I've come to the conclusion that everything that is made by man needs to be repaired, touched up, rebuilt, re glued, from one time or another. The trick is to start with something that is worth saving and has a bit of quality to it Great to see you have rescued a worthy piece.
Yay! Another video! You have some of the best attention grabbing titles! This is my favorite RUclips channel, as I always seem to learn something new or different every time. 😎👍🏻💯
Dogs are the best shop companions,i always pick up furniture from the trash. And restored a few and have kept a few myself.keep up the good work and the calming videos.peace....
The love and care you give furniture makes me so happy. If I’m stressed you make go away, thank you for sharing your talents and work! Much appreciated 😊
it's always enjoy to watch your vidéos and your work is perfect hope you got pleasure in your work as we have more satisfaction to see this congratulations and have a good week
Sweetheart you are so inspiring to other people including young women who want to work with their hands and minds! God in heaven is blessing your family and I know you love God and family so keep your faith and never never think Your forgotten or forsaken because MY GOD LOVES YOU!
Another beautiful restoration, I just love watching you work. When I saw 'Shop Kitten' playing and then creep under watching you work, I thought.. No!, please don't jump on the desk top.... luckily not. 🙂 👍👍🇬🇧
I’m a consulting geologist, but a few years ago I started a side business of making custom furniture for people. Over the years friends have come to me with antiques and family heirlooms to see if I could repair them. I think I have done a respectable job on the repairs, much aided by your videos as I have learned methods and techniques from you that I would have never figured out on my own. I recently restored a fold top writing desk for a friend. Her father, a carpenter, had made this from a plan from Woman’s Day magazine in the late 60’s. He used walnut and it was beautifully done based off the methods of the day. After he passed she inherited it, but it had lived in a barn in Ohio for about a decade, so it was pretty rough. I did not make it new,as you pointed out with the cigarette burn, I left the character, but made it fully functional and structurally sound. When I returned it to the owner I found myself with a joyfully weeping woman in my arms for nearly a half hour. I can completely see why you do this as the satisfaction is off the charts. Thanks for the “tutorials” and please keep teaching us.
Awesome job as always Trena, you must be busy packing for your move, big job, but you must be excited going back to your Dad's shop and working with him....I wished I still had my dad around to work on stuff with him....Enjoy every moment!!!!!!!!!! Cheers Danny//
Trena my mom's in heaven, but I'd guarantee she would say yes, she would love your channel if she were here, she used to love her old furniture, she never liked the throw away society that world was becoming, she would say things like oh my goodness just look at that waste, as children we had to eat every bit of food that was on our plates before we were allowed to leave the table, she had lived through the war years in Briton so she new all about waste, or how to prevent it, just like what you are doing here Trena, we need more people like you in this world,
Tom here; (Gayle's husband); I do this type of work in ND. Love Mohawks products and so fun to watch a master at work!!! (A Navy shipmate in Maine turned me on to your channel!!) desk is total killer!!!!
I'm sorry to say that, but even if you're doing a fantastic job on this piece, your little cat stealth the show when on screen. Too cute! 😽 You simply can't compete!!! Congratulations from France
Loved the intro to this video with ShopDog going through the woods, also seeing your new kitty playing in the background. Beautiful work as always. You can tell how much pride you take in your work and I enjoy your videos very much.
Great tip on the green tape! and the demonstration, totally intentionally by the way, was a great visual aid to remind us! Thanks for your Teaching moment! :D
You know, when you were originally gluing down the veneer repair pieces, I THOUGHT I saw some green tape still under the new veneer insert, but I immediately dismissed the thought, as I said to myself, "Nah, Trena would NEVER makes a mistake like that." and she surely would not leave it in the video if she had. But, at least you were honest and were willing to admit that you are not quite the Goddess I was under the impression you were, but I totally respect your owning up to your oversight. I consider myself to be REALLY perceptive and good at anticipating strategic moves three or four moves in advance in any project, but I, too, find myself making the rare mistake such as the one you made. Hey, it just proves we're human - and that's a good thing. Carry on refinishing.
You do really good work.
Oh my! That’s gorgeous! You are amazing.
Ah, Shop Dog has a new kitty friend.
Not surprised my mom told you I could watch this video. She loves me.
