Ah that sucks. I started by using the instructions in the owners Manuel to change the bulb myself and that was a nightmare. I almost brought it in the get done but the mechanic wanted $100 to change it. He was telling me about how he had to remove a bunch of stuff to get to the bulb. Luckily I found this amazing video which saved me $100 and a bunch of my time.

This was a great video! I called our local Kia dealer & he said it would cost about $475!!! I said, "just to change a light bulb?" And he said "Yes!" I really can't believe that. Anyway, we thank you so much for this easy to understand and follow video. It did take us more than 5 minutes, haha!, but it only cost us $19 for the bulb and we are very proud that we did it! I tried over an hour to screw in the bulb with no avail but when I saw your video and you mentioned the red seal saying behind, I knew that was the problem. Once those were removed, got both lights changed in under a minute. Thank you so much!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was having a super bad day where everything that could go wrong was going wrong. I was going to get this fixed with my oil change. They were going to charge me $70 (in addition to the $50 oil change)! Which I thought was super steep (twice as much as getting one fixed on my Jeep), but I was willing to pay for the convenience. Well I waited an hour and they still didn't have the bulb. So I told them forget it. Then I went to the parts place got the last one they had on the shelf and went to install it and found the fuse box in the way. I had to coax the parts guy to take a look at it for me. He told me I'd have to pull the fuse box. I was thinking there has to be a better way. I called my best friend who knows her way around a car. My best friend looked online while I was driving home. She said the video she found suggested loosening the assembly to give yourself more room. At this point I was thinking I should have waited for the bulb and paid the $70. She suggested I look a little more when I got home so I looked specifically for videos on the driver's side headlight. I'm SO glad I found your video. It's a little tricky getting the cord attached to the bulb in that tiny space, and my bulb is a little cockeyed in there - the release is not on the top like the video - it's turned (I double checked to make sure it's in there right and it is - mine's just weird). But once I got that cord attached, I was so happy. Thank you again for this video. You were a blessing in a crappy day.

I installed the new bulb in just a few minutes thanks to this excellent video. Before I bought the bulb, I checked to see what they would charge me to install it and was told it would be a minimum $40 labour charge and possibly up to $70. Thank you for helping me to keep the money in MY wallet!

I replaced this bulb tonight in -10 C, jeans, light jacket and no gloves (just a flashlight for light). By the end I was cursing on Kia and thinking someone should be fired for this design. Couldn't blow the passenger side! Had to be the driver's. Got it. Came in and told my wife how hard it was and decided to watch a video to see if there was a trick to it. Loads of passenger side videos... Then I came across this one. Man, I wish I had saw this video first! I got two seals on that light now. I nicked up my fingers forcing the cap back in place (I did figure out to take the fuse box cover off). This is the second time I've stumbled across one of your videos when doing work - maybe also on the Soul. You're a good mechanic and you make good videos. I just need to start looking for them before I do a job!!

Excellent video and instructions - did the passenger side a couple weeks ago and had watched your video; of course, the driver's side bulb burnt a couple days ago and was really happy to review your video; indeed, reinstalling the gray clip to the bulb was tricky - I used the flat screwdriver to catch the clip and realign it to connect. Thanks again.
This was the most useful video, to change my headlights I used one Flathead to push down and I use my index finger to wiggle the wiring harness off of the light bulb, I changed both of my headlights in less than 7 minutes... I even showed my mechanic how to do it
these instructions also work for 2014 Souls as well. First time a headlight went out and of course it was on the more difficult driver side. Thank you for the detailed demonstration!

I know this an old video but very useful. My driver side low beam burnt out on my 2019 soul. And I went to change and I couldn’t figure out how to get it off. So went to RUclips. The first video I watched said the only way to take it off, is remove the headlight assembly. This is so much easier. Thanks

Some might find it redundant, but I really appreciate that you explained everything in detail and repeated some steps. It really helps those of us that are less mechanically inclined. The hardest for me was locking the bulb back in.
THANK YOU! All other resources I found said to take the whole headlight casing off which even involved taking off a portion of the front bumper. You made the procedure simple without a need for a ton of tools and skill.
This was super helpful! I was totally stuck, but this is exactly what I needed! Note: I recommend reattaching the plug with some needle nose pliers, because my index finger was NOT doing the job! 😂

Used this video yesterday oct 2022 and it was super! got out my sharpies and made a difference! strange tho for canadian folk the kia soul 2015 2.0 gdi was listed at canadian tire as needing a H7 bulb but that is too small, is actually the h13 (larger). Felt like such a boss in the. parking lot replacing this, men coming around to 'see if i was ok'... ha dude! 100% but thank you! And thank you to Califor 2A for a great vid.
Thanks for this video! The actual method of removing the bulb is simple, and I would have easily figured that out on my own. But getting around the fuse box, and the part about the rubber seals would have caused me a major headache!
This looks so easy, especially after trying to do this a few minutes ago. I wish I saw this video first then I would have been done instead of having to go back out and try it again. I hope I didn't damage the wires. Wish me luck. This was so much easier on my Sorento.

The thing about the gasket (he calls it a seal) is critical. Many will struggle with that if they don’t watch this video. Thanks for posting.

I was told by auto zone and oreilly that they couldn’t replace it because they would have to remove the fuse box and bumper. Told by an auto shop that it would be 75.00 or more and told by my dealership it would take 2 weeks. Thank you so much for teaching me how to do this on my own.

Thanks! I watched another video and couldn’t get the bulb to go on and eventually realized that there was another rubber seal and one needed to come off! Also, the two screwdrivers were a huge help! Awesome video!👍🏼

Used this video yesterday oct 2022 and it was super! got out my sharpies and made a difference! strange tho for canadian folk the kia soul 2015 2.0 gdi was listed at canadian tire as needing a H7 bulb but that is too small, is actually the h13 (larger). Felt like such a boss in the. parking lot replacing this, men coming around to 'see if i was ok'... ha dude! 100% but thank you! And thank you to Califor 2A for a great vid.

Thanks for this video! The actual method of removing the bulb is simple, and I would have easily figured that out on my own. But getting around the fuse box, and the part about the rubber seals would have caused me a major headache!
This looks so easy, especially after trying to do this a few minutes ago. I wish I saw this video first then I would have been done instead of having to go back out and try it again. I hope I didn't damage the wires. Wish me luck. This was so much easier on my Sorento.

Thank you so much. I just had the driver's side bulb burn out then watched a video showing how to replace the passenger side bulb....then I opened the hood of my car. Sheesh...now I can do it.

this may be the best instructional video I've ever watched. I love how detailed it was, even down to finger placement and when he reassembled it he showed the two screwdriver technique again to reinforce the lesson, is this guy like a trained educator who is a mechanic on the side?
