You might want to think about taking pics of the backs of furniture, logging what you find out or know about each piece as well. Might be a book some day?
In life I'll find channels where yes it's full of priceless information, but also therapeutic and somehow a restful break from stress. Here I've found it. Thank You
Trena, your father taught you well! 25 years of doing this shows. Your work and knowledge shows. Your work makes your customers grateful and happy. God bless you and yours.
I like the way you made this video. Started with up close pictures, a new intro, and told the story in 30 minutes. Great strategy used to fix the door. Beautiful work. Great finish color. The piece turned out great. I am a big fan and look forward to watching your show.
I hope Lee Valley is watching these videos. My favourite toy store. So nice to see sympathetic and professional restoration. I am so tired of all the chalk paint out there so this is a relief.
This one shows that sometimes you really can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. I admire your ability to see potential in even the saddest sacks and your patience and skill in doing it all the right way.
I have this cabinet in my house, given to me by an old friend to pass down to my daughter. It is a pretty piece of furniture and well preserved and cared for.
Thankyou for saving this piece..I'm so distressed by all the paint being used on beautiful old furniture! Love the new video format as well! You are a continual inspiration Trena!
I have a jacobean revival buffet and china which belonged to my grandmother's. So many good memories of meals in her dining room. I loved watching this video. Thank you.
Hi! I have been watching your videos for the last couple of weeks and love them all. The way you present your work from start to finish is amazing. I am a retired man and started furniture restoration as a hobby about three years ago. keep it going!!!! Juan, from Puerto Rico
Beautiful job. I have sold so many of those over the years, and they still sell. They are from the late 40s to very early 50s. Canadian company with the Robertson screws. They were marketed to the returning military people who seen similar styles in Europe during WWII. The American style took off in the early to mid 50s and these stopped being made so much. So nice to see a full restoration to beautiful piece, great job. You are very skilled.
You can tell when someone restores furniture for the money and when someone is puts their heart into it their work and it shows on you. You are all heart.you treat each article like they are your own, with lots of tlc.
Wow. The original wood is beautiful. What I love about pieces like this is that even lower middle class folks like my grandparents could afford this furniture, and 80 years later these pieces are still around!
Your patience stamina and dedication is amazing. You are a miracle worker. I think of what you went through, picking up roots, discontinuing at a successful location, and dragging All you have 2000 miles to start again. I wish upon you gods love and grace to be with you help you. and protect you and your family. My situation wont allow me to help you financially, but i will be hope and praying for you. Thank you for your videos.
My grandmother had this very cabinet (if an old man’s memory serves-not a slam dunk, that) when I was a kid in the 1960’s. It disappeared after she passed. It’s kind of nice to think that it may have ended up in your shop somehow. Nice work, it goes without saying.
My grandma had the whole set, china cabinets, buffet, 6 chairs and dining table with the flip up leaf. up until she passed in 2006, nobody knows where it all went.
Oh my goodness you brought the old girl back to life!! The right way...Without her becoming a painted lady....LOL...I love these old china cabinets. I know they were massed produced but that's what makes them special to me. As a kid just about every house you went into had one. They were the special place where you would be shown by the owner their special treasures. Old family pictures in well worn frames, a collection of depression glass, little trinket boxes filled with coins or loved ones hair locks. Old musky books or a special china collection. They were always the special place...that held the special stuff. Just about everyone I can remember always had beautiful crocheted doilies on each shelf. I love these cabinets. To me they are very feminine piece of furniture. You did an amazing job on her. God bless 😊
It turned out GREAT!!! My self, I liked it in it's natural color, just clear coat it, but I understand the owner wanting the way it use to look. Good Job As Usual!!!!!!
Trena, you are so amazing. Your father must be so proud of you. To follow in his footsteps and the love you put into your work shows in everything you do. The cabinet looks so beautiful 🧡
Honestly I thought I had become a sort of dinosaur, there were so few of us left who love furniture and original finishes. Thank you for restoring my faith and I no longer feel so alone.
Hi Trena😊 great job, looks like new again, the owner will be surprised when they see it now, thanks for another interesting video, stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart and Megan UK.
Thank you for this. Absolutely beautiful. Makes me sick to see everyone painting such beautiful pieces of furniture that can be just cleaned up and with a little love brought back to life.
You transformed that tired broken piece into "la grande dame" An absolutely stunning statement of perfection! Even the choice of stain is perfect! Thank you for sharing your ART with us!♥ Please continue sharing your art - and thank you also for passing your artistry on to a future generation. Far too many of the old arts are disappearing. On a personal note: I seldom see such beauty that makes me cry with the Joy of seeing the rebirth of such an elegant part of history, but here I sit, with tears drying. Thank you seems insufficient but it is all I have to offer. ♥ Merci d'honorer l'histoire et les bois utilisés dans cette pièce et de partager la beauté que vous créez. Merci et Bénédictions à vous. ♥
It looks great! My grandmother had a very similar cabinet which my mother inherited. It stood in a position of importance in mom's kitchen and was again inherited by my younger sister upon her passing in 2020. It still carries the respect for which it is due and stands in a respectful place once again.
I just love watching you do these repairs, and I used to hate making pieces for lattice, one trick I learned when glueing laminated lattice or pieces of veneers was to cut thin strips of a soda can and the skinny strips could get the glue into thin places. Cheers from Jacksonville Florida 🌞
Hi Trenna! Just got back to watching yours & others RUclips videos, after not having my own cell phone, from early May up until about a week ago! Shared my fiancee's phone some during that time, but did not get to log on here, and do much viewing very often! Goodness! I really missed it a lot!! As a result, I went back & started with your video about the "debut" of your new Laser Cutter, as I'd left off on the video you posted, where many things went wrong. Anyway, I first want to say, that I REALLY LIKED your new intro! Now I can't wait to view the next vid, & see if you kept it! Hope so!! 🙂 Second of all, I want to say that I REALLY LIKED your work in restoring this China Cabinet! GREAT JOB AS ALWAYS!!! 🙂 A Great Aunt of mine had, (and probably still has), a China Cabinet that is nearly identical to this one. My Mom has a photo of herself, that my Great-Aunt took of her standing in front of that China Cabinet. It was taken in the Dining Room of my Great Aunt & Uncle's farmhouse, just outside of Frederick, Maryland. It was taken back about 1962, when my Mom was just 14 years old, & she still has that photo in one of her albums, back at she and my Dad's home in West Virginia. I kind of wish I lived closer now, so that I could go to their place, & get that album out & look at that photo, so that I could see if that China Cabinet is as identical as I recall, to the one you restored here. 🙂 Take Care, & Continued Success With Future Restorations! Highest Respects Always! Ron H. Abilene, TX.
We call this style of furniture “Grootmoeders tijd” in Dutch, which translates into Grandmothers time. But to be frank, by now we should say Great grandma’s or Great great grandma’s time 😂. Again you did your magic 🪄 you’re so very skilled. It’s a lovely piece now.
Nice to see a depression era piece not get slathered in chalk paint.
You might want to think about taking pics of the backs of furniture, logging what you find out or know about each piece as well. Might be a book some day?
THANK YOU for not painting the cabinet in gray chalk paint and screeching in a baby voice how AMAZING it turned out.

You turned this into such a beautiful piece. I have seen these painted many times. It just makes me sick.
You just made this a antique. This pretty piece will be here another 50 years now
It is a blessing to do what you love.
You have very good taste in music for your videos. 🙂
Very nice!
Music in the beginning says it all the intro i believe every word. " how you love what you do."
You are they best wish I lived by you so I could learn from you I'm in Kentucky
Beautiful job! Such matriculated attention to the details.
This is great work. Thanks for sharing your skills.
Well Trena. You managed to turn that China cabinet around. Looks very nice.
