Big Oris fan. Six in the house between my wife and I. She has a pair of 36mm Aquis' and a 36mm Bronze Pilot Pointer date. I have an original Oris Day Date Diver (the precursor to the Aquis), an Aquis Barrier Reef, and a Pointer date. While the Aquis watches wear smaller because of the integrated bracelet, I definitely wouldn't mind trying the 39 and 41mm Aquis variants to see what they are like, but I have enough Oris' for now 😂😂.
I have this exact watch, I wear it on a 8” wrist, it seems fine. I have many other watches in 40mm and 43mm. This watch looks and feels just fine. Two other Oris watches, five Tissot’s, three Omega’s. Love the “Yoda”.
Great Video...as usual. You’re killing it with the variety of timepieces you’re bringing out to us. These wear so well and the larger sizes fully work on smaller wrists in my opinion (thanks likely to that bemoaned integrated lugs/bracelet). I have a 43.5 mm Aquis and it fits great on my 6.5 inch wrist. Melts away on wrist. Just an awesome value in luxury watches!
Yeah this video is old so I ended up doing a 41.5 MM video before this one got released and I did find the 41.5 a tad small as well so I would go with the 43.5 with my 6.5 interest as well.
Never been a fan of the case shape , but I do think it's got it's own charm. I've got a rado captain cook in the green , and both watches are a bit blingy, and similar in price, but the rado has 80 hours of power reserve , And normal lugs albeit annoying at 21mm. Although 21mm seems to be a trend in luxury Swiss watches lately , so straps should be more common in this size soon, hopefully. I think with the oris, you would just leave in on bracelet, which sometimes is a good thing, unless it's your only watch, so you might get bored with it.
As far as I know, Oris doesn't regulate their basic movements, and they consider +/- 20 to be within tolerance. That's one of the significant downsides to an Oris that's not using one of their in-house calibers. It definitely makes an argument for something like a Monta Oceanking, which for the same money is using a Sellita SW-300 that Monta regulates to I think around +/- 5. I love the unique dials that the Aquis offers, but I've never really been able to get past the kind of blocky, almost brutalist case shape, and the integrated lugs.
@@EscapementWatch The Noble is I think their best effort yet, and was the first one I liked enough to pull the trigger on. I think it easily surpasses watches like the Tag Carrera or Oris Artelier Date. Maybe not quite on the level of an Aqua-Terra, but not that far off, and it's a lot thinner and more wearable than Cal 8800 Omegas. Mainly what you're giving up is movement finishing (and brand cachet of course). It's base Sellita SW-300 with a custom rotor. That being said, Bell & Ross does the same thing in it's watches for double the money.
Yes I think if I was spending that kind of cash I'd be expecting better than +15 sec a day! I have seiko 5s doing better than that , lovely watch but that would put me off.
yea well said. Monta said they would send me a watch long ago but never did lost contact. Anyways, tudor eta's are expensive as well altho they do mod it a bit with the regulator and balance. but for some reason I'd never buy a tudor eta lol. I'd feel like i'm getting scammed. This entry luxury price teir is so hard to navigate for many as there will always be another option or 'better' in someone's mind choice.
+15 is bad, at least for me. I used to own an oris and I sold it after just 1 month because of accuracy. Tudor, although running on a selita or eta, usually runs at +-5 a day, well within cosc.
Beautiful watch. I really hope they put the new calibre 400 in the 39.5mm cases, like the bigger sizes got. I would definitely pay extra for that movement.
That dial is simply stunning matching the ceramic bezel perfectly. Once again another great review with both good points and the could do better. This is a tempting option along with the slightly larger cherry red version recently introduced. I certainly cannot justify both so would have to see the AD and see them in real life.
Hi Bro. Can you do a review of 2020 Rolex OP 36mm pink. I am in love with that watch. I am a gent. Can a gent/man , wear a pink colour watch? Why because "pink" is regarded as something that is reserved for ladies/women.
Definitely a gentleman can wear a pink watch no problem and I am requesting a 36 mm from studio 29 watches but it might be the Explorer but I do want to see a 36 op as well.
Great video mate!! I bought this same watch and i agree it wears much smaller on my 6.5 in wrist , 41.5 would be the ideal size , i guess !!! but without doubt it feels luxurious and fantastic ...
Wow...very surprised to see the beat error and accuracy...whilst maybe not regulated, youve had significantly better results with 4R35 movements on the channel before FT.. Still a beautiful watch but agree 41.5mm is the sweet spot.
Ha ha: Oris in dreadful watch website shock! What's with watch companies and terrible websites where it's impossible to search with any useful filters, crap images and too much choice? Omega, Seiko, Longines, Oris, Tudor... all poor. As for the Oris, not a fan. Subjectively, I find them blocky and too Minecraft style. A good quality case and bracelet, but I think overpriced for such a basic movement. Good value next to a Too-duh tho. As with many entry-luxury watches, the prices on these have been getting higher and higher. Nearly twice what they were a few years ago.
Longines website drives me nuts too. Kavar jewelers knows the owner so I might meet him one day and I'll probably tell him "listen... your website... come on." And then of course walk away gracefully

Love the 39mm... This is the size I would get 😍
Oris is one of my favorite brands. The green color they used here is perfect
I have the same one and wore it to work today. Such a stunner and ton of watch for the price. Definitely a great first step into the luxury realm.

Love the aquis. My brother has one and we occasionally swap my seamaster for the aquis for a week.
@Riki Perolina yeah I'm pretty lucky. I managed to get him into watches and it stuck.

Just purchased green dial today..... very excited... I got a 43.5 mm on sale! 40% it was too good to pass up!

Okay, so i bought one in the 39.5mm size. It’s running +2-4 a day! I’m lucky :)

This green Oris looks Awesome awesome to the max
It actually looks really good on your wrist. Maybe you are just used to bigger watches.
Maybe... But Im trying to buy a 38mm right now that I love how it wears on me.

Love my 39.5mm Oceanic Blue with Tungsten Bezel. I was close to choosing this one.
Love the Oris Aquis Date. I have this green one in 43.5mm on a rubber strap. The green dial and bezel is absolutely stunning.
I love that watch! My Vostok Amphibia that costs less than $100 keeps better time out of the box.
I think this is a very good size for you actually.
It definitely looks smaller in real life though
Love that watch 👍
How does this size of the Aquis wear when you compare it to a Black Bay 58?
It wears much much smaller
Love oris. Haven’t owned one yet but I will. Love there blue dials. I do agree I would go for the larger size

@@EscapementWatch "Explorer " , wow, i am presuming that it is 2021 two tone Explorer. Great sir.
I assume so
Nice watch!
What is the measurement at the lugs, and what does the bracelet taper down to at the clasp?
Can’t find this info anywhere.
39.5mm is about 46mm lug to lug. Bracelet tapers nicely to 16mm at the clasp.
Brilliant review brilliant watch 👍
Thank you kindly

Totally agree
favorite watch
also my aquis green 39.5 is almost +4~6 sec/day
i think one in this video should get maintenance...
yes its very easy to fix with a tiny turn of the screw! I would do it but its not my watch
Could you give me some information about that blue Seiko?
just a 40mm dress KX mod. I did a video on it.
@@EscapementWatch Thank you for your response. The point is, I can't buy that watch.
Basically impossible dial is hard to get
Still prefer the Tissot Gentlemen in green.

Yea usually the Sellita's do perform better. this one was a surprise for me.

Just dont like that integrated lug, can't chane strap by myself.
I’m thinking you might need to change the title to “tinier”
Nice Catch! Thanks bro
@@EscapementWatch well it caught my eye because I thought you were about to accuse an Aquis of being tinny ( cheap )
hahah no way! aquis is legend! and anything but!
too small
Tinier THAN*
