Funny bc I looked in my owners manual and it stated to go to Kia. Thank you so much for showing how to replace headlights. Im sure Kia would have charge me a arm and both legs. Bless you🙏🏾
I hope this is helpful to someone. I have 2020 Soul. I had to remove my tire and remove most of that protector above the tire. My Kia had screws holding in the bulb. I had to slightly unscrew the screws to be able to remove the bulb. After that it came out easy with a slight counter clockwise turn. Ik this video is months old, but I hope it helps. I had the hardest time trying to figure out how to do it.
Thank you for viewing and commenting. I didn't have the foresight to show how to remove the bulbs, trying to get my hands on another for more thorough video.
Thank you... I had it fix at Pep boys...what I like they do diagnostic...of the entire engine and the mechanic will let me know what I would need next: as tire, break etc. I was pleased.
Thank you for viewing and commenting. Peel away the rubber cover, there should be a metal retainer holding bulb. Some you squeeze together, some you just push down and away. Once you peel back rubber take notice how the metal retainer is attached. I apologize for not showing on video. Be sure to turn wheel inward for more access
I deliver the newspaper in middle of the night in the country & have hit many racoons & tree limbs & now my 2020 kia soul head light has fallen apart & is dangling by a thread.. it still works even though it fills completely up with water like a fish tank when it rains.. it also points almost straight up at the trees & sky.. it goes out every now & again.. I kick it a few times & it starts working again.. one day a few possums from now I imagine what ever tiny string is still attached holding the headlight to the car will surely break & the army of suicidal bunnies, racoons, possums & deers will finally get what they want more than life itself.. my headlight.. I believe I have seen their leader once.. it was a raccoon who walks like a human on 2 legs.. sadly he liked to walk in the middle of the road &...well.. 😐...
Unless you take that wheel off and pull all those clips from that liner and drop that liner, you’re gonna end up tearing that liner if you try to pull it back taken only three clips off you’re trying to cheat
@@coolbreezedude3451 thank you for viewing and commenting. I appreciate your input, hopefully the unskilled can benefit from it. I can get in and out of most cars with minimal effort. Stay tuned, I just received another one to work on so I may redo these bulb videos and a couple more.
Thank you for viewing and commenting. There should be little holes in front of headlight, one for up and down one for left to right. The holes should be on black cover, unless they designed it to be done from behind also.
Let me correct the adjustment part of it. The adjustment holes could be at bottom of bumper, you could see holes with arrows around them indicating adjustment direction. I say could because I haven't worked on one in a while, but vaguely remember maybe seeing holes and arrows on bottom of bumper. I filmed a bumper removal I never posted so I'll review it.
Thank you for viewing and commenting. I'm aware that I didn't show everything I should have, been trying to get my hands on another for a better video. It's a simple job once you do it once. Remove plug, remove rubber surround using tab or tabs, push and pull away retaining spring holding bulb in place. Installation is reverse order.
I'm glad I found this video! Do you happen to know what type of screw driver is required to adjust the headlamp height? I've tried philips, flathead, and torx, but couldn't feel any of them bite. Thanks in advance.
Thank you for viewing and commenting. There should be access to a plastic bit to adjust the light, I haven't had to adjust them so cant visualize what to use. I'm trying to get my hands on another one so I could make a more in depth video.
Hey, once you pull those plugs, are they toast? I couldn't get them back in. I also couldn't quite get to the headlight, even with the cover pulled back. The stupid dealership is going to charge me $60 to change a headlight! If I knew the car was this poorly designed, I would have bought something else. I've never driven a car with headlights that I couldn't change.
Thank you for viewing and commenting. The rubber cover is reusable as long as you didn't rip them. Once the harness and cover are removed the bulb will be held in by a spring clip, there should be a looped end on the clip to help flip away from the housing. Either both ends of clip are looped, if so squeeze them towards base of bulb and it should release. If only one end is looped then slightly push forward and away for bulb. I apologize for not making a more in depth video, I'm trying to get my hands on another one to re shoot more in depth. Good luck my friend
Thank you for viewing and commenting. I'm trying to get my hands on another for a more extensive video, I apologize for not making a more complete video. I have the exact Kia.. I need to change the driver side headlight...The driver side has more parts under hood, is everything the same assembly on driver side ? Is is that simple also ???
Thank you for viewing and commenting. Setting up your L.E.D depends on the kit you have, they are all basically plug and play. Some require you to cut a hole in the plastic cover on back of headlights. Most require to align the bulb as if they are halogen. I hope to make another headlight video soon.
I have the 2020 GT Line and all roads leads to 9005 bulb however, the 9005 have two promps connector, my Kia has 3 and the OEM bulbs says Phillips H19. I replaced mine with 9003 bulb which has 3 promp plug. Im just having issues engaging the right side bulb retaining clip, its a nightmare since you really cant see what you are doing even from the side turning the wheel or from the hood view,,,, next for me will be removing that dog on right wheel.
Thank you for viewing and commenting. The spring clip can be a pain, removing the wheel can make it easier to see but it can be done without removing wheel. I'm really trying to get my hands on another one to show more details. I recently filmed a 2022 but didn't get to do a bulb video. As soon as I posted the video and after a few comments I realized I should have shown more in depth. I apologize for my lack of foresight.
I have the same 2020 GT line and yes its a 9003 from sylvania with the 3 prong plug as describe and read your comment while in Walmart. I hadn't remove the bulb yet so i wasn't sure what it look like. The online, Walmart and Autozone had it wrong. Thanks you saved me a trip.
Thank you for viewing and commenting. The bulb size differ on your year model. Try looking up on the sylvania website or go to part store, they have a book with year and size. You are the second person to remind me that I should have shown removal of actual bulb. Going to have to make a point to do a revised version next time I get one in my hands
Thank you for viewing and commenting. I do apologize for not completely showing the process, I was limited on time. I had one that I filmed recently but didn't have time to revise the bulb videos, I'll find one I get to work on soon.
The original owner has 10 year 100,000 mile warranty on power train. I have a 2020 Soul S and my cvvt needed to be replaced and then something to do with the camshafts. It was causing my car to shut off when driving. I had just under 68k miles on it and they fixed it at no cost to me!
Thank you for viewing and commenting. I'm aware that I didn't go into extreme detail on removing lightbulbs. Have been waiting to get my hands on another to do a more in depth video, I recently filmed more soul videos but it was out of the shop before I could get back to it.
