the NFL who has to have pleasure palaces built around a football field
I remember going to opening day at the Silverdome. They played the Rams, it was raining between the 30 yard lines and they players were slipping all over the place because the roof leaked. Jimmy Hoffa got gone that day. It was so Detroit.
I remember the Silverdome opening up so people could rollerblade on the concourses. Also, all the cars in the pics aren't fans. Volkswagen used the parking lot to store it's "dieselgate" recalled cars.
Seeing all of these old stadiums makes me wish they would put classic stadiums in Madden, even as download content. It'd be fun to use the Bears in Wrigley Field, the Steelers in Three Rivers Stadium, or the Giants in Yankee Stadium.
Lions played at Tiger Stadium Boston Patriots played in Fenway Park, Harvard Stadium, Nicholls Stadium (Boston U.) and played a home game in Birmingham Alabama where Joe Namath was the visiting QB.

I like this video, but how could you forget Tiger Stadium? The Detroit Lions played there from 1938-1974 winning 3 NFL Championships (1952, 1953, 1957) and hosted 2 NFL Championships Games in 1953 and 1957. The Tigers played there from 1912-1999 and the stadium was abandoned for a decade before being torn down in 2009. Today the Detroit Police Athletic League bought the site, maintained the field, constructed The Corner Ballpark where youth, high school and college sports are played. Also condos are being built along where the outfield stands used be, it's very cool.
I am glad that I got to go to Texas Stadium two times in my lifetime. One of those times was actually the farewell season on Thanksgiving against the Seahawks.
Side-Side-Note (showing my age) I was at the game when Laimbeer and Bird got into a fight under the basket. That was one of the few sports highlights of the Silverdome's history.
I miss Giants Stadium, I saw my last NFL game there with my dad before he passed away. I get why they demolished it but they should've left a plaque or two to show where it was. The mall surrounding it is hideous, an eye sore but happy it's finally opening soon and it has a Nickelodeon theme park and indoor ski slope. The mall looks like a giant Lego building
@@FivePointsVids I have to say this reply underrlated but Old Cleveland Municipal was not the old factory of sadness. There were more wins than losses there. So what if it had those names but to gloss over the history like that is sad, man.

13:19 After the Giants started playing at now-Oracle Park in 2000, the 49ers continued playing at Candlestick Park until Levi's Stadium opened in 2014.
Missed the fact that the silver dome was dual use as three pistons played there. Also Tiger stadium was the lions home prior to the silver dome
Didn't see your post. I mentioned both of these facts myself.
What about Tiger Stadium, the lions played there for awhile.
I remember the Silverdome opening up so people could rollerblade on the concourses. Also, all the cars in the pics aren't fans. Volkswagen used the parking lot to store it's "dieselgate" recalled cars.
9:18 fun fact the sounders used to play in the kingdom in the old NASL days so the kingdom actually hold 4 professional franchise at one point
Marc Luu ....that may be, but it's up in that sh*thole Seattle, and no one gives a fvck about Seattle....
You mentioned Candlestick Park, but not Kezar Stadium at the end of Golden Gate Park, where I got my first taste of the NFL as a youth!
Busch Stadium II closed in 2005 and demolished later that year.
Pontiac Silverdome. So many childhood memories watching Barry Sanders. 😭
I really like the old chargers stadium, now SDSU's, its one of my favorite ones in NCAA 14.
Seeing all of these old stadiums makes me wish they would put classic stadiums in Madden, even as download content. It'd be fun to use the Bears in Wrigley Field, the Steelers in Three Rivers Stadium, or the Giants in Yankee Stadium.
jimbo 2346 oh my god yes!
Excellent idea
Chargers in Qualcomm
Thanks for taking the advice of the red chair at mall of America. It made me smile when I saw that
Lions played at Tiger Stadium Boston Patriots played in Fenway Park, Harvard Stadium, Nicholls Stadium (Boston U.) and played a home game in Birmingham Alabama where Joe Namath was the visiting QB.
Ravens played 2 years at Memorial Stadium! I was at the last game at memorial stadium on 12/14/1997 (my birthday)
Bro that place was in shambles by 97. 33rd street forever right?
@@bainbridge-he6xp no, process of demolition began around 1999, originally they wanted to keep the facade there but government saw it as an eye sore and a disgrace, was completed demolition by 2002
@@seanparksgaming what I meant was that the players used to say what a crap hole it was. That's all. They had to put money into it just for it to operate. It only became an "eyesore" when the city realized how much the land was worth to a developer. Prime next to John's Hopkins University real estate. I know it's an old folks home but still I'm sure it was worth alot
I was unaware that candlestick is now just an empty lot. For a field that had so much NFL history occur within it's walls, it is legitimately saddening to hear this fact.
No love for Tiger Stadium? Lions played there for many years before the Silverdome was built.
Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium wasn’t demolished until 1997, the year after the ‘06 Olympic Summer Games were hosted in Atlanta. In fact, the Braves played their final season there.
On another note,
“...a new factory of sadness...”. Well said!
'96 Olympics
@@rashaadjorden1187 I’m getting old! My credibility is in serious jeopardy. ;)
No one:
FivePoints: "Aight, Imma *casually* flame the Patriots fan base."
They built a mall where fans can now by Tom Brady's bath water.....(hahahahaha I lost it when he said that)
The place got some good pizza tho
I like this video, but how could you forget Tiger Stadium? The Detroit Lions played there from 1938-1974 winning 3 NFL Championships (1952, 1953, 1957) and hosted 2 NFL Championships Games in 1953 and 1957. The Tigers played there from 1912-1999 and the stadium was abandoned for a decade before being torn down in 2009. Today the Detroit Police Athletic League bought the site, maintained the field, constructed The Corner Ballpark where youth, high school and college sports are played. Also condos are being built along where the outfield stands used be, it's very cool.
Tiger stadium: Reggie Jackson famous all star homerun: roofer; Light homerun : Cecil fielder left roof homerun
I am glad that I got to go to Texas Stadium two times in my lifetime. One of those times was actually the farewell season on Thanksgiving against the Seahawks.
I got to go there a couple of times for numerous events, IT was a great old stadium
Another Great vid!!! One side note, the Silverdome was a dual purpose stadium as the Pistons played there prior to moving to the Palace.
I saw strahan get the sack record
Have the bonds been repaid on the stadium yet?
@@FivePointsVids I have to say this reply underrlated but Old Cleveland Municipal was not the old factory of sadness. There were more wins than losses there. The Browns were ripped off in 1995 and sucked for a long ass time but the truth is Muni had memories of the Browns championships before join the NFL and post joining the NFL. So what if it had those names but to gloss over the history like that is sad, man.
Giants Stadium:
And yet, they have the wrong city, state and team names (Jets and Giants). It should be NEW JERSEY.
But hold on, why wasn't City Stadium in Green Bay, Wisconsin featured in this video? It was home to the Packers from 1925-1956 until the team moved into Lambeau Field in 1957. It's now used by Green Bay East High School for their football program and other athletic programs.
i love how you played Hungarian Rhapsody No.5
I would have been happy with Mambo No. 5 :)
Hey bro, Negro Leagues museum is several blocks from the old Municipal Stadium site.
NLBM is at 18th/Vine. Municipal was 22nd/Brooklyn. NLBM is amazing for anyone ever in town. You have to take it in
akron/nov61972 I'm down that way a lot, so as soon as he said that I was like wait, not quite lol
DUDE. How could you talk about the Pontiac Silverdome without mentioning WrestleMania III?
Thank you for talking about Fulton County I took my son to see Falcon's games in that stadium for a good chunk of his childhood
The pistons played at the silver dome for a bit
The Vet was closed in 2003, Phillies played their final season there that year then moved to Citizens Bank Park
Slight typo, Five Points; Busch II wasn't closed in 1987, it was closed in the mid 2000's.
2005
Loved the calm music when watching the stadiums go down
I lost it when you said, “The sight where OJ Simpson murdered the single season rushing record” 😂
Me too! Brilliant!
It’s interesting seeing some of these stadiums go from small fields that could hold less than 1000 people to large arenas that could hold 20 to 70 thousand people
User deleted video-Wtf
Worth the wait like always!
Stadium Video! I had to watch..been waiting on it!
Lol San Diego High is my HS which is where the chargers used to play (Balboa Stadium), nice vid man👍🏽
Have a EDIT for you...
Busch Stadium II was open until 2006. It was demolished after the new Busch Stadium III across the street was finished, and for a year, a section of BSII was left standing as a attraction to get Cardinals fans to buy tickets to take pictures
Haha! I love it “The Stadium with a hole in the roof so that God could watch the Cowboys lose.”
Great musical choice for this video! Classy AND Peppy!
Silverdome is being replaced by an AMAZON distribution center
Your forgetting that a lot of these stadiums also host MLS and old NASL teams like Seattle Sounders,NYCFC,NY Cosmos etc
I thought most teams were playing in their old stadiums
Gawd I'm old!
I shed a tear for the Silverdome. I marched there twice in 2011 and 2012 for the Bands of America regional championships. That place was amazing. I had no idea what hallowed ground I had stepped on until it was gone Note: The Chicago Cardinals only played four games at Soldier Field during their last season in Chicago (the Bears played at Wrigley until 1970) The Cards played primarily at Normal Park (which has been demolished to make way for a residential area) and small bits of time in Wrigley and the old Comiskey I was unaware that candlestick is now just an empty lot. For a field that had so much NFL history within its walls, it is legitimately saddening to hear this fact. I always feel kinda sad when stadiums are demolished. Think about all the blood, sweat, tears, and heart that went into all the games that were played in them! Plus all the history as well just forgotten forever once every fan moves on. Those two bars on the bottom left of the open roof of Texas Stadium (19:19) were put there to support the harnesses for a famous stunt by Garth Brooks at his televised concert from the stadium in 1993 where he flew around the arena in a big harness... 2017, before my dad became ill, I was learning online about the history of the legendary Silverdome. I went there that day after the failed implosion to see the stadium for the first time. Way before I was born, my dad used to watch Barry Sanders play. In 2017, we went to Ford Field for the first time for my high school championship game. Since then, I wanted to take my dad to a Lions game, but he had pulmonary fibrosis, survived 2 lung transplants last year, and fought his final battle with chronic rejection back in June.
You missed Kezar Stadium for both the 49ers and Raiders
At 13:41 you stated that the Bills won the AFL Championship in 1966. This is incorrect. The Bills did NOT win their AFL Championship game in 1966. The Kansas City Chiefs won that game 31-7, then went on to play in the very 1st Super Bowl against the Packers. The Bills did win the 1964 AFL Championship game against the San Diego Chargers.
Bills are the only team in the New York
Bills are the Kings of New York #billsmafia
Nope the Jets and Giants
gilbert Dennis last time I checked the address of the stadium it was in New Jersey not the York
@@gilbertdennis4872 the jets and giants play in east Rutherford
Love your videos Fpv. Keep up the good work.
Thanks 👍
amazon is gonna develop the old lot of the silverdome

Veterans field closed in 2003 lol. The Phillies has to play the season there
Huh?
The fact that the Braves and Falcons only lasted 20 and 25 years in the Georgia dome and Turner field is crazy
That is so strange to me as well...both sites of Olympic History in 1996...Georgia Done was beautiful looking and Turner Field was perfect...now Turner Field is a repurposed football stadium for Georgia Tech. The new stadium for the Falcons looks strange...
@@wolfiethedog76 Georgia State plays in the ex-Turner Field, not Georgia Tech.
If MARTA had only built a spur line and station at The Ted, I really believe the Braves would still be there.
And I miss the Georgia Dome.
Although I am glad Lambeau field wasn’t on the list...
Should of included Packers’ city stadium.
Looks like he didn't do his homework.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, it wasn't "John Elway's (9:50) good luck", it was John Elway's great play. There may be youngsters on here and they should know the truth. You get it. Great video and really great humor !!
You forgot Kezar Stadium in SF, home of both the Whiners and the Raiders. It’s still there being used as a running track for the wealthy and as a place for hippies to pick their toenails.
Jared M whiners huh.... how many championships do the 49ers have 🤔🤔 ohhhh yeahhh I believe it’s five & the faders uhh three ? & how many years did it take the faders to even get to the big game yeahhh & they didn’t win at least the 49ers did get there & at least made it competitive & a close game when they went to the super bowl yeah I can also say my niners didn’t win either but they didn’t get blown out 😉
A stadium called Kezar is there, but it’s not stadium the Niners played at. It was demolished in 1989 and rebuilt as a much smaller facility. Fun fact... the killer in Dirty Harry lived at Kezar, and Harry shoots and tortures him on the playing field.
Children, children! As far as the rest of us are concerned, Both of your teams are trash now! So stop this petty bickering and get back to losing games.
Whiners and Faders LOL
I like Kezar's unique design of its seating!!!
Surprised Milwaukee County Stadium didn't make this list. Packers did play 3 home games each year there until 1995. Obviously now the Parking Lot for Miller Park.
MNsportsnut and the set for the best baseball movie EVER!
@@adamdavis4417 I'll agree 100% with that. I've seen a lot of great Baseball movies but Major League is by far my favorite.
Lol I’m going to SDCCU Stadium this weekend. To watch an Aztecs game (damn I wish I could say Chargers), but Fly Eagles Fly!
You missed Comiskey Park in Chicago, home to the Chicago Cardinals before they moved to St. Louis.
Mike Fangman I waited the whole video for comiskey, and I’m not even a Sox fan .. blasphemy.
