There's a Māori story of a guy named Tama who cut down a tōtara tree to make a waka (canoe) without first asking permission from Tāne, god of the forest. Every night, the birds and insects would collect up all the chips and put the tree back together, so that Tāne wouldn't be angry
Gosh Miss Trena, that was fun. Even though you would have cut new pieces, this was a great way to show off repair techniques. Sometimes a new leg isn’t possible. Thanks!
Three things I found great in this video. 1 You put your skills to test for FUN 2 You gave the chair a nordic look, creating value in what you made 3 Your daughter helping, and she made a very nice job. This is one of the top videos you made.
When the video first started, I thought, the poor girl has lost her mind! I also thought that you may have inhaled too much vapor in the paint room! lol This video sure shows your talent repairing a seriously damage piece of furniture, (a drastic display.) Good promotional video! You truly are a great talent in the restoration of pieces that could be lost forever. Thank you for sharing!
What I love about you is your "not a problem" approach. Nothing you can't fix, and you know it. It took me a long time to get over the wood purist thing. Not all wood is that great. (A nice blue paint to match your nails would have worked, too.)
I love this video, you demonstrated how something can seem so destroyed its not worth saving but with determination and skilled hands it can be not only repaired but turned into the best version of itself. A little scarred but strong. Much the way the lord doesn't give up on us, even when we seem so broken. In the end with his guidance we become the best we can be. Guess this church chair wasn't finished being of service to the lord.
THIS was TOO FUNNY!!! And what an amazing outcome!!! Both just the repair but also the appeal of the chair! I never like those kinds of chairs in the slightest, but what you've done to this, I wouldn't mind having one of those in my home! Very current, very light, very beachy... You're always such a joy to watch, and this video was especially fun!
Oh dear, I am never that bored 🤣 What a nice way to relieve some stress and then flex your mad skills in putting that toothpick puzzle back together! Nicely done… nicely done.
G’day Trena. I have been in awe of your talent since you repaired that beautiful clock many videos ago, but this time you really outdid yourself! You have proved that there is nothing that you can’t repair. I loved how much fun you had which made it fun for us to watch as well. The final result is a credit to your skills so thank you for sharing with us. Now, get back to work, playtime is over 🤣😂. With best wishes from Down Under 😘💕🇳🇿.
I really love it! This chair is giving me Danish modern vibes. In my next life I will be a rich lady living in a beautiful house full of vintage Danish modern furniture. You did a great job. Fun video and beautiful outdoor scenic views.
Who throws a chair off a bridge then repairs it? I’m so sure that’s a first on RUclips! Absolutely fantastic, it’s gorgeous! What a great episode to have in your back pocket!!!
I for sure thought you had lost all your marbles. I guess now it's safe to say that there is nothing you cant do to repair furniture. 😊Your skill is up and beyond. Thank you for the humor and giving that chair a rebirth! 😉 Great work as always Trena!
"I'm bored! Let's buy a chair and throw it off a bridge, then fix it." Must have been a tough winter up there.🤣 When I saw the aftermath I thought No Way you were going to get it back together without replacing bits. Thanks for the bleach info, I was never sure which to use for what purpose before. A fantastic result. That chair would fit well into any modern home I think. Cheers!
Well, I thought that you got frustrated and threw something off the bridge, once again you surprised me. There's quite the challenge you gave yourself and it looks better than it did before it was tossed off the bridge! I think you can make anything work and fix anything, no doubt about it now!
You were REALLY bored! Anything for clicks? Love it!! 🤣 That's a pretty impressive leg reconstruction. I really like the final result. Wasn't expecting the fabric you chose. It really looks like a chair I'd love to live with. Thank you for sharing your amazing skills, Trena! Another job well done. Best, Angela
At first, I thought this was just foolishness. Then I realized it is a wonderful encouragement and lesson in technique, experience, and expertise. You are amazing 🙏😍
Needed to see that anyone that's moved has dropped something off the truck or had an accident with a piece of furniture and usually it's the the special heirloom..so thank you I now know that I can glue that special pile of splinters together.
Well I just haven’t had that much fun watching a furniture repair show, and I ❤ furniture repair shows!! Thank you for that! Absolutely awesome, and you… Are… AMAZING 🎉❤😊
That was fun! Thanks for clarifying different bleach applications. I always appreciate you sharing your approach to toning, color correction or matching.
I have used a bicycle inner tube on some large repairs, never thought about electrical tape on small stuff. What a great idea! Thanks for a very enjoyable video!!!
When I saw the thumbnail I was checking the date to see if it was posted on April 1st! Nope, just a mad flash of fun and insane skills from Trena. Fabulous work as always.
I liked this video. You showed how to put a really messed up chair back together again. The techniques to use. It was fun and different from the usual furniture refinishing video.
We are waiting for the video where you put a piece of furniture in a wood chipper and show us how you put that back together. LOL. You did a fantastic job on that chair that had a slight drop. Well done again.
WOW Trena, you're brilliant, although I've never been that bored as to need to make work for myself I see what you've done here to demonstrate your skill, not hat you needed to, every vid you make does that, but extra youtube money is always welcome, while I prefer colour you've made this chair classy and timeless, you go girl, cheers!!!🥰👍👍👍
This was fabulous and hilarious. I love your work and your videos. I did some refinishing in my youth, and am quite proud of it. But nothing I did compares to your work. It is exquisite.
Yes, that really works. The toned oak goes well with that fabric. I like light furniture , so I'd definitely buy that. Consummate skill with the toning. 😁
This cheered me up after a really rotten week. You do realise that you’ll open your door one day and see a queue of people each holding one of those chairs after accidentally throwing it off a building somewhere from a great height…. 😂😂😂😂 Looked amazing. I knew which leg it was but if you didn’t - incredible job. 👏👏❤
Innovative way of getting a way to show us different skills than we normally get to see. We need to see how to recover from catastrophy! Good video! Well done again!
I didn’t think you could really put that chair back to a useful condition. Now I’m thinking if I ever accidentally drop my favorite chair off of a bridge and it breaks into splinters I know just the gal who can make it whole again. Going forward I will try my best to not travel with my furniture.
Jenna, that looks so easy. That's what professionals do, but that takes everything to a much higher level. You have an amazing talent and amazing talent. You are the best. After watching the rest of the video, you are nit only a professional, you are a genius with furniture repair. I didn't care for the color bat the is me ,not you.
I'm so pleased you didn't over darken the frame too much, such beautiful figuring deserves to be on show. The choice of fabric finish complements the chair wonderfully. Trena, thank you for sharing and being a touch silly throwing the chair off of the bridge in the first place.
Super amazing throw!! Lol I love your sense of humor and your work !! I heard this church chair was involved in a bad chair accident and needed a lot of body work. I heard it was taken to John's Furniture Repair. There is a lady over there that performs some awesome work. After she repaired , bumped it out and painted it you would never know it was involved in an accident. It is absolutely beautiful! I would recommend her to anyone!!
My main reason for loving this channel is because your a master at your craft, however you've now proved that you are mental 🤪 your even more endearing. I'd like to know who you were thinking of when you chucked the chair of the bridge, I could think of more than one person so would have needed a suite of chairs. 🤣😂 Great job. 👍
Ich dachte schon, Sie werfen ein Möbelstück von einem Kunden von der Brücke, weil die Restaurierung schiefgegangen...dabei wollten Sie nur ein bisschen Puzzle spielen😂 Ich liebe es❤
Trena, I thought that the wilderness of Saskatchewan had gotten to you.😂 When you got to the top of the bridge I expected to see Jaw Tooth or 1960Gambit waiting for a train. However this was a great tutorial in how a true craftsperson can fix anything. WELL DONE! Very Impressive !
I needed this! Both from an entertainment standpoint and a practical one! My hubby's step mom "took apart" their Danish dining chairs to wash the white upholstery with a hose. They have not remained intact and need to be really repaired. Thankfully it's not exactly thrown-off-a-bridge- bad, but it's a lot for me. I definitely learned some ways to redo the joints and fasteners from this. Thanks for your wonderful work!
Great idea, Trena! Now that's a novel idea...you're the first!!! Wow! You outdid yourself on this one. You should show the before and after on this one for all your prospective customers!
Because I work with recovered wood, there's a lot of techniques in here that I use myself. It's nice to see someone so much more skillful and knowledgeable than I am doing things the same way I do. I guess, it's nice to know I have a (small) subset of Trena's skills.
I thought you were crazy throwing a chair off a bridge and trying to repair it but you did it beautifully. You were trained well by your dad. Great job
Trena, you did an amazing job repairing that chair. The color of the wood is beautiful. If the chair is to be kept in that spot, the only thing I would have done differently, is to choose one of the colors in the area rug for the upholstery fabric.
Ok here I was expecting to see a really difficult repair job and you go and make it so Easy. By the way you Are Crazy, but that's part of what makes all of us love you so much.💘
And for her next act, Trena will rebuild a tree from little boxes of toothpicks and some sawdust!!! You are amazing!!!
Lol
just order 1000 boxes of toothpicks and make a small pine Bonsai tree from them... and I'll bet she could do it! LOL
😂
Exactly 😂😂😂
There's a Māori story of a guy named Tama who cut down a tōtara tree to make a waka (canoe) without first asking permission from Tāne, god of the forest. Every night, the birds and insects would collect up all the chips and put the tree back together, so that Tāne wouldn't be angry
"Drop a chair off for repair!" has a whole new meaning for me. Excellent video, impressive!!
Glad you liked it!
LOLOL. Definitely a new meaning. Too funny.
Hey, we would love a personal video about where you see in regards to a new shop, house, etc. Just how you and family are doing. Love your show.
Coming up soon!
What about your horse?
Gosh Miss Trena, that was fun. Even though you would have cut new pieces, this was a great way to show off repair techniques. Sometimes a new leg isn’t possible.
Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Great job. It looks beautiful. Love the colour choices. Laughed out loud at “religious trauma.”
lol

as an advertisement for your skill, brilliant. again i am in awe at how you can blend colours to hide all and any imperfections and fixes.
I'm just glad you're not a bored surgeon. Great work!
Me too!
What I love about you is your "not a problem" approach. Nothing you can't fix, and you know it.
It took me a long time to get over the wood purist thing. Not all wood is that great. (A nice blue paint to match your nails would have worked, too.)
😉
I can hardly believe you could put that shattered leg back together so well. Except display of your craftsmanship. Well done, Trena.
You have a gift and we’re all lucky enough to watch you do fabulous things to broken furniture and bring it back to life
🥰
I love this video, you demonstrated how something can seem so destroyed its not worth saving but with determination and skilled hands it can be not only repaired but turned into the best version of itself. Thank you very much!

Amazing how the toner mutes the contrast in the wood without looking like it's covered. Great job!
Thank you very much!
When I saw the thumbnail I was checking the date to see if it was posted on April 1st! Nope, just a mad flash of fun and insane skills from Trena. Fabulous work as always.

I’d buy that chair in a heartbeat. Beautiful and surprising result thank you Trena
Wonderful!
I enjoy furniture repair as a hobby and do all right, but that bundle of toothpicks is way out of my league. Trena, you are amazing!
Thanks 👍
Yes, that really works. The toned oak goes well with that fabric. I like light furniture , so I'd definitely buy that.
Consummate skill with the toning. 😁
I’m speechless 🤯 really incredible to me, wow outstanding work! 👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼♥️

Fantastyczne wyzwanie!
Miło się oglądało.
Zdrowia i powodzenia życzę.
Before and After, i liked it before but preferred it after, thanks Trena
I really like the color! I think it suits the style of the furniture quite well.

Thanks 👍
Very cool idea. Thank you for your time and sharing!!
My pleasure!
Great video..showing your high level of craft person skills
Thank you! Cheers!
Girl, that was NUTS, and I LOVE it! That was so much fun, and you did a wonderful job fixing/restoring/beautifying that wreck of a chair.
This shows me just how good you would be at building furniture from scratch. As always an exceptional video thank you for sharing.👍
Thanks again!
Trina! You are loosing your mind! It make me like you even more! 😁 Well done! 👏👏👏👏👏❤

It just shows what you can do to damaged furniture ❤️🇬🇧
Masterful job!
That was pretty amazing. Turned out so great. Apparently you can fix anything. So talented
Absolutely Gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing
Loved this. With skill, clamps, and glue, most everything cane be saved. Nice lesson. Beautiful result. ❤️
Outstanding. Looks like a super classy chair. Would never guessed white but really stands out❤❤❤❤

Thankyou
That WAS fun. Your skill in repairing that was amazing! One down…29 more to go.
Trena, that's it, you're the undisputed champion of repair.
Brilliant. Both in concept and execution.
Very nice. You might consider getting the rest of the chairs, finishing them the same, and auctioning them off.
My main reason for loving this channel is because your a master at your craft, however you've now proved that you are mental 🤪 your even more endearing. Great idea, wrecking furniture😂 From very dull to a fresh Scandi look. Nice fabric too!
Yes! Thank you!
what a beautiful beginning scene and i remember the great photos i took visiting Quebec City when in Canada.
Great idea, Trena! Now that's a novel idea...you're the first!!! Wow! You outdid yourself on this one. You should show the before and after on this one for all your prospective customers!
Absolutely inspired.....great repair (destroy first) and refinish video!
Glad you enjoyed it
I appreciate the information about different bleaches.

Thankyou!
You are a real character and I love your work
I didn’t think you were seriously going to throw it off the bridge! You’re crazy, but we luvs ya, and seriously appreciate you sharing your skills ❤
I appreciate that
