  • Wendy was a dear friend and a long-time customer. This final piece of hers was possibly the most meaningful thing I've worked on in my shop. It's a stunning art deco sideboard with curved glass. I stripped and refinished it. I hope Wendy's daughter approves.

I’m a woodworker. I’ve been working with wood for over fifty years. I’ve built furniture, cabinetry, children’s toys and countless other things. I watched your work on this piece with a critical eye. I want you to know I was expecting to see things I would have done differently and by that I mean better. How wrong I was. I can honesty say that the customer was very fortunate to have your skilled hands on their prized piece of furniture. You made that look amazing. Kudos!

@Alfred E. Neuman Yes, unfortunately, restoration / restoring is used synonymously with refinishing these days. It's a shame as they're two very distinct methodologies.

Trena... Your toning skills are magical. Amazing how all the repairs disappear... especially cross grain scratches on the top!
So great to have these earthly possessions to remember our friends and family after they leave us. They have gone to a place where refinished furniture, or any possession, doesn't exist or matter. Take time to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you, even in their original unrestored condition, before they are gone. This is the time to appreciate and celebrate them.
I'm praying no one takes the "time" to fix up all my junk when I'm gone. Time better spent might be to stop by for no reason other than to give me a hug while I'm still here 😁
Thanks for sharing and endless treats for Nessa's appearance.
