I have to admit this is the first time I've ever been tempted by a Rolex that isn't a sport watch. That dial looks amazing.
@James Blonde they're literally all sports watches, except the Cellini
The dial doesn’t look anything like that in real life. I have this exact watch. Not sure why the camera makes it appear dark navy blue. The official colour is “bright blue” and it is. A bright silvery blue. I actually wish it looked like this in real life.
It doesn’t...
@@Treetopflyer777 I am glad I am not the only one that thought it looked darker and solid compared to the sunburst blue.
It is a sport watch
@@Treetopflyer777 agree it looks much brighter in person and I prefer it over this muted look showing here
Made of unobtanium.
this deserves more likes :)
Not vibranium?
Very good review. I appreciate the attention to detail and lack of filler BS found on a lot of channels. Well done.
Nice but selling pre owned at 45% over MSRP.............
i have one for sale hmu
The "Down The Barrel" shot.
That dial is a nice blue.
Shameful how shameful the reseller market has become. 🙄
Really puts me off rolex
@@mohnnadmercedes8246Here in Germany i would pay between 6-8k dollars for an Oyster Perpetual 41 in blue :/ i really want one because i love the design, but almost 8k is extreme for a simple oyster
@@user-rx9ny4yo2e that is an awesome find. Congratulations!
@@itsKNR And the end of the story? You could have bought three, easily sell two of them for 12k each and keep the remaining one for free effectively. Things have become totally nuts.
@@johanneskroll1979 Sure i could. Just give me 36k for watches and im in.
Retails for $5900 but people are buying them over $7000, no thanks.
With the new caliber in this watch, how would you say its antimagnetic properties compare to the AT caliber 8900?
How are these so hard to get? I hit up every AD around my area and they can’t even provide a time frame as to when they will receive more. Thought OP’s were the one Rolex model that was relatively easy to get. And they just released last month.
Get a decent Omega instead
Yeah. Even if you have cash, you can't buy it.
Go get a Omega Aqua Terra, youl be happy you did
Why? One word: DEMAND
What color is this? Is this the blue sunburst?
For some, its their daily beater. For others, its their grail. It's unfortunate that end users get bumped by resellers, but thats life. The only way this changes, is if the demand goes down.
…and that ain’t gonna happen…
Is this colour available in 36?
Wow, Even the basic entry-level Rolex is being marked up.... Its officially gone too far.
@Lookie Here it's getting to the point where ppl are only buying these watches and flipping them the same day just so they a slightly higher chance to get the watch that actually want
@M m scamdemic
Does the new GMT Pepsi have the Rotor bearing feature also?
How did you purchase them with stickers on?
Govberg Watches appears to be a Rolex AD... not sure if watchbox is “purchasing” them as second hand pieces directly from their parent company and then reselling at a mark up or if they’re purchasing from flippers. Either way, if you want a blue watch that looks even better, the grand Seiko sbgp013 in deep blue is even better and at half the MSRP.... as long as you’re ok with the 9F movement.
@@azncaramel69 The 9F watches are just catering to a whole other group of watch enthusiasts lol. Someone who wants the Rolex and doesn't have it yet, probably wouldn't look for the 9F
@@azncaramel69 They cannot do that. Rolex will yank their dealer status if that happened.
Some "collectors" will keep their plastics on it. So when they go to flip, it holds just slightly more of a premium.
maybe the dealer believe nobody will flip an OP, an basic entry level OP !!!!
but look what we have here...crazy world
Magnificient, attractive, n mindblowing watch.
I can't help keep saying to myself. "What was wrong with 39 mm."
@M m no this is 41mm
@M m I am talking about the model. I don't know about the actual measurement. 39mm and 41mm the major differences are indices. The one shown in the model is 41mm model, not 39mm. Btw, i am saving money for that and not sure i should go for 39mm or 41mm. But i got a slim chance to get it with retail price even if i have the money now.
@@ThiHaGadgets apparently these are actually more like 39.5mm - so basically the same as the old 39
@@Valera_Scotland I just wanted to point out that the one shown here is 41mm newly released by Rolex. Yes dimensions are more less identical just that new model has some noticeable changes on dial. Cheers.
@@ThiHaGadgets hi there. Yes I know it's the new 41mm released last year. I was just talking about the size. It's not 41mm. More like 39.5mm
Love the maxi markers
I’m trying to buy this watch on a yellow dial at retail no hope bought a omega seamaster instead still hoping
Love the blue
Wow a $2k over retail on an entry level rolex...comon man this needs to be stop!
Is the blue color of the dial the same as the blue color of the Rolex Yatchmaster?
About the only Rolex I lust after, stylish but not flash every think just right and a easy link thank god.
This was a great video Tim..I wish I knew as much as you.. lol..I have the same watch about a month now..I posted a video on it but not as detailed as you..thanks for some of the history behind it.. subscribed 🙌🏾...
I can’t wait for mine I have a real order. My blue op 39 is going up for trade for a gray dial or maybe a multi watch trade. Omega speedy and a 36 mm silver dial.
rip the clueless guy who pays 30% markup for an OP
I just bought mine for 7.5k jealous trashes kids you are hahaha
What do you mean. Is this now overpriced at retail?
@@DanMorrison1 People have been flipping the OP since the new release.
@@MarioBrighenti yeah well, in Germany it costs 5.5k€, so I guess you just gave as a present a hole TIR of Radeberger to the gray market guy. Cheers
@@MarioBrighenti nah. No one will be jealous of someone who gets taken for an extra $1.6K for an over-priced watch even at retail. But, feel free to continue supporting the gray market scalpers.
What is your wrist circumference?
I think he said 16cm or 6.3 inches
Hi, what is the qrc code on the side?
@Leopard Boas amazing
What’s the price tag ?
Email tmosso@thewatchbox.com for pricing and additional details. Thanks for watching!
is it true that these have AR coating inside?
This has been mentioned in several, other reviews.
Great watch
Love my OP39 white dial!
That’s a killer watch
That reference really nailed it
What is the price ??
MSRP is ten bucks but ya can only find them on Chrono for 25 grand lol
Really cool, but does it worth one or two years in the waiting list?
No need, just buy on the secondary market like watch box and pay 40% over msrp.
That gap between the bezel and the bracelet's end links at 0:52
Bracelet is now 21mm which is always a problematic number for straps.
They should have kept the 39mm but it seems 41mm is the new case size in Rolex.
@M m really? so wheres the 41 coming from then? I was really sad when they discontinued the prev model, if this one is 39.5 then I could be happy again.
@M m I’m getting less and less sad.
I wonder where you measure to obtain the 39.5mm? And why do they advertise it as 41, kinda misleading on their part right?
So why is a datejust so much more .
K now the sledgehammer test ? Too soon ? Lol nice vid good review still cant afford a Rolex just bolex.
You are insane?? Almost $3k over list price for a time only Rolex Oyster??? I keep my old Datejust. I don't care for any Rolex!!!
Not a great blue. Not the same dazzling blue used in the Datejust. The op 39 was a terrible blue as well. Had a look at one in the AD and beside my Datejust it looked rubbish . Very dull .
They are almost identical. I have both watches posted on my page..check it out..
I have it and it’s not dull. It’s very bright. Almost a silvery blue. Actually to bright for my liking. I wish it was a dark navy blue like it appears here
Finally I got the oyster perpetual 36!! I'm very excited!!
Congrats
Watching this video again.... I now notice all the original stickers still on. They must have taken these from their Govberg inventory, pulled off one tiny sticker from somewhere inconspicuous, and then put it on sale as “preowned” for a significant mark up. While I love Tim’s eye-wateringly crazy knowledge of watches and horology.... this sort of trend with Rolexes just ain’t cool. But supply and demand.... rule of economy...
Hi Daniel - what you describe would be an easy way for Govberg to lose its dealership. Rolex knows which watches have been sold through Govberg and could easily figure out if that were going on. We would never jeopardize a multi year relationship with our most important brand over a little extra margin on a few watches. Integrity is what has kept Govberg in business for over 100 years. We are active participants in the secondary market as WatchBox, but never at the expense of sacrificing our Govberg brand relationships. Thanks for watching and allowing us the chance to provide more insight.
-Team WatchBox
I bought this identical watch at my AD. Strange- my dial seems waaaay lighter than that one. Almost a silvery-blue. Maybe it’s the camera that makes it look navy blue.
I like the watch. If I did it over I’d go 36 over the 41. The 41 wears small for a 41 but this style is better in 36. Just my opinion. And I wouldn’t pay a cent over list for it btw
@M m I find 36 fits my wrist better. A bit more subtle
Having said alllll that I wear this watch almost every day. The other rolexes have been collecting dust.
@M m I agree with you 100%. I almost bought the 369 blue op in 36.
My 36mm DJ proportions are perfect.
Good luck with your decision!
it actually measures in at 39mm, not 41mm.
I sold my 39mm long ago. This is not good by Rolex standards. The 39mm was around 5 years only.
Excelente reloj. La belleza de lo simple👍
hard to get that one
Buy it whit a credit card like everybody 😆
Rolex OP vs Omega Aqua Terra vs Grand Seiko SBGH273
Well only one will be recognized by 80% of the world population. If you don’t care, the Omega and GS are superior in every way...including price/availability.
@@michaelriera6277 I would own a GS if they weren’t so thick
@@michaelriera6277 Is that important? People recognizing your watch? Or buying quality?
Being that we are social creatures with an innate desire to be acknowledged and admired then the Crown offers some of that, and believe me that recognition is baked into the price. This took Rolex decades to achieve. Is it important to all? No and that is why we have other brands producing just as good, if not better watches at a fraction of the price.
I like how this video makes me want to buy a seamaster aqua terra even more and save a lot of money.
Thinking about the same thing...but I really love rolex....and don’t care for a date. What is making you want the AT over the OP (regardless of ability to actually purchase)
Nah....aqua terra isn’t even close
@@mshaf8543 regarding the design I prefer the OP. But the nasty game played by Rolex shortening the releases of their watches, the lack of comon sens of the buyers in the secondary market and even the retail price make me on the fence. There is a fair adequation between the retail prices of omega watches in general and the value that you get, that Rolex watches are lacking sadly. And the aqua terra is the perfect daily watch half way between an OP and a n Explorer with a 150m water resistance. This said I'm not saying never OP.
@@baldiethegreat4611 I think the AT is one of Omega's best watches and a classier option than the SMP 300
Great timepiece, but make sure you stay on top of your hand lotion game, Tim!
Lol seriously? Dude, just look at the watch not another man's hand care.
Spend less and get a Grand Seiko with a nicer dial I’d say rather than this basic model.
wise words
@@SkyNikita322 I have a 36mm Datejust 116290 but for those even more basic perpetual models would really consider the Seiko unless going for the funky new Rolex dial colours.
In Canada this watch is $6950 msrp a GS snowflake is $7300 if you can spend that little bit more it's a no brainer for the GS and it's such a better watch.
Alex Fung Impossible to get the Rolex now in a shop at recommended retail price.
@@LordLauderdale yeah it's tough. I'm on a waiting list for a airking, it's been 2 months. I'm second on the list. I've got a decent relationship with this AD so we'll see......
Why oh why...does Rolex not want to sort out it's supply issues. They don't get any money from the massive mark-ups the AD's put our way. Rip off through and through. They're in danger of destroying the brand for an entire generation of buyers.
I hope to buy two for my parents before they die
For what it’s worth my AD never marks up retail price.
Hi! AD’s are not allowed to charge over retail price or they will lose their dealership. Watches being sold above retail are Pre-owned.
Sorry, I thought people were talking about the ADs, my bad.
@@wtm277 forgiven
nice watch
nice channel!
Thanks for watching!
I generally don't like blue dials
Damn
I have 15.8 cm wrist. 36 or 41 I cant decide. help me out here
36 ! Will be more elegant
Either 36 or 39. Never 41.
36
36
41 for OP, day date, datejust is ridiculous, go with 36
$$$ ???
No glide lock - no deal.
....because the easy link adjustment is so hard.
Really cant stand the double batons! If only they made them single batons like the discontinued OP39.
What's the point in posting this you won't be able to buy it be put in a waiting then pay over the odds on the gray market people should boycott Rolex until they start supplying watches where you can buy on at an ad at any time but they won't do this because that would affect the brands value
i have one for sale hmu
I can never get over the fact that Rolex can't get the Crown on their winders to point up to the 3oclock position when screwed down. It is so amateurish.
If it left the factory with the crown lining up perfectly, then after a while, when the gasket gets compressed, it won't line up anyway.
@@Richie_P When i bought my Submariner back in 1987, the Crown was on the piss Pointing down to the 6 o'clock position. Nearly 34 years later, ( It is still in that same position )
Well it was the first Rolex sports watch, but it was not the first sports watch.
Be a flipper or a flopper
Rolex market is beyond ridiculous now. Bought my 36 OP white dial for 10% off MSRP and paid no tax. Who in their right mind paying these prices???!!! SO MANY other great watches out there.
This video is way too jittery... its like he is nervous or just so excited. Breath my man calm down a bit.
*breathe
Thanks for this video, but just some advice -- talk a bit slower and pause more between thoughts. this was very hard to follow and listen to...
Can you slow down. Gosh. Constantly moving. Can't even look at the dial properly.
People really need to stop buying rolex
Agree. So we can buy them instead.
Imagine guys this configuration but 39 mm !!!
41 is too big ...
The 41mm model is actually 39mm in diameter.
Rolex is playing the same game with OP just as with the Daytona. An Omega Aqua Terra is a no brainer with half of the price.
Love it
If they would include day and date complications that will be perfect of course minus the out of this world price. Rolex is absolutely riding on its luck and suckers all over the world. Absurd demand that creates it.
The point is for it NOT to feature a day/date window like all the others! Simplicity at its paired down best…
Jesus how hard is it to weigh the ****ing thing?
Ridiculous price.
This is bonkers.....
the more I watch this video the more I like my seiko 5 SNXS77K1
2 Rolex, 2 broken seals, no talks about this....why
top.
Je veux une pour femme merci
Underwhelming on my wrist when I was lucky enough to try it on at my local AD. Felt generic and bland. My 2 cents anyway, to each their own.
Got a brand new Aqua Terra instead, 10 percent discount from the AD on my first watch purchase and got to pick the color! lol Amazing how that works when you buy from a company that actually appreciates its customers!
Its almost becoming embarassing to wear a Rolex
shameful markup
robot drone
It's quite nice - but its predecessor was way nicer. Oh well...
They f..cked it up with their f... 41mm case🤦🤦 the watch has lost all its class. 39mm is the magic equilibrium. If at least they could offer the possibility of getting an Explorer with blue dial 😭🙏
It’s 39 mm as the 20 other comments in this thread have stated
Love the new OP41mm. Contacted AD (Cortina Watches in Malaysia) didn't even bother to register me on the interest list(by email or phone). You must show up in person to register an interest. It's not they have the stock available anyway. If they do, I will purchase within a heart beat, but no.The approach was rather unfriendly because there is no AD at my town(and state)and I was told by Cortina to do interstate travel.Malaysia cases is 1000 plus daily and my state has less than 20 cases per day. Those with Cortina boutiques have 500plus and 200 cases DAILY and yet they want me to travel just to register a name.Is Covid a joke to them? really insensitive and ignorant.Look, as much as I want a Rolex, as much as I love a Rolex, I would not sit in an aeroplane to states that COVIDs are rampant just to register a name.I will be damned if I do! Thumbs down to Cortina watches, the worst Rolex AD in Malaysia!!and yeah, won't buy from gray market...no way
Bitter?
Quit moving the watch so much every 1 second of the video..
I can’t watch it..
♥️♥️♥️♥️
โคตรสวย
In this configuration the watch is just too dull. Well made of course and top notch quality but just too much of a plain Jane. It also looks enormous for a 41mm due to the overloaded dial. You’d be better off with a 36-39 OP at max. And don’t get me started on the double batons. Doesn’t work. If I was going for this piece it would be the insane blood orange. Or the clown yellow. Just to give the thing some stand out character.
Very ugly watch
Not the biggest fan, bang for buck not the best deal for a entry rolex....
@M m ufff The Explorer II and the Milgauss.
And you my good sir?
Oh my God, looks like a cheap watch. luckily my eyes are not bad too, forced to become a luxury watch rolex bad, poor
Super basic and Soulless.
